LOL, you might want to break out that English dictionary. Let me help you with ONE word you spelled wrong, "Forth" Which should have been "Fourth". HAHAHA YOU FUCKING FAIL! Your comments make no sense and are horribly put together, no wonder no one takes you serious. You're a joke.

Tank for tank, these Stugs III & IV gave loads of grief to anyone that happened to get in their gun sights. One of the most successful and affordable tank designs out there at the time.
@Thespeakerofmanytru8 the tiger makes sense: Its heavy and still quite agile for its -for that time- incredible weight. while the king tiger like E-100 are way too slow and too large, they can barely move. And also the StuG like the jagdpanther are excellent anty tank platform if they can shoot at range but they are weak when being attacked from the sides because they simply dont have a turret
@rycerz21111 this was no AT gun. The Stug was meant to be driving artillery in combined actions with the infantry. Maybe they some of them took a few shots at a tank but if they carried AP shot is very doubtful.
@ZerokillerOppel1 totally wrong...it was constructed as infantry-support, but was mainly used as tankkiller. it was low, it was hard to see and hard to hit and delivered a hard punch. They carried 50% HE and 50% AP-shots. There is absolutly NO doubt about that. Prior the PIVF2, the StuG III was the one tank that could kill a T34 at long distance. So yes-the StuG WAS a tankkiller-and it was very good in this role
@smonyboy It is not a tank... It's an assault gun... a self propelled artillery. It's not meant to have a turret but a superstructure, with reinforced front armor which is intended to be always directed towards the enemy... First it had the infantry support role, a simple assault gun with its own drive and better protection for the artillery crew. It's only later that the germans realized it could be used against armored targers, so they upgraded its main weapon. So, basically
@preedraag Technically speaking, it is a tank too, as not all tanks have turrets. The first tanks didn't have turrets either, but guns carried in sponsons at the side, nor does the S tank have a turret, but resembles the stug in appearance. Sorry to get into symantics here, but a turret does not make a tank, nor lack off exclude the use off the name tank.
@lambhdeargh ... the name itself says it all... StuG ... SturmGeschütz... German for AssaultGun... Meant as a piece of artillery, a tank destroyer. If you are able to put enough amor and a chain drive at a plane, it wouldn´t be a tank. By definition of its name it is no tank... Sry but the bad english, i´m German.
@Alphatier86 As the very first tank was a self propelled artillery vehicle used to support infantry, the same as the stuG, then it fits the description of tank. Giving branch names to the vehicle is only highlighting its use in a tecnical arena, but underneath all the nomclature it is ultimately a tank hence the use of "technically" and "symantics" in my original post.
Alot of the equipment's downfall was that they were too well engineered....specialized parts that when broken were hard to replace, and too long and too expensive to produce.

