You make one good point although you probably do not realize it. There should not be open primaries. Both parties should be able to pick their own candidate just like virtually all of the third parties do.
Limbaugh's strategy probably "worked", but it may actually have helped Obama. Through the long primary process, he had the opportunity to get better known to people, register more voters in all states, and prove that he can wrestle down a tough opponent. A different candidate might have been taken down by "Operation Chaos" because he (or she) would have been lured into a mudslinging competition. Obama knew better than that.
You offer a very intelligent analysis. But don't think that there weren't just as many Democrats who voted for McCain on Super Tuesday just because they thought he'd be easier to beat.
I'll buy it if there's evidence, but the dems who I read, especially Jerome Armstrong, were much more concerned about the difficulty of beating McCain than any of the others.
Nobody was talking about faking a vote for McCain, but people were in some cases fake voting for Romney. That is, of course, just as unethical.
if you can't tell, i'm catching up on your videos cuz i just found you, lol. but i am wondering, what news outlet do you prefer? obviously not foxnews, everybody knows that..but if not cnn, then what? thanks :)
the rushie neocons are sooo much like killers charlie manson and jefferie dahmer that i confuse the three ... they scare the heck out of you ... they give you the orange alert, then the red alert ... nuclear bomb ... suitcase nuke ... dirty bomb ... and you know they would do it too ... just like in 911 ... they had people jumping from rooftops ... anything to win an election ... diabolical .. the neocons spend $400M+ for show biz talk shows to dupe the dopes .. but they had to knock off russert
Somehow McCain keeps rising in the polls despite the mainstream media's pro-Obama obsession, the crappy economy and the strong distaste conservatives have for McCain, who caved on immigration and many other key issues. Why is that?
The same anger and hatred that Bush experienced from the left during his 8 years is now going to be faced by Obama. Google "bush sucks" and you get 511,000 web pages. Google "Obama Sucks" and you get 4,000,000 web pages.
If that happens, it will mean that Republicans learned how to be better activists, which would be a good thing. Your party is corrupt because your base is lazy.
(You can throw that accusation back at my side if you want, but that doesn't make it less true.)
Now, let's look at what's happening on the reverse side. All you need to vote is a valid driver's license. How many of the MILLIONS of illegals in the 11 states that have issued driver's licenses to them have voted or will be voting? Is it any wonder that Obama wants to include them and all the other millions of illegals in his universal health care plan? Are you small-minded enough to think that playing dirty is exclusive of only certain political groups?! LOL
It's sad how many times I've had to come on here and explain to irate right wingers that I do want fair standards applied to people who agree with me.
I'm sorry if this upsets you even more, but you don't need any form of ID to vote in 26 states. You just need a name and a SSN that go together.
This could pose a security risk, but I also understand that attempts to show how much fraudulent voting is going on have failed to find people doing it at any statistically relevent amount.
I'm not a right winger so that's an incorrect assumption. Division came about when overkill emphasis was placed on political identities. If it is the case that you don't need an ID in 26 states, why even complain about the voting "unfairness" that the "other side" is committing? Corruption is universal when it involves power-hungry politicians and in this election, whoever has the most money will probably commit the ultimate payoff.
McCain takes New Hampshire. Turnabouts fair play. Oh yeah, the idea wasn't to get Hillary nominated either. The idea was to delay an early nomination for Obama. Mission accomplished I think. Obama is going to get creamed in the general by the way. Revelations about radical associates, lack of experience, flip-flops, his wife, high price of gasoline and refusal to open domestic energy, higher taxes, and on and on and on. The silent majority will just kill him in the election booth.
You may be right channa, but I do support Obama and I do have to thank Rush.Because of Rush the delegates didn't like the fact Republicans were going for Hilary and decided to go for Obama. If Rush didn't do his plan Hilary might have been nominated and the weaker canidate against McCain.Everything you mentioned about Obama is actually why people like him. The higher taxes are on the rich, high price of gas? What does he have to do with that. Lack of experience..I can agree but not a major issue.
Limbaugh is effecting the Democratic primary to throw the popular vote to HIllary ... BUt not for the reason you might think. HIllary is the choice of the shadow elite. McCain is the decoy. There propaganda machine can not come out pro Hillary without raising suspision ... so they construed this ruse for Limbaugh to put forth in order to throw her the popular vote in the primary. Limbaugh is actually working to get her elected. He hates McCain as do the elite.
I don't know if I agree with it, but, the concept of super delegates was designed to get an accurate representation of the general public. The thought was that only partisans vote in primaries and using the views of elected representatives more accurately represents their constituents. Like I said, I don't know if I agree with it, but...
lol... this guy must be a pissed off obama voter...haha Anyway, there is no perfect canindate, neither a perfect person. i favored fred thompson, but i can find some good ideology in mccains campaign. certainly mccain is better than any undemokkkratic_socialist commie canindates they put out there
JoeFelice, I thought Obama voters were young. Seriously dude, take off the tin foil hat. You made a huge x-files type leap to connect the dots only to have PA show you are an idiot.
I stare in silence thinking I could have been you if I never got laid. Do us all a favor and sign up for "Beauty and the Geek" in the hopes you can correct this painfully obvious shortcoming.
So many of you guys have said that on this thread, yet nobody has connected the dots for me. Is this just something that helps you sleep at night or can you give me a link to the information that convinced you?
Me, my republican friends, RUSH LIMBAUGH - we do not like McCain. He's the "Maverick", the one who "crosses the aisle and gets things done (does what democrats want him to do)". We hate him, we have for years. So called "independents" (aka democrats who voted in the Republican Primary) played HUGE role in why we're stuck with his ass.
What I've noticed above all is how UNdemocratic the Democratic party really is, with Super Deleguates, the Michigan and Florida case where the voters are simply ignored, the DNC making the ultimate choice on which rules to apply, even retroactively... yup, Democrats are big time elitists who think that the state, not the people, should be at the fore-front of society. Inventing always new taxes, new offices, new departments, new programs until the citizens, the producers, the innovators leave.
