the scaling of HDTV is good, even an old video game will look good, everything depends on the quality of the scaling of the TV, many people say the panasonic tvs come have a great scaling.

@TheFred128 panas always get high scores for modern HDTV/LED/PLASMA.Their scaling must also be good....

@TheFred128 I've also heard that sharp aquos is supposed to be the best gaming LCD. Also I play SNES and N64 on a new sony bravia and it looks perfect

@logos2600 Many say Aquos has a good scaling, but for older games the best tv I've seen so far are the plasma TVs because they work well with all types of reolução same resolutions, and lcd, led only show an overall good quality if they receive a signal with a resolution equal to its native resolution.

@TheFred128 Interesting about the plasma. But I think scaling from 240 or 480 to 1080 isn't an issue (other than deinterlacing, and recognizing 240p) because its such a small resolution to such a large one. Also the NTSC resolutions are picked out so that scaling can be done easily; 240>1080 means each pixel will be exactly 4.5 pixels on the screen which should look great

I think it's important the TV can show good image quality with both high resolution signals, and signs of low resolution, because I love old consoles, n64, dreamcast, ps2, super nes etc., and play them well.

and I also play ps3, xbox 360 etc.

is good to have a tv that you can connect all your consoles and always have a good image:)

Dude it's not your t.v at all.I see what your problem is,I see you have burned versions of the dreamcast games.I had the same problem awhile back,I don't know what website you download your games from but NOTE:NOT ALL BURNED DREAMCAST GAMES PLAY AUTOMATICALLY,YOU WOULD NEED THE DREAMCAST UTOPIA BOOT DISC JUST GOOGLE IT AND YOU WILL SEE,THAT IS THE DISC YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO BOOT UP BEFORE YOU INSERT YOUR BLANK CD'S.

Or make em self boot and change IP.BIN to allow VGA mode, if you don't have one already a VGA box or Internal VGA mod (If you're brave) makes the image much nicer on modern screens. (Progressive Scan > Interlaced)

Also -- Note your manufacturing date, if you have a Non-MIL DC (Post oct 2000 IIRC) you're going to want to look online, there are ways to get it to boot as data/data instead of audio/data but I never had this issue since my DC does MIL-CD just fine.