great infantry support tank! panzergrenadiers had a great advantage when they were fighting alongside with a StuG 3 or 4. just a brilliant piece of german engineering!
wood obviousy if a iraq insurgent with a rpg or ied can waste an abrams a 75 high velocity in the side can to ,i think you are deceived by us mythology the hard facts remain google search destroyed tanks in iraq then come back with your comments.
@nissmoguy a stug can at best score a mkill on a abrams by taking out the tracks or driving sprokets, there's no way that a 70 years old 75 mm gun could pierce trough the armor of any modern MBT
@nissmoguy "hundreds" you say, and where have you got those facts from? How in the gods name would a gun from the 1940s go against a tank from the 1980s-2000s hmmm? Cold War gear was developed with a WW2 style war in mind, therefore it would be superior in every way to a German tanks. If CW>WW2 and Information Age>Cold War, therefore IF>WW2.
@nissmoguy .......i detect a hidden aganda....you are honestly saying that "hundreds" of Abrams have been destroyed by enemy fire, well according to other sources .....Abrams losses for 2003 to 2006 amount to 20, which includes breakdowns and wear and tear, also any RPG kills would be down to the RPG 29 which can kill any modern MBT because its a "modern" weapon.
@bazeye Adding to that, most Abrams tanks were lost due to human error and/or service life, one was driven into a river after the driver hadn't slept for a whole 72 hours.
If I recall correctly, the StuG still holds the record for most AFV kills in a single war. Well armored, good gun, fairly fast, and has an excellent profile. If I had to be a tanker in WW2, this would be my tank. Just look at my youtube name..
@Stugace The StuG was a sweet AFV, but it was usually manned by artillerymen, not tankers, except late in the war. As the elite of the artillery, the best men manned the StuGs, and IIRC the artillery arm protested vehemently when Guderian wanted the StuGs to be organized under the panzer arm, as that would deprive artillerymen of their best way to earn the Knights Cross.
@Stugace I think its cause it came up across the Soviet T-26 and they killed like 20 thousand of them cause they were junk I think thats most the reason
@DaManzMoney the t-26 would have been second line equipment when the Stug iii was used as a tank destroyer so no it wouldnt have come across alot of t-26's
@wood1155 No No No T-26 was front line look it up google it on June 1rst 1941 the Soviets had 10,000 T 26's and lost most of them in the first 5 months of the war with the Germans mainly to artilrey and air strikes and alot broke down. They were used in 41 in teh Battle of Moscow, Staingrad, and the Caucasus in 42 and on the Leningead fromt they were used till 44 and they were still using them in the Jap battle in Manchuria in 45
@Stugace And maybe it's because of the relative ease it was produced in comparison to other tanks? During the last years, Panzer and Grenadier divisions replaced their tanks with SP guns maybe that's why?
@TheCoalescent "The German military was the most stylish and advanced army to ever conquer Europe" you forgot to mention that the German military was also the most cruel. brutal, inhuman and bloodthirsty army to ever conquer Europe.
@gunzcontrol this is ethically not true. even other armies, even the us in guantanamo, vietnam and the british army as they conquered there "empire" had killed millions of ppl in the same disgusting, brutal way. this is not an excusing for the germans but history is full of those might-greedy armies. not to forget the so-called red army, which has tortured hundreds of thousand ppl - old ppl, women, children - to death after tey raped them.
Please list any sources that show the U.S. and British killed millions and MILLIONS of people as you claim. Please do show. But yes, every country has blood on it's hands, but you exaggerate quite a bit and comparing anything the U.S. and U.K. did to that of Nazi German or the Soviet Union is ridiculous.
Thousands ? Stalin killed around 66 million people in his lifetime.. A lot of people dont know this and only think about the Germans . Sad how people are taught these days..
Thats only some USA\Europe propaganda. Yea, Stalin reforms killed about 5 millons, but not so much as u sad. However, he made a huge, strong country, which called USSR
@1ownjoo2 Stalin never killed 66 million people. How can he personally do that? What is he like 1000 years old?? Think before write idiot. Stalin caused 13 millions to die in his rule under Soviet Union. Nothing more or less stop making up stuff
@1ownjoo2 Yes you see, you have the American version 120 million death, and then we have European version 60 to 80 million death. Then we have the ACTUAL facts that it is 13 million death under Stalins rule cause you gotta be really fucking bad at math if you some how managed to pull out 60 or 120 million deaths caused by Stalin in Soviet Union, then at the time their population would have been 150 million if that happened. They never reach 300 million people in the 70s.
@gunzcontrol That is simply ignorant. There have been no noble, kind or nerciful armies to conquer Europe. What ever extreme's the German's were capable of during WW 2 due to the Nazies were modest in comparison to what the Soviet Armies did to their own troops and civilians let alone to the German's and their allies. It is in great part a result of western propaganda that we hold the Japanese and German's up as models of brutality . This is not to excuse them but to ask for some balance.
