  • @ZicoEightyTwo. Is that all you know how to say? Please. Oh my feelings are so hurt from someone like you seeking attention in a negative way because you weren't hugged as a child. How was the orphanage life? Seems no one taught you how to respect anyone. Especially yourself. Sorry you grew up a bastard.

  • @Track14...since you feel this way, a criminal wont attack you haha. Yeah right...you will be their first target because you are easy prey lol. Gi home, go to bed, and shit up haha your comment is STUPID! Because a cop will show up to your 911 call, with a gun. Persecuted for carrying a gun in public.!? What about the REAL THUGS who do want is unarmed? It just makes it easier for them!! Dont tell me i cant defend my family, in public!

  • @zicoEightyTwo. Why would anyone want to have a gun around children? Lol dumbest question ever...I am a Va resident you halflife. I am well aware of the dangers in the world and sick minded people prey on innocent children, and if you think that the lawful carry of a gun is stupid around kids, then you havent been stricken by reality yet.

  • @135yota Stricken with reality? Sounds like you are a product of failed education. Do us all a favor and go fuck yourself bitch.

  • kudos to yall exersise your rights to carry alot of people say things negative about it one because they live places where they dont have the rights to open carry or just cant own a gun period i see nothing wrong with it one comment said somthing about kids being around what does that mean i am a father and I carry every day i prefer concealed Ive had achp for as long as I can remember My children are educated on guns and gun safety and are proud to have someone that will protect them

  • I fuckin LOVE guns, but why the fuck would this asshole carry a gun to a park where there are kids? Leave it to a bunch of Virginians to act like morons.

  • @zicoEightyTwo can't you make a point without the vulgarity? Do you use words like this around your mommy? You are a low class simpleton.

  • @logibear64 Low class? You couldn't be more mistaken motherfucker.

  • You got to protect yourself. Burke is scary, so many zombies around....

  • how bout you just dont carry a handgun on you at a picnic. like really, is that necessary. i understand carrying out rights, but thats just kind of common courtesy...

  • @choichoisoy I guess you missed the point that this was a picnic for OPENCARRY, a nationwide group that OPEN CARRIES. But thank you Chairman Mao for attempting to tell us how to go about our business.

  • @nakedshoplifter so damn argumentative. im just saying that all could have been avoided if you just didnt have a gun on you FOR NO REASON

  • @choichoisoy So we Americans NEEED a reason to exercise our constitutional rights? Obviously you have reading comprehension issues. I previously stated this was an OPEN CARRY picnic, so to break it down for you EVERYONE was carrying a gun, OPENLY. That was the POINT. By your reasoning, Corvettes should be left at home b/c there's NO REASON to drive a car capable of breaking the speed limit.

  • @N0IMB yes you should have a NEED for a fucking weapon that can kill someone. looks like your in some serious danger there at burke, definitely a need for a gun. theres is no point in an open carry picnic, you stand around just like a regular picnic, but with guns. sounds like a wild time

  • @choichoisoy I don't have to show a NEED to use a constitutional right. It's not really a RIGHT if I have to get permission from dolts like yourself to enjoy it. Do you really NEED to have free speech? I mean you could probably live w/o it, right? Voting? You don't NEED to do that either. It's too bad you weren't taught civics in school my friend, otherwise you'd know your rights and obligations as an American citizen.

  • @choichoisoy BTW I have EARNED the right to my freedoms by serving my country in a time of war. What have YOU done for your country besides attempt to tell other free men how they should conduct their affairs? Typical anti-gun liberal, you think you have power to tell other people what to do.

  • @N0IMB oooh damn congratulations you are just far superior than i. i really never told you to do anything, just puting my opinion out there. someone as defensive you shouldnt even be carrying a gun

  • @choichoisoy what kind of an Idot are you? You dont have time to drive home and get your gun when you need it right now.And you never know where you are going to be when you need one.Other wise the cops would leave them at the cop house and when thay needed one they could drive back to hq,and get it.

  • @gilliganwilliam cops have them because they are the ones who need them. theyre the ones getting in harms way. fuckin middle aged men carry them around because they think it makes them think theyre more bad ass or have a bigger dick. let me know the next time you need a gun driving around fairfax county, fucking one of the richest counties in the country and the average crime is possession or drunk driving, COOL SICK GUN DOOD

  • @choichoisoy totally agree...

  • Fairfax county cops are pigheads

  • @GoneAbstract all cops are

  • What do you expect from these morons? I mean after all, they still think they are in high school playing football.....Fairfax County Department of thugs are known for their abuse........and it is getting worse.

