I finished editing my video. When I click render, It shows that its rendering but does not do anything. I've waited for an hour but it still shows that its rendering. How long does it take to render a 3 minute video. Or did I do something wrong??
thanks for this tutorial :) i imported an image sequence (PNG) one image at a time, and anything that's put in the timeline doesn't show in the playback window. what am i doing wrong?
Thanks a lot for sharing these tips... I want to know how long your rendering took on this movie. I have an ogv file (28 minutes). After trimming from about 20 places, it should be only about 8 minutes. But even after 4 hours, the rendering is not finished. PiTiVi states that it will take another 8 hours to go! Is this normal?
@marhaonline rendering depends a lot on the power of you processor and the format in which the video is being rendered. But a 1080p video on a basic dual core pc with 2 gigs of ram should finish rendering the 8 minute video in under 2 hrs. So i would say choose a rather light format to render like mpeg-2. Try to modify the video render settings to get the video renderd faster.
@TheOsco11 It's a pretty basic video editor. it doesn't have any function to add titles. But if you need to do it then you can use gimp to create a title on a transparent background and save it in .png format and then add that image to the timeline on top of the video where you want it to appear!
sorry for the late reply .. youtube doesn't show all the comments on my video in my inbox so i checking out each of my videos for unanswered comments!
@JessePeterz Are you sure that when you dragged the video on to the timeline of pitivi you dragged it to the exact starting point of the timeline..
The other posibility you did the fade to black part wrong. You must have dragged the small box on the video down to the bottom but you forgot to add the keyframe a little bit further up the video .
@cutiepox10 Type Pitivi into the terminal and hit enter. If nothing happens there is an error. Pitivi is available by default but I suggest you use sudo apt-get install pitivi . if you can't get it working !!
@ThePSPFreak10 actully when you render the file and you have to choose a filename you have to add .mp4 (or whatever format you rendered it). Incase you didn't Right click on the file go to properties and rename the file adding .mp4 (or avi or whatever you renderd it in :)
@PcProTips1 Ubuntu has better screencasters Recordmydesktop worked best for me....get it from the ubuntu software center...but since you will need to convert the vid before uploading kazam is a less sophisticated but cool screencaster i'll send you a link for kazam in a pm :)
Thank you!!

@canucksrule50 you click the render icon to save the video. clicking save will only save the project file which can be imported only into pitivi.

@sidhartRON When I Merge clips, it doesn't work, it just stops at the end of a specific clip, and there all Fvl's it's pretty frustrating.