@scottduncan44 bullshit, if it was them to conquer us we would certainly have not existed by now, because they deemed us not worthy to live. Germans are something unique. They are like no other nation. I'm convinced these people have very serious mental issues. The long and the short of it is, these people always will have to be watched closely and never to be given modern weaponry nor enough freedom to obtain it.
@gunzcontrol such dumb generalization is a sign of mental inability. cut us some slack plz, very most ppl who were truely involved in war crimes are dead by now. we are one of the leading democracies with a transparency index higher than that of most other modern nations, we're valueing human rights in our constitution as had our ancestors before the damn nazis came to ruin us. greetings from evil germany. we're so evil! EVIIIIIL!!! *goes into his cellar, building a doomsday weapon* jerk...
@darkawakening01 Germany now looks nothing like Germany 60 years ago. It's silly to say that. Most of the ones who committed crimes died before the end of hte war, much less now. If anything, Britain has more blood on its hands than Germany from the past.
HOWEVER, I do say, you had a habit of kicking France's ass every 30 years, which is awesome. Next time France gets invaded, we Americans should go "we're not a world police force, not our problem" and let 'em learn German. Germany > France
@redreaper2020 we developed a habit of kicking france's ass because they started (with Louis XIV onwards) to invade our borders and were completely unable to accept that the Rhine belongs to us period. well they had to learn it the hard way... but thats history. i have no reservations about france today. they are a valued partner in europe.
@darkawakening01 doesn't change that they're the biggest whiners in Europe. Christ, if Russia had ever invaded West Germany, France would have send them a "strongly-worded letter threatening trade sanctions", while they sat with their thumb up their ass waiting to see how it played out..
And yes, the Rhine & the Ruhr does belong to Germany.
@redreaper2020 aaah wouldnt bet on that.. i mean they had their share of successful wars. with proper leadership a french army shouldnt be underestimated. the main reason the wehrmacht beat the frenchies in WWII so fast was their poor officer corps and obsolete tactics and over-reliance on colonial troops. well.. the most annoying thing on yt are those pity russians hate-raping germany and ignoring their own glorious leader stalin who wasnt a saint at all. murdered way more ppl than hitler...
@darkawakening01 the only time France has decisively won in warfare has been when they're fighting other Frenchmen, or they're having other countries do all the fighting! WW1 they almost lost, save for the Brits (we didn't do much that war), WW2 they lost except for the Brits and the US and Russia, Franco-Prussian war they lost, 1815 they lost, 1812 they lost...
Stalin was far more evil than Hitler. I know for a fact Stalin planned on invading Europe by 1943.
@Cougar545x39 their command structure wasn't superior. their tactics caught both the western allies and the soviets with their pants down but they failed because of Hitler and the OKH/OKW.
what you say is true, but dont forget if britain had lost the battle of britain most of europe may still be under the nazis or even the soviets! i kno all the major power where needed for ultimate victory but i often feel britain is forgotten for standing alone against the nazis. However, as you say, many factors contributed to winning WW2. Unless you are an american in which case you one the war all on your own lol :-)
Allies advanced at 3x regular tech growth speed in technology during the war. Germany up until 42 was running about 5x, by 44, they were making ten years worth of tech advancement each year. By 45 they had stealth aircraft prototypes, were working on the nuke, had the V-1, V2, V3, and multistage missiles like the Rheinbotne.
If wehadn't broken enigma, the war would have lasted until 46-47.
its really funny you think that if "you" hadnt broken enigma, the war wouldve lasted until 1946-1947
by the time the battle of kursk and the battle of stalingrad were lost germany was fucked, nothing could be done about it, the USSR simply had more efficient technology and more human resources, hell 3 quarters of the german forces were fighting in the eastern front and they couldnt do shit agaisnt the soviet advance
@joseaca I know Nazis lost by 43. you could have had lasers and lost then (they almsot did lol)
But the later rusian defeats of very late 41-42 managed to save the equipment necessary by knowing the attacks were going to come by the allies. if they hadn't had that equipment, they would have never had the equipment necessary to halt the advance.
Enigma was broken by Poles, UK, and US. That's US - the allies. I'm american - an ally. It was mostly the poles and UK tho w/ US electronics.
@joseaca lol didn't sound rude to me, i hate those ppl too. Good to see informed people XD
Really, in honesty, the was was pretty much won by russia. They took the brunt of hte conflict, they took the losses. Other nations were pivitol, though, no doubt.
But yes, there were far more factors. Hitler's poor leadership, the invasion of russia (blitzkrieg does not work over long distances), germany's slow industrial buildup, advent of strategic bombing; these i'm sure we can agree on. XD
oh and lets not forget hitler's incredibly smart decision of letting 300000 soldiers escape during the battle of dunkirk
hell it wouldnt be too crazy to say german officers were far more pissed off at hitler than allied generals were, mostly becuz given the chance, allied generals were allowed shot hitler in the face
Maybe because reall working german tanks are hard to get, maybe because the people who worked so hard to restore these vehicles don't want to see them damaged in a movie.