Michigan and Florida were presented choices with consequences. I mean, I could probably rape the shit out of your mother but laws in place apply a set of consequences to such actions. I could choose to rape the bitch, but then I must go to jail. Similar to the Michigan and Florida, they must face consequences. Those two states do have self image problems though. They are elitist. Better than the other 48 states? fuck off Michigan and Florida, fucking tools
the only speed of light associated with McHagee is the life alert around his ancient neck!
ring ring goes the phone at 3 am. McHagge fumbles for his teeth in a mason jar bedside, he swings his body a few times so his old ass decrepit legs fall to the fall, his trophy wife stumles around with her bad hips looking for his walker......then Kaboom!!! too late, we're all dead....
It weakened Republicans in Mississppi because they couldn't vote in their primaries. Rush is stupid and they are stupid for listening and couldn't vote for Huckabee or Romney. Think about that when you vote for that democrat John McCain. The Dems have already won dumbass! That goal is stupid and a democrat will win because there all dems. Rush is retarded!
Finally, Joe - what is your opinion on the USSC ruling about Indiana requiring photo IDs. Most Dems I've heard insist it's wrong, because voting must be anonymous. Do you support anonymous voting, or would you prefer to have the primary voters IDed and the GOP voters for Hillary prosecuted?
I think there are 2 issues in that. The photo ID's are to prove who you are, not record who you are. They always record who participates and make it public record. The anonymity applies only to who you vote for.
The reason Democrats don't like the ID requirement is that some people just haven't updated their ID's for whatever reason, and others have recently lost them. There will always be a segment of the population that won't have their ID on election day. Dems don't want to punish that.
Me: GOP all my life, but will NEVER vote McCain. (Keating 5, gang of 14, immigration, "TARBABY") I believe Hillary is more qualified than Obama to run the country... into the ground. I believe the next 4 will be a train wreck no matter what, and I want Hillary to be president during our second Great Depression. So, I voted Hillary, because I want her to win. I've also taken loads of debt, knowing the Dem led currency collapse will make it sooo easy to repay the loans. Ha!
PS. I did NOT vote for President of the AFL. Why? Because that IS a private election, restricted to dues paid members only. THAT is the answer, Dems - take your nomination private, mail proxies to dues paid Dems, count the ones that come back in... and report the count honestly if that suits the leadership.... Chaos! ha ha!
I just voted for Hillary Clinton. And I am a first time voter and plan to change to Republican when I get my over 18 license. And yes I am a Operation chaos operative.
Pennsylvania had a Closed Primary, and she still won in PA by ten points. LOL.... Obama is now melting down like Chernobyl, due to his associations with Rev. Wright (racist pastor) and other various terrorists.
The Clintons will steal the nomination via Super Delegates. Obamas core supporters are White Elitist Liberals and Poor Urban Blacks. Which of those two groups are prone to rioting? To complete Operation Chaos , I am suggesting bussing urbanites from all over the country to Denver. Think they'll behave after Hillary puts the bone to them?
I've got a better question. How did all those white elitist liberals and poor urban blacks get to be in such huge numbers that they were 60% of the voters in Wyoming and Utah, 67% of Nebraska, 75% of Alaska, and 80% of Idaho?
Those are all Conservative States. Therefore Hillary at the time was better known and mistrusted/hated by the percentages you listed. The same folks would have voted for a dead man or Mickey Mouse over Clinton. Lets get the good Rev. Sharpton to organize a mass of people traveling to Denver for the Convention. I'll donate some $ for that.
Between your malevolence toward blacks, and your delight in violence, you have a very sad worldview, Petey.
It's probably not worth showing you your error, but the turnouts in these primaries have been record-breaking in magnitude, in early and late states.
They've found someone who moves them. I'm sorry your lonely prejudices have left you needing to explain it away, and fantasizing about drawing black blood.
Okay, serious question to liberals regarding Obama:
Doesn't the Reverend Wright thing, or the crazy terrorist English teacher friend thing, or his "typical white person" comment bother you? I am not trying to start a fight here, I just need to understand how comments and associations like this can be done without consequence. Is it because he is the only one who you think can beat McCain? Or do you folks actually like Obama that much?
Sincerity understood, convoy. Different people feel different ways. I actually like him that much.
"Typical white person", while impolitic, falls completely within my use of casual English. I would say it too.
Reverend Wright is mischaracterized by a few inflammatory moments, and hated much more for his style than the substance of his many legitimate grievances. Black leaders agitate. MLK was more like this than you think.
Ayers is a strange conundrum, but I gather has made himself a strong enough member of the political class to have gained connections to the Clintons too. That doesn't excuse anyone, but I don't know this guy well enough.
There is a bottom line here.
Obama is receiving the hardest hits because his opponents, who are much more ethically compromised, are also more willing to do whatever it takes to undermine him. They don't attack his political values or life story because they can't touch him.
It's all the connections game. Don't forget Tony Rezco. Vague connections are like hearsay evidence. The may enforce a point of view, but they don't stand on their own.
I chose Obama last year after I looked at his policies, his education, his life choices, and yes, his oratory. These things make a president more than whose house he went to an event at. None of these points of substance have changed a hair, and neither has my support.
All that's changed is what the media wants you to focus on.
Although I disagree with you politically I do appreciate your response, it provided me with the understanding I was looking for. I also appreciate the professionalism that you exhibit in your videos and comments. For the record, I am a conservative, who totally supports 'operation chaos' However, I do support intelligent debate that your videos provide.
I have heard it put this way: Reverend Wright, being of his generation, has been focused on describing the problem. Barack Obama is focused on implementing solutions.
:-)
Also, MLK would not have been so effective at peaceful progress without Malcolm X's more incendiary style.
I do not agree with everything my Pastor says on Sunday. There are "sleeper cells" everywhere including Timothy McVeigh. A "typical white person" has never had a racially derogatory chant given against them. My question for Senator McCain deals with why did he, as a prisoner of war, GAIN weight at the "Hanoi Hilton"? That usually means you are getting more rations than others. I vote for Obama because gas is $4.00a gallon & no jobs for those in need of them.
So are you saying that if it was a White Minister and it involved a White Presidential Candidate that they would not have been run out of town? Really?? What exactly will the Obamessiah do about gas prices? What can ANY President do about gas prices? What JOBS do Presidents create? GAIN WEIGHT at the Hanoi Hilton? REALLY????? Are you actually drinking the Kool Aid or are you helping mix it?
