This guy is definitely NOT the answer. The people who "love" him seem to be people that maybe vacationed in SF a couple of years ago. Or worse, ditzy chicks who think he's an effective civil servant because "they think he's hot - luv you :) luv you :0)" And the wealthy love him because he bends over for them.
News flash! SF is in crappy shape financially, the public transpo system is BROKEN, the roads are in worse shape than ever and it seems there's a homeless person for every street corner.
What...so now you're a Kennedy with a heapin'-helpin' of Obama?....LOL!!! Face it...no one is going to vote for lying, wife-cheating douchebag. Just ask Villaraigosa.
Gavin Newsom hates the poor and helped turn SF into a playground for the rich. He's nothing but a typical politician who will work for his fellow rich cronies.
I love this ad. It empasizes exactly what Californians have at stake in the upcoming election. I'm assuming this is the first of a series of ads for Newsom that will lay out his comprehensive vision for California. It's hardly reasonable to ask that a campaign ad be as dense with information as a bill proposal in the assembly--too much info makes people's eyes glaze over and tune out.
Who does this guy think he is? San Francisco is a cess pool. Homeless people everywhere, awful crime, expensive public transit and parking, and all manner of other social issues. If that is the kind of change he's going to bring to California, he can keep it.
All whats and no whys. Talks about changing the constitution and reducing the 2/3rds majority, but to what end if you don't know the implied reasons? Talk about your vision, not things people can disagree on with you.
Changing the 2/3rds majority that cripples our state in a budgetary limbo IS changing the constitution. That's what it's referring too, but not many are aware that it would take a change to the state constitution to do that. The ad sounds ambiguous in that respect if you're not informed of this fact.
I like this guy AND what he stands for and really want him to get elected -- I plan to vote for him -- but this ad is way too cheesy, the "that wills" just beg to be mocked... please put something together that I can put on my facebook!!!
slogan win, editorial fail. big fan of the mayor, if he can do for CA what he did for SF, wed be the golden state, once more. however, he needs a new video editor, the fade out at the end was terrible. people will read that in many ways, consciously and subconsciously.
About four too many "that will" and the fading audio on the speaker at the end felt like a mistake. I like Mr. Newsom.. I support his campaign... and I hope he comes up with some better spots.

Don't like the fake voiceover at the beginning, and it's a weak ad in general.

I think he also wants to change the state constitution because of all the amendments, right?

This comercial sucks like the job that you have done as mayor.

Reminiscent of JFK with its use of B&W. Just saying.
On another note, time could have been spent explaining the proposed Constitutional Convention Amendments - there are a couple afoot.