Go and troll elsewhere please !!!
bazeye 11 months ago
@bazeye Adding to that, most Abrams tanks were lost due to human error and/or service life, one was driven into a river after the driver hadn't slept for a whole 72 hours.

If I recall correctly, the StuG still holds the record for most AFV kills in a single war. Well armored, good gun, fairly fast, and has an excellent profile. If I had to be a tanker in WW2, this would be my tank. Just look at my youtube name..
Stugace 1 year ago
@Stugace The StuG was a sweet AFV, but it was usually manned by artillerymen, not tankers, except late in the war. As the elite of the artillery, the best men manned the StuGs, and IIRC the artillery arm protested vehemently when Guderian wanted the StuGs to be organized under the panzer arm, as that would deprive artillerymen of their best way to earn the Knights Cross.
Zajuts149 1 year ago
@Stugace I think its cause it came up across the Soviet T-26 and they killed like 20 thousand of them cause they were junk I think thats most the reason
DaManzMoney 1 year ago
@DaManzMoney the t-26 would have been second line equipment when the Stug iii was used as a tank destroyer so no it wouldnt have come across alot of t-26's
wood1155 1 year ago
@wood1155 No No No T-26 was front line look it up google it on June 1rst 1941 the Soviets had 10,000 T 26's and lost most of them in the first 5 months of the war with the Germans mainly to artilrey and air strikes and alot broke down. They were used in 41 in teh Battle of Moscow, Staingrad, and the Caucasus in 42 and on the Leningead fromt they were used till 44 and they were still using them in the Jap battle in Manchuria in 45
DaManzMoney 1 year ago
@Stugace And maybe it's because of the relative ease it was produced in comparison to other tanks? During the last years, Panzer and Grenadier divisions replaced their tanks with SP guns maybe that's why?

TheCoalescent 1 year ago
@TheCoalescent "The German military was the most stylish and advanced army to ever conquer Europe" you forgot to mention that the German military was also the most cruel. brutal, inhuman and bloodthirsty army to ever conquer Europe.
gunzcontrol 5 months ago
@gunzcontrol Sure.
TheCoalescent 5 months ago
@gunzcontrol this is ethically not true. even other armies, even the us in guantanamo, vietnam and the british army as they conquered there "empire" had killed millions of ppl in the same disgusting, brutal way. this is not an excusing for the germans but history is full of those might-greedy armies. not to forget the so-called red army, which has tortured hundreds of thousand ppl - old ppl, women, children - to death after tey raped them.
pls think before writing.

Panteraforever67 4 months ago

Thousands ? Stalin killed around 66 million people in his lifetime.. A lot of people dont know this and only think about the Germans . Sad how people are taught these days..
1ownjoo2 3 months ago 23
@1ownjoo2
oh rly?
Thats only some USA\Europe propaganda. Yea, Stalin reforms killed about 5 millons, but not so much as u sad. However, he made a huge, strong country, which called USSR

@1ownjoo2 Stalin never killed 66 million people. How can he personally do that? What is he like 1000 years old?? Think before write idiot. Stalin caused 13 millions to die in his rule under Soviet Union. Nothing more or less stop making up stuff
SMGJohn 1 week ago
@SMGJohn
Not making anything up the number vary widly, your is on the low end
1ownjoo2 1 week ago
@1ownjoo2 Yes you see, you have the American version 120 million death, and then we have European version 60 to 80 million death. Then we have the ACTUAL facts that it is 13 million death under Stalins rule cause you gotta be really fucking bad at math if you some how managed to pull out 60 or 120 million deaths caused by Stalin in Soviet Union, then at the time their population would have been 150 million if that happened. They never reach 300 million people in the 70s.
SMGJohn 1 week ago
@SMGJohn
The population of the Soviet Union in 1938 was 168 million.....
1ownjoo2 1 week ago
@gunzcontrol That is simply ignorant. There have been no noble, kind or nerciful armies to conquer Europe. What ever extreme's the German's were capable of during WW 2 due to the Nazies were modest in comparison to what the Soviet Armies did to their own troops and civilians let alone to the German's and their allies. It is in great part a result of western propaganda that we hold the Japanese and German's up as models of brutality . This is not to excuse them but to ask for some balance.
scottduncan44 5 months ago
@scottduncan44 bullshit, if it was them to conquer us we would certainly have not existed by now, because they deemed us not worthy to live. Germans are something unique. They are like no other nation. I'm convinced these people have very serious mental issues. The long and the short of it is, these people always will have to be watched closely and never to be given modern weaponry nor enough freedom to obtain it.
gunzcontrol 5 months ago
@gunzcontrol such dumb generalization is a sign of mental inability. cut us some slack plz, very most ppl who were truely involved in war crimes are dead by now. we are one of the leading democracies with a transparency index higher than that of most other modern nations, we're valueing human rights in our constitution as had our ancestors before the damn nazis came to ruin us. greetings from evil germany. we're so evil! EVIIIIIL!!! *goes into his cellar, building a doomsday weapon* jerk...
darkawakening01 5 months ago
@darkawakening01 Germany now looks nothing like Germany 60 years ago. It's silly to say that. Most of the ones who committed crimes died before the end of hte war, much less now. If anything, Britain has more blood on its hands than Germany from the past.
HOWEVER, I do say, you had a habit of kicking France's ass every 30 years, which is awesome. Next time France gets invaded, we Americans should go "we're not a world police force, not our problem" and let 'em learn German. Germany > France
redreaper2020 5 months ago
@redreaper2020 we developed a habit of kicking france's ass because they started (with Louis XIV onwards) to invade our borders and were completely unable to accept that the Rhine belongs to us period. well they had to learn it the hard way... but thats history. i have no reservations about france today. they are a valued partner in europe.
darkawakening01 5 months ago
@darkawakening01 doesn't change that they're the biggest whiners in Europe. Christ, if Russia had ever invaded West Germany, France would have send them a "strongly-worded letter threatening trade sanctions", while they sat with their thumb up their ass waiting to see how it played out..
And yes, the Rhine & the Ruhr does belong to Germany.
redreaper2020 5 months ago
@redreaper2020 aaah wouldnt bet on that.. i mean they had their share of successful wars. with proper leadership a french army shouldnt be underestimated. the main reason the wehrmacht beat the frenchies in WWII so fast was their poor officer corps and obsolete tactics and over-reliance on colonial troops. well.. the most annoying thing on yt are those pity russians hate-raping germany and ignoring their own glorious leader stalin who wasnt a saint at all. murdered way more ppl than hitler...
darkawakening01 5 months ago

