  • gordon>earnhardt

    the wall>earnhardt

  • Dale was #1

  • R.I.P. Dale

  • i agree wit u smj357

  • one of the saddest things that happened. But what came out of this sad story is their are better safety for the drivers in the car. Its sad how most of you ppl put rude responses on here.

  • we misss you Dale you were great

  • FUCK ALL WHO TALK SHIT ABOUT DALE!!!! HE WAS N A S C A R !

  • @bvlind richard petty is still the king. earnhardt was never my favorite, i didn't like him, davy allison was my favorite. my dad was a big dale fan. i liked waltrip a lot, especially after davy was killed. but, dale was an awesome competitor, and nascar is worse off for his loss.

  • And I guarantee you all the 'driver emotion' was for the cameras only...

  • @DoctorWINOMD i dont' think so. they all know that it could have been them.

  • He was dead before he hit that wall...

    Good riddance...

  • @DoctorWINOMD fuck you

  • @FATALDude1234 LOL!!!!!

    gimme a kiss...

  • @DoctorWINOMD ew no

  • are you kidding me? how do you die from THAT!?

  • @strukter1 He wore no HANS device, he hit the wall head on at 180+ MPH, no SAFER barriers and I belive his seatbelts were faulty. So ya...add that together dude.

  • @strukter1 his seatbelt broke

  • Thats fucked up how drivers get involved in bigger accidents in every race, but Earnhardt had to die...

  • DUDE THEY HAVE 240P ON THIS VIDEO!

  • I just thought it was really unfair how Darrell kept saying that Sterlin got into him. Sterlin held his line as close to the yellow line as he possibly could have. Dale wrecked because he came down too low and got into Sterlin... despite the last thing that he heard was his spotter going "inside, inside, inside..."

  • if this crash would happened today nobody would say "huge" or "bad" crash but it did kill a icon of nascar

  • 3 for dale

  • how can hitting a wall at 160mph not seem like a bad accident?

  • @MegaSpudgun

We've all seen much worse. The big ones turn out to be small, and the small turn out to be big.

  • what did he hit his head on to get a skull fracture?

  • @NeedforSpeed142 His seat belt broke from being installed improperly. He died from a basal skull fracture due to his chin hitting the steering wheel.

  • @JD24RULZ hmm usually when you hit your chin on something it causes neck and spinal issues, anyways RIP dale

  • Pure Michigan piano background nice

  • remeberd this when i was 2years old i didnt know what was that but till 2009 i became nascar fan and saw this video and i undertud what happend :(

  • On a different video, you can see that Kenny Scraeder knew DE Sr. had passed away,or that DE was in very bad condition. It's when the TV crew was interviewing him, just as he leaves the medical area.I noticed his comments and facial expressions,he looks like he going to fall apart,as he says,I'm just thinking about "Dale"!Then he walks away. It's really very sad,to me.DE was such a giant and high profile. Also it happens at the Daytona 500, on the LAST LAP.Waltrip winning. It was surreal.RIP

  • r.i.p good ole dale

  • What is the Music playing in the background? Anyone know please? i like it. :P

  • @TTGhookah The Cider House Rules theme.

  • I was 9 years old when I seen this crash. I cried. I couldn't bare the pain of loosing a father. R.I.P intimidator

  • so this is why that's why the left front tire signed by dale himself is worth so much now... dale will be missed forver, plus my dad shook hands with him, and i got to meet him when i was a baby, so we will never forget him :(

  • It was clearly Dale's fault.

  • no helmet?

  • @JEFESHKA Open-face helmet.

  • @nascarfanatic2425 open face helmet, plus no HANS device as at the time, it wasn't mandatory, plus this was the old NASCAR Car, and no Lajoie seat (which was created by former Nationwide series regular Randy LaJoie) and no safer barrier walls to take the brunt of the impact of that wreck. NASCAR got a wake up call after Dale Sr's death, he was the fourth NASCAR driver in all three series to die in a wreck in a span of a year from March 2000 to March 2001.

  • RoselleRat what the hell is wrong with you. He was a great person.

  • I was watching it, and I thought it wasnt that bad, but when he didnt come out, I thought his net was stuck but then they said he was hurt or something, I was in shock because it looked like a crash that I was in back in 2004, and I only broke my wrist.

But Dale Sr. had a skull fracture.

