@AMYLINGify：中文的「劍」，by definition，就是雙刃的；說「雙刃劍」等同說「雌性的­阿媽」或「穿在裡面的低褲」，都是語義重覆，廢話是也。英文的 sword 則不同，sword 的刃可單亦可雙，所以 double-edged sword 不是廢話。中文怎樣說好？不妨照意譯：「既可傷敵，亦能傷己」或­「有利也有弊」都可以。

I agree. If we switched the situation: the victims were of another nation and the hijacker was a Hong Kong national, we would face the same racism. We're human and emotions override our rational senses... but we should still be careful of what we say. Yet the most important thing is that the victims rest in peace and the families overcome this tragedy.

@cowfin I'm pretty sure the Hong Kong people aren't being rational to the Filipino population just because the hijacker was a Filipino, but more so the fact that the Filipino SWAT team was incompetent, couldn't do anything to stop the victims from dying. We thought that the Filipino government and the police force did not take this matter into serious consideration and did not put the victims lives into first priority.You can't really say"let switch the situation"its just denial of what happened

@aznspirit88 You're right, HK probably has a better way of dealing with the issue if the situation had swapped around. But cowfin's point stands that many HK people are still being irrational, hating a whole race for an accident that were caused by certain individuals who were incompetent. As much as I'd like to send my regards to the family of those who died, a point to be stressed is that many Filipinos live in HK... Just imagine their everyday life during this time getting so many evil stares