Many of the the late-war Stug-IIIs and IVs left the factory in a plain yellow scheme. The camo for most of those tanks was applied in the field.
I'd like to see one in a speckled Ambush camo scheme.

There is a few Stug III tanks in running condition in Finland. Some of them are also in the war movie "Tali-Ihantala 1944" from 2007.

luckily we (german) lsot the war!
but i have to admit those engineers where way ahead of their time (Tiger I&II V2 etc)

Engineering speeds up during war.
Some rough figures:
Allies advanced at 3x regular tech growth speed in technology during the war. Germany up until 42 was running about 5x, by 44, they were making ten years worth of tech advancement each year. By 45 they had stealth aircraft prototypes, were working on the nuke, had the V-1, V2, V3, and multistage missiles like the Rheinbotne.
If wehadn't broken enigma, the war would have lasted until 46-47.
Combine those facts and just wonder ;0)
dvdprui 1 year ago
@dvdprui
its really funny you think that if "you" hadnt broken enigma, the war wouldve lasted until 1946-1947
by the time the battle of kursk and the battle of stalingrad were lost germany was fucked, nothing could be done about it, the USSR simply had more efficient technology and more human resources, hell 3 quarters of the german forces were fighting in the eastern front and they couldnt do shit agaisnt the soviet advance
joseaca 1 year ago
@joseaca I know Nazis lost by 43. you could have had lasers and lost then (they almsot did lol)
But the later rusian defeats of very late 41-42 managed to save the equipment necessary by knowing the attacks were going to come by the allies. if they hadn't had that equipment, they would have never had the equipment necessary to halt the advance.
Enigma was broken by Poles, UK, and US. That's US - the allies. I'm american - an ally. It was mostly the poles and UK tho w/ US electronics.

im sorry if i sounded rude, i simply thought you were one of those guys who thinks "US WON THE WAR"
i mean theres a reason why its called WORLD war 2
it was a global conflict, involving most countries and all of the great powers
even then i still think there were far more factors involved in germany's defeat
joseaca 1 year ago
@joseaca lol didn't sound rude to me, i hate those ppl too. Good to see informed people XD
Really, in honesty, the was was pretty much won by russia. They took the brunt of hte conflict, they took the losses. Other nations were pivitol, though, no doubt.
But yes, there were far more factors. Hitler's poor leadership, the invasion of russia (blitzkrieg does not work over long distances), germany's slow industrial buildup, advent of strategic bombing; these i'm sure we can agree on. XD
dvdprui 1 year ago
@dvdprui
oh and lets not forget hitler's incredibly smart decision of letting 300000 soldiers escape during the battle of dunkirk
hell it wouldnt be too crazy to say german officers were far more pissed off at hitler than allied generals were, mostly becuz given the chance, allied generals were allowed shot hitler in the face

Maybe because reall working german tanks are hard to get, maybe because the people who worked so hard to restore these vehicles don't want to see them damaged in a movie.
