  • The six camels on the side of the aircraft are the number of targets destroyed in DESERT STORM. This aircraft was decommissioned just after the Haitian operation RESTORE DEMOCRACY. It was NOT used "mainly against Muslims". In fact it flew in the Vietnam war where six of them were lost to enemy fire with some 50 airmen losing their lives in them. The plane had the "Angel of Death" name long long before it engaged any targets in the mid east. I know--I have almost 3000hours flying this model!

  • if you consider that this weapon has been used almost only against "the muslims" and Azrael is believed to be the Archangel of Death and Lord of Naz'iats (grim reapers) in islamic belief of "other side" you can see the sarcasm...

  • I got to go in an AC-130 Specter and a C130 In North Carolina and Camp Lajune North Carolina, United States. It was the best experience I have ever had.. of course I didnt get to fly in it but I got to walk around, sit in the cock pitt, go inside the TV room, look at the interier from a soldiers view. I am only 13, and I will never forget that day.

  • I'm in the military right now, and I am training to be a fixed wing aircraft mechanic. I'm either wanting to work on an F-18 or the C-130, but I'll see what they'll give me. I might be going to Cherry point, but that's also something I'm waiting for now.

  • Awesome! my passion is flying, ever since my first flight in a Plane when I was 4 I have just loved the thought of flying ever since and i have been talking to Lt. Jacob Nelson (my step-uncle) about Joining the USAF at the Age of 17 and flying by 21. It's such a marvelous thing to be flying, but I do hope I am not a Jet Pilot, I have taken the US09AFS (United States 2009 Updates Airforce simulation test) and the only thing I am terrified is running off the carrier while trying to land.

  • I'm not sure if they do alot of carrier operations if any. That role is for Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, mostly Navy though. Sure there has been some instances like the Doolittle raid, but that was more of a joint operation that required a big plane like a B-25. If you are thinking about, when you get to high school, some areas have air force ROTC. First you might have to enlist before becoming an officer. College credits help you become an officer. Once you're an officer, you can fly.

  • Cool thanks for the Information! - And thanks! But I can't imagine me being in the United States Marine Corpse, It takes a lot of loyalty-Strength-Faith-Courage-and Honor to be in there; Marines do the Top of The Top besides the United States Army and United States Airforce. But I can see my self in the Navy and Airforce Some day - But 1 question: Do you choose your job? How does the enrollment work in the Military Signup.

  • Well, I thought the same thing at one time, but with commitment and motivation, it has made me get through boot camp and combat training, and even the lousy guard that I was assigned to do. As for jobs, you get to choose which field your in, and then when they give you a sub-field, you can make a wish list of what you want to do. If they approve it. Ex. I choose aircraft mechs, they assigned me to Fixed-wing airframe. I might be able to choose what aircraft I can work on. I want the f-18.

  • As for military enrollment like ROTC, I'm not sure, because I never did it, I just went to recruiting outings. You'll probably have to research things like ROTC. Also, consider being a helo pilot as well, but if you choose something like a fighter, it's probably more of a challenge to be a fighter pilot. If you want to be in an airplane while enlisted, try aircrew; but they do have fairly tough training, you have to be a good swimmer.

  • Good, I do want to be an Aircrew - Maby a Gunship aircrew man, but I do want a Job were I can fly and spectate over the enemy, without being detected.. and I am a great swimmer.

  • And it's alright about the training, I will work as hard as I can to serve my country. -- Look up : Till' I collapse, by eminem and watch at the beginning and Eminem states something that I always look up to when ever I feel like Im just going to quit. Thats what I live by. And By the way --- how much are your being paid for your enlistment?

  • Not much, but's it not like you have to pay for everything, you also get plenty of benefits. But the lower enlisted don't get paid very much, not until you become an E-5 which is Sergeant. Officers get paid much more. A second lieutenant (or Ensign) gets around the same pay as an E-7 I believe.

  • Great but How much would You end up being paid -- around $20,000 or so?

  • Right now as an E-2, I'm getting paid about $1,500 per month, yeah that's not a whole lot. Higher enlisted and junior officers get paid around $3,000 per month. You get paid twice a month and each pay check is half that of the total paycheck. After E-1 you are eligable to pay raises every year do to your time in service. Plus you can get a GI bill, a college tuition pay, chow hall allowance, and other pay benefits from military service. Once you retire, jobs will want to look at your resume

  • I honestly thought Military Services would pay alot more... But would they cover like Insurence? house payments? Ect.

  • Alot of medical things, as for housing, you probably need to have on base housing, but I'm not sure because I'm not there yet.

  • alright... - Still thought $1,500 a month really isn't much for Helping your country.. My dad makes $11,000.00 a week and he works for wells fargo, I honestly think soldiers should be paid more for risking their lives.

  • Well I could see how Wells Fargo could do it but $11,000 A WEEK!! What does he do?! An O-10 (General) makes 17,000 per month. Yeah, I believe that more should go to the military instead of a bunch of other crap. But, there are a lot more of E-1s to E-3s than there are anybody else.

  • Yeah and The Most Combat he has to do is Help a Customer with their Banking problems.. and he is a President of the Banking Section of the Company. But for a Plain Pilot or Pilots as I should say, how Much would they get paid?

  • I remeber now, I was doing some research on the Air Forces website months ago and I found that they had a payscale for all the ranks. It's the same pay for all branches (at least it should be). Pilots fall under officers usually from 2nd lieutenants to Majors or Lt. Colonels.

  • Oh well Still its not alot of money .

  • Yeah, pretty much the only way is if the MOS you choose has a sign on bonus, or reenlistedment bonuses that I've heard of which are many thousands of dollars. Some of the jobs you do in the military will get you big bucks in the civilian world plus jobs will be more likely to choose one from the military.

  • That sounds very very good.. That is 'From what I heard' the BEST way to start off your adult life is from the Military because there is so many advantages you get from it. And Just wondering -- During the Military if you are 18 - will you have time and to attend college and half a half time job?

  • Oh, yeah, but your not going to be able to get a half time job, but think of a military career like school (as long as your not in the field) weekends off, every holiday off, go to work at 6 to 6:30 and go home around 4. If your commited to your education you'll do it, and make sure you do it early so you have better opportunity later on. Right now I haven't signed for any college because I'm still in training.

  • That's understandable, And plus you get the title of saying your in america's armed forces.

  • @KH990j Sorry for not replying.. I am really trying to improve me C Average in School, I have also been looking into Military School at Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA) In Virginia. It is near Washington, DC I am pretty sure, or Fredricksburg, I have only heard Some Details.. But I might go there with one of my good friends just too improve my mental and physical self along with my academics and the advantages you get when you graduate.

  • That's cool, hope it works out well.

  • @KH990j yeah me too, me too, we have had a long conversation ON youtube, just scroll down and look how much haha.

  • I Went to Dayton 2 times and this thing was the reason I Went 2 times

  • I have one of the casings from the 105 howitzer fired from this aircraft the first night that it flew in combat with that weapon. There were twenty rounds fired and one of them was preserved in chrome, ethced with the "Azrael" nose art and eventually given to me.

  • That's pretty cool, It'd sure be neat to have one of those.

  • Pretty big plane now ain't it. I wouldn't want to mess with you if you were flying it.