    R.I.P

    The Intimidator

    1956-2001

  • MY FAMILY WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU EARNHARDT SR. #3 FOREVER!

  • We miss you Dale, NASCAR will Never be the same about you. R.I.P #3 2-18-01

  • bang bang crash kabam!

  • We miss you Dale. RIP.

  • I remember whatchin Dale Sr. since I was 3 years old, I even remember whatching the 2001 Daytona 500 when I was 5, and Mike Helton making the speach that would change NASCAR, Dale was my hero then, and still is, but it is just amazing, Dale was a hero, but hero's should'nt die, but when it's your time, it's your time, Dale did what I dream of doin, and he died doin something that he loved. R.I.P. Dale, it was a great ride.

  • @jzk420 go to hell

  • Too bad someone was killed participating in this red neck sport...

  • @Theryougo1 Learn respect.

  • @Theryougo1 tell me one thing that is redneck about NASCAR, and don't say anything about the fans, because everyone know how drunk poeple are.

  • Funniest thing ever. Even funnier than Bin Laden getting killed.

  • @71opeth Fuckin Faggot.

  • @71opeth fuck you

  • @71opeth Go fall in a black hole and die you fucking cunt you have no life and your throat should be slit and the wound should be fucked.

  • @71opeth All u want is attention bc ur mommy never gave you any...so go suck ur dads dick :)

  • @71opeth dude, thats just not even worth saying, you come to a video where poeple pay respect, and all you can do is crack up a joke that I would'nt even laugh at if Dale did'nt die.

  • @71opeth opeth suck

  • The guy I feel bad for is Kenny Schraeder. He saw what had happened. Rest assured, the guy died doing what he loved best. Dale Sr., the best race car driver that ever lived!

  • The guy who joked about Dale having a drinking problem u need to shut ur mouth. That's nothing to joke about. He died doing what he loved and this was a tragedy. So screw u!

  • It Didn't Really Look Like He Hit The Wall That Hard

  • the truth is that dale had a severe drinking problem. the paramedics tested his blood and he was extremely intoxicated that day. more like fail earnhardt. lol classic

  • @TheDagoWop that is not true the HANS device is what didnt save his life

  • @TheDagoWop Yeah, because paramedics always do blood tests on the way to the hospital.

  • im sorry to say but that was the last day i watched nascar dale was the best driver out there hands down i dont care what any of you say he was a great driver and NONE of you are half the driver he was so stop tailkin shit and go back to your honda civic and go chash in to a wall at 120 basicaly head on see if you need life support!!!!!!!! you shoulnt speak bad about the dead no matter what! fuckin jerks

  • @DKWegley who told you that or did you see it ?

  • I was in basic training when this happened. My Drill Sergent was a big NASCAR fan and he told the platoon about it.

  • For all the idiots that don't know how he died, i believe he broke his neck or caused severe damage to it.

  • @s2who

Just because you hate the sport, it doesn't mean you have to trash it YOU FAT FUCK!!!

  • he died frrom a heart attack before he hit the wall too

  • @g75able no he didn't

  • Some people are idiots when it comes to NASCAR

Like the other day my friend said he watched a replay from Daytona and he saw someone crash and guts flying everywhere

He is such a retard when it comes to stuff like this

  • at the time of the crash he was on medication that is no longer legal. one side effect was sudden death in rare cases.......

  • whos the driver evey one hates?

  • @TheTyler0953 nowadays, Tony Stewart lol

  • a sport for fat fuckers to watch...

  • Wat the hell was that he only got hit twice or more guess he was too old for that

  • @TheRigo619 He suffered a basilar skull fracture which can result in leaked brain fluid and/or catastrophic hemorraging. In this case Dale was killed instantly, which isn't surprising when you think about the fact that he slammed into a concrete wall going 150 mph... nothing whatsoever to do with age.

  • it looks to me like his protective harness was not adjusted to a safe degree, too loose

  • R.I.P Dale yor forever in our hearts.

  • How did he survive the 'Dega wreck of '96?? Appearing to be a harder impact and more squared up to the wall than in '01??

  • How on earth did that tiny wall bump leave someone with a life threatening injury? Oh never mind . . . no one could bear listening to all the 'scientists' out there with their under-informed and speculative answers.

Sounds to me like it was simply someone's time to go.

