Waddaya mean "no emotion"? Because they don't grimace and make faces like the phony rock jocks? It's MUSIC and those guys are about as good as it gets on their respective instruments.
hahahaha 3:55 wtf was that?!?!? what's the mandolin player's name? not david grissman... I'm sure I've seen him play with tony rice, banging his head like he's rocking out as a phish concert!!!
@mightyafrowhitey As noted in the "tags" section, the mandolin player is the one and only Sam Bush. BTW, did you notice that the producer has the good manners not to include a banjo in this session?
@RickRiman thank you. I always forget his name for some reason. and lol about the banjo player. I'm kinda surprised not to see Bela on there actually. but yea, banjo + jazz isn't exactly the greatest combo in the world.
the "no emotion" comment baffles me too. sure these guys are amazing technical players, they wouldn't be some of the top session musicians in the country if they weren't. give 'em jazz, blues, country, bluegrass.... whatever you wanna call it I like it!!! but if this music doesn't ozze emotion, I don't really know what does.
so much class in one room...
