i was like right to the left of the horse near the top, and you cant see it clearly in the vid but the horse's foot actually slipped for a moment, i was surprised by how he didnt fall off, if i was there i would've jumped off :)
If this is what Doha has to offer...... then I look forward to them hosting the football world cup in 2018, a nation and a region that should be truly celebrated
i cant but help myself to watch this video but i still can remember when i'd watched this live when im still in saudi arabia this lightening of torch is the MOST amazing better than beijing ! WHY!? no computer MAGIC!!! and forgive me CANADA 2010 winter game opening is very boring! KABOOM!!!SUPERMAN didnt came out when the ice crystals r incomplete.see, the torchlight is dull!!!
Everyone can say this opening ceremony was the best, or Beijing's was the best, etc. What matters and more importantly what makes an opening ceremony truly successful is the pride and emotion it instills in the citizens of the host country, and as a Qatari, in my opinion this has been the most successful ceremony ever because of what I felt during that moment which was and still is to this very day incomparable to any ceremony in sport's history.
im Qatari and PROUD to be .. Qatar has come a long way from the past 10 years, and i cant wait to see how much farther we will go ... God Bless His Highness, her highness and god bless the country ...
it was a creat opening ceremony.i want to tell you it was rainy day and the Staircase was wet but he was Courageous.i love hem so match.he make Qatar proud.
the 2006 ASIAN games is my second pick... kudos to the horse!
and my 3rd pick is the 1992 BARCELONA OLYMPICS... precision and accuracy....
the biggest disappointmend is the 1996 ATLANTA OLYMPICS... yeah you got Ali lighting the flame... but what the heck is that flying ball on a string???? the US could have tought of something more....
god bless u sheikh mohammad, u made me fall in love with u.i want u to know that u are the eighth wonder.i think that this life, this world, times, and skies has never and will never witness a man as beautiful and as miraculous as u are.i love u so.
Very dramatic indeed! Whoever the organizers decided to light the cauldron would not deminish the drama of the moment. Yet letting the son of the Emir do it, on horseback, was definitely amazing! It multiplied the drama ang excitement a billion times!
and it was raining that day , amazing moments

Heart breaking.
I'm not Qatari, but the prince and his horse are the symbol of both the Arabian horse and the people.
It shows the courage, bravery and pride.

Truly the best cauldron-lighting ceremony in the history of the ASIAN GAMES!!! impressive...
But my top pick remains the SYDNEY OLYMPICS in 2000... that was breath-taking... water and fire came together...