I'd discourage you from swiftboating McCain's military service, man. The problem with McCain's image is that his heroism 40 years ago has given him a free ride to be a bad politician. We need to talk about the last 25 years.
Gas prices - A government determined to shift energy consumption toward renewable fuels and efficient technology can reduce the cost of fuel--more through how much we need than through the international market price. It's been done before...just not recently.
Rush Limbaugh is a loud mouth, but a pretty good puppet master for the tools that listen to him. I really don't think its that big of a deal. Consider the fact that publicity is great, everyone hears Obama and Clinton, but rarely ever McCain. People will know whatever democrat wins a lot better than McCain and name recognition is always huge. I still think Obama wins.
Voting feels more inherently Socialist... You mean like Russia, China, Cuba and former Eastern Block countries? The country is finding out that Obama has no substance!
I'm glad you pointed out the effective outcome of Rush Limbaugh's primary election tactics. It further shows that Republicans are excellent at planning strategies and acting on them to acquire an effective outcome. Cont...
...Democrats seem to have no tactical response to Rush, or retaliation other than the usual whining and complaining response they always do ( Some things never change). Furthermore, I'm sure we can all agree that Hillary no doubt knows that the "Limbaugh effect" is in full force and tilting the primary election in her favor in a way that will undoubtedly sabotage the presidential election for Democrats to a McCain victory.... cont...
If she truly cared about thwarting the "right wing conspiracy" I'm sure we can all agree that she would have conceded to Obama, a more viable candidate, long ago. .. cont...
- Instead, she just makes it more obvious that the Clinton's are not in "it" for their party , or what they say they feel is right for America, but for their own selfish greed for power, and narcissism. Hillary will undoubtedly go down in the history books as a byline next to Geraldine Ferraro. And as for Obama, can anyone say Dukakis?! Mega Dittos Rush!
I am more upset that my party disenfranchised me in this primary as well as the 4th and 8th most populated states, simply, because our state parties are idiots.
Why should I and millions of other people be punished for something out of our control? (besides the fact who cares if a state moves their primary up 2 weeks earlier than normal -- why must we stick to the 'conservative' mentality that Iowa and New Hampshire always get to go first since that is the ways its been?
Dude, you really don't have much hair anymore so what are you trying to prove with the Afro? Remember when the GOP won the Presidency in 2000 and 2004. WHICH THEY DID! It was the Super delegates dude! The best plan for the economy, don't fuck with free markets. That's a Socialist thing that never works! DUH!
My magic afro tells me you're thinking of the electoral college.
Aside from that I want to like your market analogy, because I like capitalism and competition, but I have to say that voting feels more inherently socialist because the government makes sure that everybody gets just one.
Thx for this and other posts, Joe. Welcome lucidity. Here's a question. How's it look to you from here on out. What can be done to counter this effect in the remaining primaries. How can people who care about the integrity of the process and/or the end result, make a difference?
I don't think there was a similar impact on Pennsylvania. It may sway Indiana, but I wouldn't worry about North Carolina. I'll keep an eye out. If it does, all that matters is that Democrats and especially superdelegates know about it.
Don't forget the democratic plan in 2000 to vote for McCain to prevent Bush as the nominee in Michigan. If we do it to them, why can't they do it back? I think its a bit hypocritical to ignore all of the other times it went the other way and suddenly act like its a huge injustice.
Muskegon Union workers in 2000 physically wouldn't let newspaper photographers take pictures of Bush at a rally, but they would permit pictures of McCain or Gore. Sure, Bush is horrible, but its still censorship.
Magnetic personalities create cult followings. Taking the right decisions creates character. I would rather have a president with character than a president with a cult following.
This strategy was used purposely against the Republicans first, that is why McCain won the primaries. No Seriously, there just was no media coverage, strangely enough most media outlets REPORTED several times how to "hurt the republicans" by registering as them and voting for MITT FUCKING ROMMEY! I think the Democrats should sue, Rush, then All the MSN can be sued for the same reason.
That's right, and it was wrong. I don't know how many people actually did it, but I know it was talked about. Help me make the leap into why that helps John McCain?
That's right, and it was wrong. I don't know how many people actually did it, but I know it was talked about. Help me make the leap into why that helps John McCain?
By JoeFelice
Ok, so you admit foul play by the Democrats, then shut up about Rush and his idiotic idea
WOW, where I come from thats called " the pot calling the kettle black" or Hypocrite.
Freakin Politics disgust me. Like to get rid of them all, clean house all 545 people who control the country.
Wow. John Fu*king McCain? Really? I didn't know he had a muslim middle name just like Barack Hussein Obama. Pretty cool. I wonder if John Fu*king McCain had a muslim father like Barack Hussein Obama does. I wonder if he went to a muslim school, too just like Barack Hussein Obama did.
Prejudice? Wait a sec. You're the one making disrespectful remarks. But apparently, that's okay. I have done nothing but state facts about BHO, and somehow, that's prejudice? I happen to choose not to support someone to lead our country that we really know nothing about, but what little has been recently revealed seems to belie his weak assertions of patriotism. This guy is steeped in Marxism. From the empty suit that was once BHO is now emerging a clearly defined socialist. Be forwarned.
Another thing here Joe, quit trying to use big words, its not impressive as your not using them correctly. so stop , please
I am not beating around the bush, or equivocating as you put it (chuckle). I tell the truth, both sides lie, both sides are not looking out for our best interest.
I do not support someone like Rush, he's a nut, but so are other left nuts. I do not use emotion to base my opinions, like many today.
You must be either a Obama or Hillary supporter, correct?
No when you add ting on to that you change the meaning, thus the beating around the bush, or not wanting to know the truth.
I dont' support Obama for a few reasons, one being his idea of a windfall tax on oil and drug companies. Are you a self employed person? Well I am and when my expenses go up, so does the price I charge. His idea will only raise gas and drug prices.
You are going on pure emotion, that is what he is inciting, nothing more.
Another thing, I love how Obama brags about not taking money from Oil and drug companies for his campaign. Let me ask you something that no one has the balls to ask Obama in person. Can you take/accept something that is not offered to you?? ( sound of light bulb going off)
you are being snowed over by a smooth talker.