  • @pasodiufwen that "tiny wall bump" isnt actually as tiny as u would think. Watching a race on tv is a lot different than being at the track watching the race because the cameras make the car look much slower than almost 200 mph. So hitting a cement wall at at least 70 mph can severely damage you.... now if u were going 0ver 150 mph and had little time to slow down.... that bump isnt so little any more.

  • how the fuck did he die in that crash ive watch the footage over and over again and theres noy way he should have die.weird ass crash. R.I.P

  • @hpbadboy

    There going fucking fast.

  • @fredlburrows no shit, but look at the tape he didnt flip or anything close to that

  • the crash didnt' even look that serious, i've seen so much worse

  • @flon57 i think becouse he was pretty old and coulnt take that one and he just died

  • @flon57 maybe because he was pretty old and couldn't take that crash R.I.P

  • To Dale Sr. - one of the greatest racers I've ever seen. Rest in peace.

  • why did the other car still go on?

  • @MrRedDynasty are you talking about the other cars* or car 36 ?

  • @Hugskisseshugs # 36

  • Check out the white birds as he crashes almost like they where there take his soul home.

  • In a way, Dale's death served the same purpose as Vladmir Smirnov's did after his death at the 1982 Fencing world championships (broken blade through his mask and into his head)...a significant increase in safety. A tragedy that either sport had to lose someone at the top of the game for it to happen (Smirnov was the defending World and Olympic champ in men's foil).

  • Sterling never came up on Dale. He held his line the whole time. I would imagine Dale took his eyes off the track for a split second to see his 2 cars up ahead. Just shows how much stamina and concentration this sport takes. 1 second can mean life or death. This incident made me a NASCAR fan, ironic...but it was this that once and for all made me realize this isn't the WWF. Its real, and it needs to be respected...by fans and drivers alike. RIP3

  • WOW 10 YEARS TODAY I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S BEEN THAT LONG SINCE WE LOST A GREAT NASCAR DRIVER IT STILL BLOWS ME AWAY THAT HE DIED TODAY IN ONE OF THE MOST BIGGEST RACES WE ALL LOVE AND MISS YOU DALE EARNHARDT "THE INTIMIDATOR" JR WE LOVE YOU AND YOUR DAD IS WITH YOU EVERYDAY AND EVERY RACE ♥ ♥

  • dale was always my least favorite driver. that being said, i never wished this on anyone. i remember watching this race, it didn't look that bad on tv.

  • For you dicks out there Dale was a hero to many people and I was too young to be interested in nasscar at the time I never seen the race. He was the man that made nasscar good and in memory if him this Sunday at the datona 500 on lap 3 let's have a moment of silence in memory of the man many of us miss rest in pice Dale you will always be missed

  • I think if Dale were still alive this chase BS wouldn't have happened...

  • If you pay close attention, you can tell Dale would've probably saved it if Kenny wasn't there. But that's just part of racing. RIP Dale.

  • the 6 people who dislike this need to play in busy traffic.

  • the 6 people who dislike this need to play in busy traffic.

  • A great ICON was lost, and as a life long NASCAR fan i miss Dale in the sport, BUT you have to go back to the old cliche "live by the sword, die by the sword"

Had he not been sandbagging and blocking everyone from 3rd back, he would still be racing today!

  • so did the wall or m&m car kill him

  • @the69ford A combination of both coupled with a failure of the left side of his 5 point racing harness (due to installation other than that recommended of the manufacturer)

  • @the69ford wall

  • i was outside the gates when we heard about the crash, didnt think anything of it until the news came out. I remember thousands of fans dropping flowers on the memorial on the side of the road only a day after. RIP

  • man nascar has developed in safety soo much this crash would barely do anything. just look at the elliot sadler crash at pocono from last year

  • i rember this all too well was watching on t v and still to this day did not seem like that bad a crash to kill some one , but it did and nascar lost a true icon

  • @badtoe6 so true

  • I just knew Sterline Marlin was the one who caused this!

  • @fuckgegg how could sterling have caused that? he was all the way at the edge of the lane and dale drifted into sterling. its a dam shame that hes dead but it wasnt sterlings fault. dale got greedy.

  • @fuckgegg no way....... earnhardt caused his own demise....came down and spun himself into oblivion.