  • dude we live in fairfax county theres 0% crime here what did u expect theyre bored lol

  • Dude, it seems disingenuous to be so peeved about a "riot shield!" when you all have guns! "THIS GUY HAS A RIOT SHIELD! :piss pants" is even stupider that people who react the same way about guns.

  • For those who feel scared, uneasy, or even terrified at a person lawfully carrying a sidearm, I have to tell you I am equally uneasy around people when I cannot see a sidearm. This means they might be concealing one, or multiple weapons. Criminals conceal their guns. No criminal open carries. Open carry = not a criminal.

  • @commonhighrise exactly I love it when someone has common sense. Grats to you my friend. in fact the two people I consider dangerous in our country are police officers because they are simply state sanctioned violent criminals and people who are aggressive and don't open carry. ~90% of police arrests are for non violent "crimes" and ~90% of violent crimes never get stopped. ~ = approx. Thanks again for your common sense

  • Why didn't one of you guys just call out to the officers and tell them not to be afraid of you and quit acting like you all are some kind of dangerous animals and a threat to them? Just tell them you are peacefully open carrying and please come talk to you like human beings if they want to know what is going on. They have no reason to fear you guys.

  • um shouldnt they already know that? Thats common sence.

  • They shouldnt have to, they are within their legal limit and rights to carry. the police are investigating a no crime.

  • I would prefer to have my kids around people like this. Who would mess with them? You think someone is going to try to snatch a kid from a well armed group of citizens? Or what if a bear came through the camp .... or a mountain lion ... or a politician? lol just kidding about the mountain lion.

  • You deserve to be persecuted if you believe you have the right to go in public without arbitrary persecution. In America we have the right to defend ourselves. If you think that should be changed then call your senators and tell them all that we need to make crime illegal so that people won't have to defend themselves. It's somewhat "forbidden" to go out in my neighborhood at night, know why? Because the local criminals enforce their ghetto anarchy at night. Why not make that illegal huh?

  • You volunteering yourself to go do the "persecuting?" Didn't think so.

  • What was done is completely legal and completely safe. Guns have multiple safety mechanisms (yes, even Glocks, with no external manual safety lever) that prevent them from firing unless the trigger is pulled. Dropping, bumping, etc. a loaded gun will not cause it to fire.

Your fear of firearms is misplaced and irrational, and I highly suggest that you attend a firearms safety class so you can see for yourself why carrying a gun in public is perfectly OK and safe.

  • you forgot pedifiles, rapists, drug dealers, armed robbers that conceal carry without a permit, murderers who obviously dont care about the most basic of human rights...need I go on, please try to pay attention!

  • damn nation is going communist

  • keep it up brothers and sisters!!! one day the nation will be a truly FREE Republic, & these moron cops may actually read the Constitution & local ordinance,& actually FOLLOW them, instead of wasting tax payer money on law-abiding citizens. considering the trigger-happy nature of cops these days (murder of Sean Bell of NYC,& Oscar Grant of BART) better 2B open carrying in groups. god knows what BS excuse they'll pull. how moronic they gotta hold a frakking conference to come up with a BS charge?

  • More likely than not what happened is they received a call about something happening at that location that warranted the reaction.

It looks like once they got there they realized "Well this isn't what we were told."

  • redneck.

  • Riot shields? What cowardly balls of lard.

  • Huh? There is no video. We turned the camera on when the PD arrived. We were simply having a bbq while openly carrying handguns, which is not against the law... LAWman.

  • Do you see anyone drinking alcohol? Nope. By the way, before you make comments, be sure your research is sound. Carrying a firearm and drinking a beer is NOT illegal in Virginia.

  • @nakedshoplifter Hey im all for CCW and couldn't care less if you open carry as well, but I have a feeling that open carry while drunk (under disability) is probably illegal if the person is an alcoholic. Watch yourselves out there.

  • @MorteWulfe Do you see any beers in the video? We don't drink and carry. Never, not once. How many times do I have to repeat this fact? Geez!

  • @MorteWulfe My comment is to your comment stating that it is alright to drink a beer and carry a firearm in Virginia. Wasn't saying anything about you drinking at this. I'm trying to help you but if you want to get weird about it, have at it.

  • "show the whole video what caused the police to show up in the first place. "

If they had a real reason for being there they would have done something. I suspect they may have been there because of complaints from other campers about the group carrying. Most people would be surprised to know open carry is legal in many states. Maybe they were there just to appease other campers.