I am probably going to vote for McCain. I do not favor raising taxes, aka Obama and Hillary as they both purpose to drop the 5 % tax cut that all tax payers got thru Bush
I also do not support increasing spending. Both Obama and Hillary are doing just that.
I do not like hearing from someone they are for affordable health care when their spouse is making money from a Non for profit hospital that over charges non insured.
I like McCains idea of no earmark/pork on bills and laws. Last year alone they accounted for 47 billion of our tax dollars.
Obama is proving he cannot handle pressure, something needed by the president.
You're really going nuts with the assumptions about me, man. My reasons to support Barack are rooted in the real world. They start with Iraq, healthcare, and constitutional law expertise. Somewhere behind those is his magnetic personality.
May I add that the world perspective of the US will change based upon the decision we make in November? Keep up the good work, Joe. I've been called an idiot and told that my thinking was messed up because I support Obama as a military mom, a veteran, a teacher, a mid-westerner, a woman, a woman over 40...too many assumptions are made about a lot of people. I'd vlog too if I though I could withstand the abuse. I'm proud of you, Joe!
Joe, sorry, but politics was never meant to be a competition, NEVER. It has been made that why by both parties.
Your the one deceived, because you have fallen for their bait. You have taken sides and now will make statements that have no common sense to back up your decision for siding with which ever side you've chosen.
I personally am skeptical of all politicians and with good reason.
None of them have "our" interest at heart, only their self and lob
Democracy is inherently competitive, friend. I'm sorry it bothers you, but it's a good thing, much like capitalism, with rational, actors voting their interests and trying to outnumber the others. Majority rule has, in fact, never been un-competitive.
You'd need an autocracy to get away from that.
Your skepticism, by the way, is great and totally healthy. But when skepticism turns to cynicism, which I feel like I detect in your comments, that's destructive.
Sorry to see you've fallen , but a lot of people have, their propaganda is the media and they are good at what they do.
I only could imagine what Hitler would have done with the media we have today. Scary to think, but thank God he did not and was stopped before he could complete his plan.
Joe, WHY, WHY do all you Democrats yell "Republican" when someone points out the truth ?
I am neither, I register an independent.
Just because I say the truth, something both sides do not like to hear.
Keep drinking the Kool-aid
Sorry to get so annoyed, but EVERYONE, quit following these people.
All we heard from the Democrats when they took control of the House and Senate was how they were going to change things. Well it changed for the worse
So you're less Republican and more equivocating. Grreat. Politics is a competition of support, man, and qualitative judgments between imperfect options. You don't have to love any of them, but if their shared faults lead you to think they have the same values about where to take this country, you're deceived.
Hey there Joe... the strategy IS WORKING! Dont count Hillary out yet, remember, she and her husband have 500 missing FBI files from the earlier administration. How many superdelegates can they blackmail? (bet you wish now that you had stopped them when you had the chance back then?) LOL! Look, Spitzer was leaning toward Obama and look what happened to him. The Clintons won't stop. They will destroy the party and the convention to get power back! I think you secretly know it...
The 'dirty tricks' maneuver by the unAmerican Rush Limbaugh is an attempt to destroy one of the most important aspects of our democracy, the vote...the meaningful vote...the vote that represents what those voting intend for it to represent. Shame on you, Rush, and shame on the 'echo heads' who have blindly followed you into Operation Chaos. Shame, shame, shame.
operation chaos is in full swing be a conservative republican myself, who would you libs like to have as your candidate? because we are picking-em for you.
this is a conspiracy theory and I'm not buying it. People like Hilary, but the media does not, so they tell you the people don't like her. Then you sit at home and wonder "if the people don't like her, how is she still doing good?". The answer forms some consiracy by you. The truth is people like Hilary (democrats acually like her) and so they are voting for her..
About 44% of Dem voters choose Clinton right now, prede89, and many more like her. The unusual phenomenon is the thousands of Mississipians who told exit polls how much they dislike her, and like John McCain, right after voting for her.
sorry prede89, the phenom is not a conspiracy. It's an actual result of a Rush Limbaugh campaign. Just listen to Rush, you'd hear from 'covert operatives' who are doing this right now. Also, you'd have had this information WEEKS in advance of JoeFelice and the 'media' you're watching at home. This happens a lot. Rush's predictive editorials tend to be proven correct more often than with liberal predictive editorials, like Franken. It wins me a LOT more bets against left-wing buddies than not.
JoeFelice had to look at voting internals. He had to analyse the CNN exit polls. He had to "tell" Democrats to do their own research. All that effort just to conclude that Rush's "strategy is working".
Most unbiased research ends-up supporting Rush's conclusions.
OK,
#1 don't start with a bias either way about Rush(for or against); and,
No McCain's middle name is "Songbird". Or at least that's what the Viet Cong called him after he gave them every military secret he knew and made 32 anti-American videos. In a 1973 interview with US News and World Report McCain admits to it. Google "M<cCain US News 1973 first hand" and read the second page of the article.
MasterOfBS is a better name for you. NOWHERE in that article does it or McCain say he gave ANY information to the enemy. And the extent of "military secrets" McCain knew at that time was limited to his role as wing commander. If he blabbed EVERYTHING he knew that was secret, which probably wasn't much, it would have little or NO effect on the war effort or anyone involved. You Libs just don't give up do you? be careful....there's probably a right wing neo-con lurking under your bed!!!! :-D
I can't help but laugh at you right wing freaks who think its not enough that JM admits to offering to tell the Viet Cong every military secret that he knew. No, you actually think he should have spelled out every detail of what he told them and if he didn't give the US News complete details of his treason then admitting treason isn't enough. Seriously, how do you people remember to breath? And yes a pilot who knew the bombing runs would have PLENTY to share. He got many other pilots shot down.
McCain didn't get hospital treatment. So he didn't give up any "secrets". Besides, he could have EASILY told them misinformation or information that was already known. Bombing runs are changed every time they make them.
Plus the longer he was kept prisoner the LESS value the information would be.
Better do some research before spouting off about stuff that you know nothing about. Heck, Jane Fonda did more for the North Vietnamese than McCain could EVER do. :-)
you said that McCain is a songbird for telling the VietCong "every military secret he knew". OK. So, you agree: TORTURE DOES WORK at getting valuable "military secrets" from military prisoners. I dare you to tell your friends about your secret conclusions.