  • Hittin the wall in a race car at anywhere from 100 to 200 is most likely gonna kill ya. Sure u guys might think u know what its like but hittin the wall at over a 100 mph is either gonna kill ya or severly paralyze u... Dale Sr. was the Greatest driver in the world and still is.... The man shall live on in the hearts of Rednecks everywhere.. and for those that doubt hittin the wall at 150+ would kill ya. Try it sometime and tell us how it feels if ya aint dead

  • @garretthex should you please watch 8iQFoRoaKfs

this vid is useful for several things I previously said. first of all you can see the speed of the car at the bottom of the screen. he hit the wall at 188 mph. and most important thing is he hit the wall head on (unlike Earnhardt's crash). Earnhardt's impact was way smoother to Mcdowell's. plus after the impact he rolled over 8 or 9 times. but he climbed up himself and walked away. he wasnt even injured. (maybe minor bruises I dont know)

  • @amokachi31 ok todays modern science in race cars isnt gonna kill ya elliot sadler hit the wall at 190 mph and didnt die nor was he injured

  • @MrAmplover1, its all in the way your hit the wall. you never know if theres still just that one point where you could hit it and it kills ya.

  • @daytona81 that's the bad thing you will NEVER know when or how you'll die in nascar, even nascar is not perfect, but it's a hell of a lot safer....

  • @RandomSpewBros i dont see how thats relivient......

  • @RandomSpewBros Then maybe you shouldn't be watching these videos if you don't like Dale (Not dan, douche), then don'tomment on the vids. God, I hate assholes like this.

  • @RandomSpewBros wow man...even if you dont like the guy....have some fucking respect for the dead...i hope karma gives you a nice bitchslap for what you said...

  • @garretthex amen brother

  • Not any1s falt. If u c allway bak 2when MW& Jr's carsget away;u can c Sr's car "going away." 'Cept year he won HIScars always lost handle@end of Dayt500. he did wonders with bad carbut Last time he was "running blocker." Used his talent 4makin car lanes wide 2 hold off rest & allow DEI cars get away. Drivers around him@the time he lost it=all friends but had2get around him. His line in corner drops in2 Marlin til his wheels dip past yellow line=is a ticket strait2 wall. The impact fatal.

  • @Maladomina well i am a very christian person and you can rest assure that bird dont carry souls to heavan Jesus was in the car with him and He and

dale sr walk out of that car with no sadness

  • those pure white birds (might be doves) flyin over his car

  • man, rusty must thinks its his fault but its really not

  • How come everytime I look at this video I cant believe someone could die from that impact. However sad for the sport. Shame someone died racing again

  • these numbers are the best one on ////NASCAR:

    #24(Jeff Gordan)

    #88{or 8}(Dale Earnhardt Jr.)

    #43(Richard Petty)

    and don't forget the best...

    #3(Dale Earnhardt Sr.)

  • @hersheypup you forgot #48

  • its called a basal skull fracture the base of your skull is broken form your spine

  • who in the fuck is tinys honda come on down to the dirty MO and talk that shit i will show you what a wall is the man did every thing you can do in Nascar and even more so for the people of North Carolina what the fuck have you ever done he was and still is the working mans man so if you want to find out how hard a wall is come down and talk that shit in my home town where the man new you by your name or your face

  • on the further side view...you can see white birds appear right when he crashes...there seagals i think but they looked like doves

  • The way he died is if your head is poped up and pushed forward at the same time it breaks your kneck and will kill you instantly

    RIP Dale Earnhardt Sr. 1951-2001

    Live long Jr.

  • people who make fun of the king of nascar do not know anything about dale #3

  • i watched the race as it happened and fell 2 my knees;hoping he would wave his hand like always...he is the greatest and those people with the smartass comments apparently not nascar fans...i still to this day burn my headlights in memory of him.i cant 4get the date(my moms birthday) :-(

  • to all of the fucking retards that have anything bad or "funny" to say about this, go fuckin fuck urself. this is no laughing matter. Dale Earnhardt died because of this. This is one of the worst moment in NASCAR history. so all'a' you need to shut the fuck up and go try it urself so you can laugh about it when it happens... dumass motherfuckin bitch ass pussies!