  • Good for you guys, if the police do not like the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights they can move to China, Cuba or NY/NJ/CA!

  • lolololololololololololololol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what? no they aren't

  • There is only concealed carry in my state, but I wouldn't OC if I could just because of hassles like this. It must suck to have to explain the law to cops all the time. You should invite a lawyer to every picnic.

  • Dr Ron Paul 2008

we have an open carry law in NH as well

    Live Free or Die

Check Dr Ron Paul's record in Congress

Know the truth and defend freedom

Seems like they were being harassed at the park imho More and more cops seem to be aggressively provocative and many lawsuits have been filed with all the violations. Many are too young to know how illegal what they are doing is. Many more elderly Veterans know the truth and are speaking out against tyranny and fascism before it is too late RP

  • AHAHAHAHA a riot sheild? A chopper? Wow, that is the funiest thing ever! I mean (with great sarcasm) you guys do look like gangesters. I mean, the kids are the most evil looking ones.

More power to you for OCing!

  • Was anyone drinking alcohol? because there is a law prohibiting anyone carrying a weapon people with any substance in the system...

  • Nobody was drinking. But, I challenge you to cite the VA code which says someone cannot carry a weapon while enjoying a drink or two. The law says you cannot be "under the influence". The code reads: "under the influence" for purposes of this section: manslaughter in violation of § 18.2-36.1, maiming in violation of § 18.2-51.4, driving while intoxicated in violation of § 18.2-266, public intoxication in violation of § 18.2-388, or driving while intoxicated in violation of § 46.2-341.24."

  • in virginia, it is Illegal to openly carry a gun in a state park. i can understand your point of view on the 2nd ammendment. but also, openly carrying a gun in a state park; which is where lots of families go to enjoy a picnic, might make the families feel uneasy. why do you feel like you Have to show your gun? just conceal it.

  • Only the lake water itself is a state park. We were not on the lake, and therefore not in a state park.

  • ok, in a fairfax park

  • Some of us don't have concealed carry permits, most of us do. This is still a free country and we didn't do anything wrong. If someone feels "uneasy" they are welcome to relocate somewhere away from us. We pay taxes too and have just as much right to assemble and use the park as anyone else. For the record, not one family around us was "uneasy". They didn't even know we were armed until the police were called. The person who called the cops was a park employee with a grudge.

  • No, sorry, you're just flat-out wrong. There is no law against open-carry in a Virginia state park. Please take this opportunity to educate us and tell us what law prohibits the open-carry of a firearm by a law-abiding citizen in a State Park in VA. (P.S. There isn't one)

  • 4VAC5-30-200. Firearms. No person except employees, police officers, or officers of the department shall carry or possess firearms of any description, or airguns, within the park. This regulation shall not apply in areas designated for hunting by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. This regulation also shall not apply to the carrying of concealed handguns within state parks by holders of a valid concealed handgun permit issued pursuant to §18.2-308 of the Code of Virginia.

  • Hope this "educated" you. Open carry is not allowed in state parks, however concealed carry is.

  • Which is bs because your reaction is slower with CCW than it would be with OC, im glad some people still care about our rite's.

  • well one dude as a sidearm and they were talking about listening to their scanner. Its a cult meeting or KKK meeting. yup broke the case.

  • It is againt the law to have a gun in a Park in virginia.

  • Open carry is fine as long as its not a state park. Licensed concealed carry is fine even in state parks.

  • How to defuse a tense situation:

Go over and talk to the cops. State who you are, what you're doing, and why you want to defend your rights. It's great to be a patriot, but be a patriot boldly, not quietly while the tension builds.

  • The point is it's our right as Americans and the situation shouldn't be tense. These folks are minding their own business not causing a problem. America has fallen so far it's scary when people expect the goverment to be the only ones with the guns. =(

  • I know. WTF. Don't these assholes have anything better to do on the taxpayers dime?

  • Don't the cops know the laws?

That kind of scares me that they don't.

I'm glad there are people like yourselves that are prepared to deal with Smokey!

  • Q - "funny, but who the hell brings a gun to a picnic?"

    A - An American."

Booya! I'm in freaking Canada and I know that there's nothing wrong with good people carrying guns, openly or concealed.

If there was then we couldn't very well allow police to have them!