McCain wasn't tortured so that blows your theory all to Hell doesn't it. Fact is when the man McCain claims tortured him came to testify before Congress McCain threw his arms around him and treated him like a long lost friend. Also the top 2 ranking US POWs said there was not torture where McCain was kept.
I'd also like to point out that McCain was ready to spill his guts even BEFORE he thought to tell his captors that he was a VIP. McCain is a coward and a moron. Now YOU can tell YOUR friends.
MasterofSparks, do you agree or not that proper, intellectual debate refrains from using insults like "moron" or arguments like "coward" when trying to conclude cowardice. Anyway, McCain's own autobiography "Faith of My Fathers" describes 5 years of torture/suffering. Giving absolution in 2006 and hugging/throwing arms around doesn't disprove torture in 1968. And he NEVER said he was going to "spill his guts" before they used his Hanoi flight injuries against him. Torture worked on him.
In a 1973 interview with US News and World Report John McCain said "O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital." "The Bug" replied, "It's too late." I said, "If you take me to the hospital, I'll get well." "Zorba" took my pulse again, and repeated, "It's too late."
Sometime later, "The Bug" came rushing into the room, shouting, "Your father is a big admiral; now we take you to the hospital."
This tells us that McCain was cowardly enough to offer military secrets in exchange for medical care and so amazingly stupid it didn't even occur to him to tell them he was a VIP BEFORE offering to give information that would later result in more US planes being shot down. Now quit making excuses for this idiotic traitor.
MasterOfSparks, every capture training course tells you how to use stale/mis-information. Fact: he DIDN'T give information during the Bug talk. Fact: he only offered a promise. What does "This tell us"? He would have given a) mis-information b) stale information c) and LIES to his captors at THAT time. Don't you know this? Wait for debate retorts before resorting to elementary-school terms like "stupid" & "idiot". I gave you 3 chances to use academic-level discourse... you'll be ignored now.
On a happier note recent data indicates that Hillary's scorched earth tactics are pissing off the superdelegates and they will be voting against her in droves. That little letter to Pelosi had the same result. When all is said and done we need to tell some people their support is no longer necessary or helpful, raise their damned taxes, and make some serious changes to the laws governing the media. Meanwhile google mccaine us news first hand and read about john "traitor" mccain on p. 2
Right now EITHER candidate attempting a "coup" will mean chaos at the convention (yay!!). Right now both candidates are in a virtual deadlock. If either candidate attempts a "coup", the whole party will be in an uproar.
Democracy is "majority rule". Al Bore found out real quick that the USA is NOT a Democracy when he got the MAJORITY of popular votes but STILL didn't get elected...thank goodness.
Contrary to the propaganda being spouted by politicians and the media...the United States is NOT a Democracy. It is a Constitutional Republic. Now if someone wants to attack Bush and the Congress for the way we went to war in Iraq, I will back them 100%. We went to war under an "okey doke" from Congress, not a DECLARATION of WAR. That's one of the reasons we are in the mess we are in.
Don't be bullied into giving up Democracy, JamaicanMan18! Deputy276 may be passionate, but he/she is mistaken, as any civics class should affirm.
We are a republic, and a democracy, and a constitutional society, and though each one infringes slightly on the others, there's plenty of room in a modern government for all three.
PLUS capitalism AND socialism at the same time. Not a paradox! Now there's a video I've been meaning to make for a while.
While the scheme is shitty, and Limbaugh is a big, fat liar, I'm pretty confident that no criminal convictions will result. The law requiring voters to swear allegiance to a party in order to participate in their primary is contrary to the principle of equal protection as voting has been recognized as a fundamental right. I don't think it's wise to persue this argument against these dopes. They're clearly desperate. The onus here is on Clinton to drop out.
I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think your right-to-vote argument applies because primaries are private events that don't grant office, and in which most states do exclude people who vote in the general election.
Ohio primaries are almost wide open, but the 99-year-old law requires the crossover voter to pledge that he/she "desires to be affiliated with and supports the principles of the political party whose ballot the person desires to vote."[sic]
Is Google in the Tank for Obama 193,000 bucks donated & CNN-Time Warner BARACK OBAMA (D) Top Contributors Goldman Sachs $474,428 JP Morgan Chase & Co $282,387 Lehman Brothers $274,147 National Amusements Inc $265,750 Sidley Austin LLP $251,657 Citigroup Inc $247,436 University of California $239,944 Skadden, Arps et al $228,520 Exelon Corp $226,661 Harvard University $225,891 Google Inc $192,808 Time Warner $190,091
To those dismissing my suggestion that this behavior is illegal:
In Ohio it definitely is illegal, and it's under investigation. You'll find several articles confirming this if you search Google News for Limbaugh Ohio Fraud.
The only question they're asking is whether there's enough evidence to prosecute anyone.
Nice number crunching! There's nothing illegal going on, but I suppose it could be a bit immoral. Just think, you and your 300 subscribers will be able to vote for hope and change and the future! If you believe in the future, then vote for Barack! If you hope for change, Obama's your man! I want change and hope in the future, so I'm voting for Barack Obama!
Great analysis my a**. What do you idiots think the Dems did in the early primaries in New England? They didn't vote for Democratic candidates. They voted for McCain because they figured he was the weakest of any of the Republican candidates. Unfortuantely, they were probably right.
What argument? Every news channel reported in their exit polls that Dems and Independants were voting for McCain in every state where they could crossover. Now, when the tabels are turned, the Dems are crying like babies.
You'll need some comparative numbers, and some opinion questions that suggest voting in bad faith for the purpose of sabotage. The data's out there. I used CNN.
The media has been fawning all over Obama since he announced his candidacy. All you see are fluff interviews with Obama. They are downplaying or just plain not covering his relationship with Reverend Wrong. Both the press and TV media have a long history of Liberal slant.
Lush Scumball Huh!!!...Lush is a MORON...he could not think this up...BUT...Someone did tell him to do it!!!....jumping party lines to win main elections has been a Southern thing since slavery...oh..I forgot....they still endorse slavery...
Keep up the excellent work...but watch the "F" word...even though it is a correct term for him, you might turn some people off to your comments and not mean to....
You make one good point although you probably do not realize it. There should not be open primaries. Both parties should be able to pick their own candidate just like virtually all of the third parties do.

