  • I love karikies

  • Is it true that kakarikis don't use their beaks when climbing around their cage?

If so, that must be funny to watch.

  • @Sableneko Mine kakarikis use it :O Not really often, but they use their beak :p

  • sounds like there goin YAYYYYYY at the begining

  • my kakariki's name is Kiwi too! He isn't very talkative though. He just lightly chirps when I talk to him

  • these are the cutest birds ever... they have so much personality and make the best sounds.

  • I have two kakarikis, a male and a female (they are brothers). The female is very kind. The male is kind when he wants... i.e. he can be on my shoulder playing with something and in the next second he starts biting my ear. Anyone who's able to explain that? If i then show him a seed,he starts whistling..

  • What a strange voice;-)

  • Jeepers Creepers LOL its so cute :D they are beautiful!

  • awwwww my lil kakariki talks too he ses hello budd budd hehehe :) urs are sooo cute

  • Wow never heard one talking before, cute !!!!

  • Even their voices are cuter than other bird's.

  • not allways! they do like to make stupid noises!!!

  • We have a kakariki also called Kiwi they make wonderful pets we have had it 4 weeks and it has already started copying our voices!

  • Hi, congrats on the new Kakariki. To teach it to talk basically you just need to repeat what ever it is you want it to say over and over again until you're sick of saying it lol. It's easier to teach them when younger and males will speak more.

  • We just got a kakariki 2 weeks ago they make wonderful pets lovely bird you got there!

How did you go about training it too talk?

  • cute parrots

  • ooohh... cute...

    my kakarikies screems only...

  • I know of a Lutino Kakariki male, called Kasim.

He talks also, but he says these words.

Yum Yum, Bitey Boy, Bitey Yum Yum, Tickle, Tickle Tum, ill try to get a video of him saying these things, but recently he is more interested in his new female partner.

  • We have a pair of kakarikis (hybrid lutino/pied male and female) the male goes absolutely mad in the morning! the female makes a weird mouse squeaky sound but is ever so tame and will sit on your hand quite happily