  • If you are in a dangerous area, then by all means bring a gun. Carry a concealed weapon if you want... I don't care. But don't spook other people by just letting it "hang around." Cops HAVE to investigate suspicious situations that other citizens have called in. If you don't like it, too bad.

  • "But don't spook other people by just letting it "hang around."" --

If other people are spooked by what they don't understand, that means they need to educate themselves. Period. As I posted earlier, "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity" -- Sigmund Freud

"Cops HAVE to investigate suspicious situations that other citizens have called in. If you don't like it, too bad" --

Absolutely. Obeying the the law is not suspicious. Cops are learning that; slowly.

  • If you guys posted this to make the cops look foolish...well...it back fired...you guys are a bunch of idiots for making people feel uncomfortable like that....This department just lost 2 coppers last year to a gun nut teenager with parents probably alot like you fools....Good job FCPD....keep up the good work..

  • You're making me uncomfortable by disagreeing -- so please don't do that anymore. What? Huh? That's against your 1st Amendment rights and you're simply exercising them? So were these people.

    Get over it.

  • "If you guys posted this to make the cops look foolish...well...it back fired...you guys are a bunch of idiots for making people feel uncomfortable like that...." --

I think the cops did look foolish. If people exercising their rights makes you nervous, move.

  • ONCE again,,, the virgina citizens defense leage proving an important point...WANTING ATTENTION....for a small time irrevalant group have fun guys wasting TAX PAYERS money!

  • Translation: leage=league, irrevalant=irrelevant

Hooked on phonics worked for you!

  • Who in this video wasted tax dollars? You might try directing your attention toward FC Parks Authority. They are the confused ones who called the PD. Can you articulate what crime was being committed by enjoying a BBQ?

  • funny, but who the hell brings a gun to a picnic?

  • "funny, but who the hell brings a gun to a picnic?" --

    An American.

  • "then why video tape it and ridicule the coppers?" --

Recording police encounters is a good rule of thumb. I suspect they had the camera already b/c of the picnic

"see if they are brave enough to go to a park on 103rd and Central.then you will impress me" --

I don't think "impressing" you is why Americans choose to exercise they're rights. No offense to your megalomania.

  • "I don't think our founding fathers intended you to strap up at a family park" --

Then you're obviously an ignoramus without a clue as to what you're talking about. Simple as that.

Here's what JEFFERSON said: "As to the species of exercise, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind....LET YOUR GUN THEREFORE BE THE CONSTANT COMPANION OF YOUR WALKS"

    Jefferson: 1

    You: 0

  • "a real man going to a family picnic doesnt need a gun.and if they do then they shouldn't bring little kids." --

As Sigmun Frued said, "A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity." Just because you have this problem doesn't mean other should push it onto their children.

  • All very weak excuses for a weak individual....My guess is that you were the kid who got beat up in school...all the time. Respect for weapons and the time to use and display them is a sign of maturity...Don't try to sound like your educated..it only makes you sound more weak.

  • "All very weak excuses for a weak individual....My guess is that you were the kid who got beat up in school...all the time" --

Unfounded psychological projection isn't a substitute for a fact-based, logical argument. But I guess in the absence of HAVING an argument, one might resort to that, as you did.

  • What did they do? Got a call came saw you and left?? Big deal.

  • Is it just me, but I don't see where the police did anything wrong.

  • Bah, too bad I felt like crap after work.... Looks like I missed all the excitement.

  • Too funny... Looks like they did not do anything. I see an armed guy in the video.. They want him?

  • ALL OF US were armed!! And no, they were not looking for anyone in particular, the PD was called by a park worker who saw one of us carrying a firearm openly, which is legal in Virginia.

  • I was there and spoke with the officers and no they couldn't "prone everyone out". That would be considered an unlawful detention and that is in itself illegal without a reasonable and articulable knowledge that a crime was being committed. They witnessed no crime, they witnessed responsible citizens exercising their rights. Open Carrying is legal in NOVA and in the county park. You don't have to like it, but you do have to get used to it.

  • Looks like an appropriate response to a man with a gun call. They want to be sure the people are not in any danger. They could have proned everyone out.

  • FYI, here's a link to the OCDO post about the event. opencarryDOTmywowbbDOTcom/forum54/3190DOThtml

  • An appropriate response would have been for the emergency operator to ask if the suspect was waving a gun, pointing it at anyone, etc. Barring that, it's pretty easy to see that nobody is in any danger. It's a bunch of people having a picnic!

If the police had "proned everyone out" they most certainly would have been violating these folks' civil rights.