Operation Chaos
Limbaugh is a hypocrite in criticizing ACORN for undermining the democratic process.
ownage1810 2 years ago
Limbaugh's strategy probably "worked", but it may actually have helped Obama. Through the long primary process, he had the opportunity to get better known to people, register more voters in all states, and prove that he can wrestle down a tough opponent. A different candidate might have been taken down by "Operation Chaos" because he (or she) would have been lured into a mudslinging competition. Obama knew better than that.
KlPi79 3 years ago
You offer a very intelligent analysis. But don't think that there weren't just as many Democrats who voted for McCain on Super Tuesday just because they thought he'd be easier to beat.
EnemyAce88 3 years ago
I'll buy it if there's evidence, but the dems who I read, especially Jerome Armstrong, were much more concerned about the difficulty of beating McCain than any of the others.
Nobody was talking about faking a vote for McCain, but people were in some cases fake voting for Romney. That is, of course, just as unethical.

JoeFelice 3 years ago

JoeFelice 3 years ago
I'm not a right winger so that's an incorrect assumption. Division came about when overkill emphasis was placed on political identities. If it is the case that you don't need an ID in 26 states, why even complain about the voting "unfairness" that the "other side" is committing? Corruption is universal when it involves power-hungry politicians and in this election, whoever has the most money will probably commit the ultimate payoff.
benzride 3 years ago

He hates McCain as do the elite.

tkpadilla 3 years ago
I don't know if I agree with it, but, the concept of super delegates was designed to get an accurate representation of the general public. The thought was that only partisans vote in primaries and using the views of elected representatives more accurately represents their constituents.
USA04July1776 3 years ago
I think you're reaching there.
Better than the other 48 states? fuck off Michigan and Florida, fucking tools

zjohnso123456789 3 years ago
Finally, Joe - what is your opinion on the USSC ruling about Indiana requiring photo IDs. Most Dems I've heard insist it's wrong, because voting must be anonymous. Do you support anonymous voting, or would you prefer to have the primary voters IDed and the GOP voters for Hillary prosecuted?
steve66oh 3 years ago
I think there are 2 issues in that. The photo ID's are to prove who you are, not record who you are. They always record who participates and make it public record. The anonymity applies only to who you vote for.
The reason Democrats don't like the ID requirement is that some people just haven't updated their ID's for whatever reason, and others have recently lost them. There will always be a segment of the population that won't have their ID on election day. Dems don't want to punish that.
JoeFelice 3 years ago

PeteyWheatsraw 3 years ago
I've got a better question. How did all those white elitist liberals and poor urban blacks get to be in such huge numbers that they were 60% of the voters in Wyoming and Utah, 67% of Nebraska, 75% of Alaska, and 80% of Idaho?
Damn those Idaho elitists...
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Those are all Conservative States. Therefore Hillary at the time was better known and mistrusted/hated by the percentages you listed.
Or do you folks actually like Obama that much?
convoy1911 3 years ago
Sincerity understood, convoy. Different people feel different ways. I actually like him that much.
"Typical white person", while impolitic, falls completely within my use of casual English. I would say it too.
Reverend Wright is mischaracterized by a few inflammatory moments, and hated much more for his style than the substance of his many legitimate grievances. Black leaders agitate. MLK was more like this than you think.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Ayers is a strange conundrum, but I gather has made himself a strong enough member of the political class to have gained connections to the Clintons too. That doesn't excuse anyone, but I don't know this guy well enough.
There is a bottom line here.
Obama is receiving the hardest hits because his opponents, who are much more ethically compromised, are also more willing to do whatever it takes to undermine him. They don't attack his political values or life story because they can't touch him.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
It's all the connections game. Don't forget Tony Rezco. Vague connections are like hearsay evidence. The may enforce a point of view, but they don't stand on their own.
I chose Obama last year after I looked at his policies, his education, his life choices, and yes, his oratory. These things make a president more than whose house he went to an event at. None of these points of substance have changed a hair, and neither has my support.
All that's changed is what the media wants you to focus on.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Although I disagree with you politically I do appreciate your response, it provided me with the understanding I was looking for. convoy1911 3 years ago
Thanks convoy! Stay tuned and keep me honest :)
JoeFelice 3 years ago

I vote for Obama because gas is $4.00a gallon & no jobs for those in need of them.
tcco007 3 years ago
So are you saying that if it was a White Minister and it involved a White Presidential Candidate that they would not have been run out of town? Really?? What exactly will the Obamessiah do about gas prices? What can ANY President do about gas prices? What JOBS do Presidents create? GAIN WEIGHT at the Hanoi Hilton? REALLY????? Are you actually drinking the Kool Aid or are you helping mix it?
TheRentschmeister 3 years ago
I'd discourage you from swiftboating McCain's military service, man. The problem with McCain's image is that his heroism 40 years ago has given him a free ride to be a bad politician. We need to talk about the last 25 years.
Gas prices - A government determined to shift energy consumption toward renewable fuels and efficient technology can reduce the cost of fuel--more through how much we need than through the international market price. It's been done before...just not recently.