  • What didn't dale earnhardt have in his car. A Die hard. LOL

    Even Better

What did Dale Earnhardt and Pink Floyd have in Common? Their greatest hit was the Wall. LMAO

  • @tinyshonda Kid your not funny your just inmature

  • @xXiTzKlutchXx go figure he likes honda....ASIAN

  • @tinyshonda yeah thats a great joke. jk lets see you acomplish halv the stuff he did. he was the best nascar driver nascar had seen go die in a hole

  • @tinyshonda hahahhahahahahahahha

  • @tinyshonda Wow. You really are the lowest of the low...I think everyone here agrees that you should be killed in a violent car crash that sees your head get torn from your body, then run over by a bus =)

  • @tinyshonda I haven't talked about this much since it happened. My Grandson who was 2 at the time,, was watching that race with me. Siting on my lap watching the Daytona 500, it doesn't get any better than that. Then when Dale crashed he knew something was wrong and put his arm around my neck. Just thinking of that and what happened brings tears to my eyes, he knew! Now some smartass, probably 24 or 48 fan want's to say that? one question- Where do you live, for now????????

  • I am completely convinced that he was dead BEFORE he ever hit that wall.

  • @copperhead29 i think that too :(

  • they say his HANS device failed and the force of the impact snapped his neck like a twig, anyway he was one of the best drivers NASCAR ever had, even when he did a small tour over here in the early 90's

  • Omg is he going to be ok?

  • Hmm i dont understand one thing

Its very sad that he died but other guys in nascar in that same year surived alot of flips and their car in to pices or even worse

R,I.P Dale P.S. I was 2 when this happend so i didnt understand a thing + ima latvian only in 2007 i knowed that cause i saw a replay on nascar

  • @monstrs23 its because every since that that happened, they've (they being NASCAR) gotten more protective head and neck gear so that it's more safer and more protective (yes i know they are the same thing). Back then they had just a head helmet (sorta like a hard hat i guess u could say) and not neck wear of face wear or anything protective like that, so when he crashed his head flew up and hit the steering wheel and automaticlly died. Very tradgic... =::(

  • i still dont know how you die from such a mild looking crash..its funny how some drivers survive barbaric car shredding crashes..

  • @juggernautoddball man what if that was u he died in the car and now when dale jr, races his dads car he always wins because his dad is right next to him and he always is

  • @vikingsfanuntilidie you couldn't get any cheesier if you went to Italy.

  • @juggernautoddball I know what you mean I think what happened was something about his head getting thrown back or something in the safety not working...but yeah you really wouln't have thought this would have ended his life :(

  • no, what happened that day, was that when he hit and his head hit the steering wheel, it broke the inside of his head. it's called a basiliar skull fracture. that's what did it, mostly. and yeah, people do have worse crashes than this every day but it was his time to go, and he left this earth doing what he loved. so all the haters, just shut your mouth. it's quite ignorant to talk shit about a dead man. quit startin shit. and get a life.

  • he tried to turn right....haha

  • @brian0140 how is that funny

  • @brian0140 ur a fucken asshole man go rot in hell

  • soo he ramed into the wall and dies? rip but wtf thats not cool ppl crash way worse than this and survive wtf this does add up

  • @hDfearless thats what it looks like yea...

but before that crash drivers didn't have the HANS device (Head And Neck Support)

Dale's cause of death was, when he hit the wall his head (and neck) still kept moving forward though his car stopped in less than 1 second so his head and neck just (sort of) slammed forward on the steering wheel with fatal consequenses.

hope it answered your main q.

    R.I.P. Dale Earnhardt Sr

  • Earnhardt Sr. Deserved to die! it was his time motherfucker!

  • @Zoolander3000 i=its just okay that a legend of the sport and fan favorite 7 time champion dies whats up your butt?

  • @carlover8a yeah, for sure b/c he was a dirty driver.

Can't deny that, i saw it time and again.

  • @Zoolander3000 i hope you didnt make that shitty account just to say that

  • @immortalclaws are you saying my screename is worse than yours? b/c that clearly isn't the case.

  • @Zoolander3000 no and what dose username have to do with it the username is supposed to be dumb what im saying is i hope you didnt create a youtube account just to rip on dale seriously get a life

  • @immortalclaws ok, well that was my other thought, no i didn't create an account to rip on Sr., that was my only comment on him.

I have better things to do than talk about a dead guy.

  • @Zoolander3000 ok then sorry about that

  • how did he die? what happend to him in the crash?
