Its okay to play around with. if you gig get something built like a tank.I have owned mine for almost 3 years,and the volume/wah pedal is very cheap it tends to loosen up. and the switch up or down, tends to stick.there are two tension pedal screws,  and one is only accessible the other has no room to get a Phillips head screw driver into,so I went out and bought a wah pedal to use as main,and now I only use the rp,s pedal for volume only save some cash and will probably get a boss me70 or oth.

i have the rp50 and it turns off by pressing the two blue buttons at the same time. if u press them for like 2 seconds u activate the tuner. i dont know if its the same for the rp80 though

I wish, it doesn't work for the RP80. If you press the 2 buttons it says bY. I read the manual, it says to turn it off, unplug the power cord or input cable.

I own the same digitech guitar processor but I really don't know how to set the tuner. I've tried lots of times and nothing. I also read the manual description and it says I have to press both blue pedals at the same time and hold em for 2 seconds but it only appears 'Bypass' mode. It also says that sometimes I need to install a stupid software or something, I'm not pretty sure about that! How do I put the tuning mode?? I need help! I will appreciate an answer!! thanx a lot!!

you can set the pedal modifying the "expression value". it can be used to enable/disable the volume, enable/disable the gain etc... etc... i used this pedal in my video also .... real good multieffect for the price... I would buy it again

however I will say that the RP-80 you have to be careful with the buttons, because they're molded into the Chassis, so if the connecting space breaks, you'll have to buy a new Chassis from Harmon music, but it's only like $15 anyway

rp80 has a built in expression pedal but 50 has a place in the back to put one in, i don't think they make the rp80 anymore, but they have the same effects and amps

if you want to use the effects only then you have to go to each channel except the "chorus/mod" channel and set them all to off or "OF" on the display. When you press both of the blue smaller pedals as suggested below it will bypass everything including the effects! hope this helps!

You just pick a preset number you want to use, turn everything to "off" and then turn "on" what you want to use for that preset. You cannot use some things at the same time but that's in the manual.

Great work. I am a guitar player, a Dream Theater fan and I produce progressive rock myself. I used to play with RP80 long years back. Now it rests in the closet and I use it very rarely. I advice you to get a better processor because RP80 is basic for your playing, you pretty good. Keep rocking.

I have a quick question: Can you use the whammy feature to bring the notes an octave down? I'm looking for a cheapo (probably temporary) alternative to a Digitech Whammy.

yeah, it does have a real wah, but you gotta mess around with the settings a bit. If you manage to find an RP80, put the pick-up setting on Cr. (its crybaby) then the expression setting on AH (for wah) if you can't find an RP80 i think there is a newer model called the RP90

It DOES have one but do not get it for that. The expression pedal is VERY SMALL. I cannot tell you how many times I've pressed the "next" button when trying to hit the expression pedal.

No PC connectivity whatsoever. You'd have to get one of the newer versions which is possibly quite worth it because it gives you recording software as well as a connection to the PC for recording etc.

voodoo child would just be a low distorion with very low high... and you would use the wah wah pedal... i dont have this pedal yet so i cant tell you like the exact settings but yes.. basically it would just have to be a low distorion with a low high and the wah wah...