Muskegon Union workers in 2000 physically wouldn't let newspaper photographers take pictures of Bush at a rally, but they would permit pictures of McCain or Gore. Sure, Bush is horrible, but its still censorship.

you are being snowed over by a smooth talker.
I am probably going to vote for McCain. I do not favor raising taxes, aka Obama and Hillary as they both purpose to drop the 5 % tax cut that all tax payers got thru Bush
bowhunterjohn63 3 years ago
I also do not support increasing spending. Both Obama and Hillary are doing just that.
I do not like hearing from someone they are for affordable health care when their spouse is making money from a Non for profit hospital that over charges non insured.
I like McCains idea of no earmark/pork on bills and laws. Last year alone they accounted for 47 billion of our tax dollars.
Obama is proving he cannot handle pressure, something needed by the president.
bowhunterjohn63 3 years ago
You're really going nuts with the assumptions about me, man. My reasons to support Barack are rooted in the real world. They start with Iraq, healthcare, and constitutional law expertise. Somewhere behind those is his magnetic personality.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
May I add that the world perspective of the US will change based upon the decision we make in November? Keep up the good work, Joe. I've been called an idiot and told that my thinking was messed up because I support Obama as a military mom, a veteran, a teacher, a mid-westerner, a woman, a woman over 40...too many assumptions are made about a lot of people. I'd vlog too if I though I could withstand the abuse. I'm proud of you, Joe!
BlueStarMom43 3 years ago
Joe, sorry, but politics was never meant to be a competition, NEVER. It has been made that why by both parties.
Your the one deceived, because you have fallen for their bait. You have taken sides and now will make statements that have no common sense to back up your decision for siding with which ever side you've chosen.
I personally am skeptical of all politicians and with good reason.
None of them have "our" interest at heart, only their self and lob
bowhunterjohn63 3 years ago
Democracy is inherently competitive, friend. I'm sorry it bothers you, but it's a good thing, much like capitalism, with rational, actors voting their interests and trying to outnumber the others. Majority rule has, in fact, never been un-competitive.
You'd need an autocracy to get away from that.
Your skepticism, by the way, is great and totally healthy. But when skepticism turns to cynicism, which I feel like I detect in your comments, that's destructive.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Sorry to see you've fallen , but a lot of people have, their propaganda is the media and they are good at what they do.
I only could imagine what Hitler would have done with the media we have today. Scary to think, but thank God he did not and was stopped before he could complete his plan.
bowhunterjohn63 3 years ago
Joe, WHY, WHY do all you Democrats yell "Republican" when someone points out the truth ?
I am neither, I register an independent.
Just because I say the truth, something both sides do not like to hear.
Keep drinking the Kool-aid
Sorry to get so annoyed, but EVERYONE, quit following these people.
All we heard from the Democrats when they took control of the House and Senate was how they were going to change things. Well it changed for the worse
They are all liars
bowhunterjohn63 3 years ago
So you're less Republican and more equivocating. Grreat. Politics is a competition of support, man, and qualitative judgments between imperfect options. You don't have to love any of them, but if their shared faults lead you to think they have the same values about where to take this country, you're deceived.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Hey goof ball, even if that could have happened, it isnt' anything different the the Dem's did with Bob Dole's nomination.
PAY BACKS ARE A BITCH
Just because you liberals would do something, dont' believe everyone else would.
Kind of like all my Democrat friends that can't believe a man would stay faithful to his wife and supported Slick Willy.
WOW, get real, Obama isn't trust worthy either, so are you making a point for McCain?
bowhunterjohn63 3 years ago
There's so much Republican moral equivocation on this thread it isn't even funny.

John "fucking" McCain...gatta admit that was funny!!
prede89 3 years ago 2
this is a conspiracy theory and I'm not buying it. People like Hilary, but the media does not, so they tell you the people don't like her. Then you sit at home and wonder "if the people don't like her, how is she still doing good?". The answer forms some consiracy by you. The truth is people like Hilary (democrats acually like her) and so they are voting for her..
prede89 3 years ago
About 44% of Dem voters choose Clinton right now, prede89, and many more like her. The unusual phenomenon is the thousands of Mississipians who told exit polls how much they dislike her, and like John McCain, right after voting for her.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
sorry prede89, the phenom is not a conspiracy. It wins me a LOT more bets against left-wing buddies than not.
nynewyorktimes 3 years ago
Rush said his "strategy is working".
JoeFelice had to look at voting internals. He had to analyse the CNN exit polls. He had to "tell" Democrats to do their own research. All that effort just to conclude that Rush's "strategy is working".
Most unbiased research ends-up supporting Rush's conclusions.
OK,
#1 don't start with a bias either way about Rush(for or against); and,
#2 do your own research; and,
#3 agree with Rush in the final analysis.
Just agree with Rush from the beginning.

McCain had nothing to do with it you boob
mikeybrd 3 years ago
McCain's middle name is not FUCKING, you douche bag. Of course Obama's middle name is Hussein. I probably spelled it wrong though.
mikeybrd 3 years ago
No McCain's middle name is "Songbird". Or at least that's what the Viet Cong called him after he gave them every military secret he knew and made 32 anti-American videos. In a 1973 interview with US News and World Report McCain admits to it. Google "M<cCain US News 1973 first hand" and read the second page of the article.
MasterOfSparks 3 years ago
MasterOfBS is a better name for you. NOWHERE in that article does it or McCain say he gave ANY information to the enemy. And the extent of "military secrets" McCain knew at that time was limited to his role as wing commander. If he blabbed EVERYTHING he knew that was secret, which probably wasn't much, it would have little or NO effect on the war effort or anyone involved. You Libs just don't give up do you? be careful....there's probably a right wing neo-con lurking under your bed!!!! :-D
Deputy276 3 years ago
I can't help but laugh at you right wing freaks who think its not enough that JM admits to offering to tell the Viet Cong every military secret that he knew. No, you actually think he should have spelled out every detail of what he told them and if he didn't give the US News complete details of his treason then admitting treason isn't enough. Seriously, how do you people remember to breath? And yes a pilot who knew the bombing runs would have PLENTY to share. He got many other pilots shot down.
MasterOfSparks 3 years ago
McCain didn't get hospital treatment. So he didn't give up any "secrets". Besides, he could have EASILY told them misinformation or information that was already known. Bombing runs are changed every time they make them.
Plus the longer he was kept prisoner the LESS value the information would be.
Better do some research before spouting off about stuff that you know nothing about. Heck, Jane Fonda did more for the North Vietnamese than McCain could EVER do. :-)
Deputy276 3 years ago
Hey MasterOfSparks,
you said that McCain is a songbird for telling the VietCong "every military secret he knew". OK. So, you agree: TORTURE DOES WORK at getting valuable "military secrets" from military prisoners. I dare you to tell your friends about your secret conclusions.
nynewyorktimes 3 years ago
McCain wasn't tortured so that blows your theory all to Hell doesn't it. Fact is when the man McCain claims tortured him came to testify before Congress McCain threw his arms around him and treated him like a long lost friend. Also the top 2 ranking US POWs said there was not torture where McCain was kept.
I'd also like to point out that McCain was ready to spill his guts even BEFORE he thought to tell his captors that he was a VIP. McCain is a coward and a moron. Now YOU can tell YOUR friends.
MasterOfSparks 3 years ago
MasterofSparks, do you agree or not that proper, intellectual debate refrains from using insults like "moron" or arguments like "coward" when trying to conclude cowardice. Anyway, McCain's own autobiography "Faith of My Fathers" describes 5 years of torture/suffering. Giving absolution in 2006 and hugging/throwing arms around doesn't disprove torture in 1968. And he NEVER said he was going to "spill his guts" before they used his Hanoi flight injuries against him. Torture worked on him.
nynewyorktimes 3 years ago
In a 1973 interview with US News and World Report John McCain said "O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital." "The Bug" replied, "It's too late." I said, "If you take me to the hospital, I'll get well." "Zorba" took my pulse again, and repeated, "It's too late."
Sometime later, "The Bug" came rushing into the room, shouting, "Your father is a big admiral; now we take you to the hospital."
MasterOfSparks 3 years ago
This tells us that McCain was cowardly enough to offer military secrets in exchange for medical care and so amazingly stupid it didn't even occur to him to tell them he was a VIP BEFORE offering to give information that would later result in more US planes being shot down. Now quit making excuses for this idiotic traitor.
MasterOfSparks 3 years ago
MasterOfSparks, every capture training course tells you how to use stale/mis-information. Fact: he DIDN'T give information during the Bug talk. Fact: he only offered a promise. What does "This tell us"? He would have given a) mis-information b) stale information c) and LIES to his captors at THAT time. Don't you know this? Wait for debate retorts before resorting to elementary-school terms like "stupid" & "idiot". I gave you 3 chances to use academic-level discourse... you'll be ignored now.
nynewyorktimes 3 years ago
Fact: you don't know what information he gave so you are a damned liar. Quit making mindless excuses for him.
MasterOfSparks 3 years ago
On a happier note recent data indicates that Hillary's scorched earth tactics are pissing off the superdelegates and they will be voting against her in droves. That little letter to Pelosi had the same result. When all is said and done we need to tell some people their support is no longer necessary or helpful, raise their damned taxes, and make some serious changes to the laws governing the media. Meanwhile google mccaine us news first hand and read about john "traitor" mccain on p. 2
MasterOfSparks 3 years ago
I sure hope they DO vote against her. I'm looking forward to a Democratic convention like the one in 1968. Should be quite entertaining :-)
Deputy276 3 years ago
Deputy, I don't think you understand what MasterOfSpark's comment implies. She can only cause a coup if she gets most of the supers.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Right now EITHER candidate attempting a "coup" will mean chaos at the convention (yay!!). Right now both candidates are in a virtual deadlock. If either candidate attempts a "coup", the whole party will be in an uproar.
Democracy is "majority rule". Al Bore found out real quick that the USA is NOT a Democracy when he got the MAJORITY of popular votes but STILL didn't get elected...thank goodness.

Wow Deputy. You must be a complete fucking idiot.

marmanukem 3 years ago
Better go back to school and take a civics class. The USA is NOT a "Democracy".
Deputy276 3 years ago
What did they tell you in civics class?
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Contrary to the propaganda being spouted by politicians and the media...the United States is NOT a Democracy. It is a Constitutional Republic. Now if someone wants to attack Bush and the Congress for the way we went to war in Iraq, I will back them 100%. We went to war under an "okey doke" from Congress, not a DECLARATION of WAR. That's one of the reasons we are in the mess we are in.
Deputy276 3 years ago
I realize it isnt a democracy... but...
LIBERAL-SLANTED MEDIA?!?!
thats horseshit.
JamaicanMan18 3 years ago
Don't be bullied into giving up Democracy, JamaicanMan18! Deputy276 may be passionate, but he/she is mistaken, as any civics class should affirm.
We are a republic, and a democracy, and a constitutional society, and though each one infringes slightly on the others, there's plenty of room in a modern government for all three.
PLUS capitalism AND socialism at the same time. Not a paradox! Now there's a video I've been meaning to make for a while.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
While the scheme is shitty, and Limbaugh is a big, fat liar, I'm pretty confident that no criminal convictions will result. The law requiring voters to swear allegiance to a party in order to participate in their primary is contrary to the principle of equal protection as voting has been recognized as a fundamental right. I don't think it's wise to persue this argument against these dopes. They're clearly desperate. The onus here is on Clinton to drop out.
keptyeti 3 years ago
Thanks for the thoughtful comment, keptyeti.

So? I can do whatever the hell I want with my vote.

It all adds up to just $3 million for a campaign that's raised over $200 million from over a million Americans. Not exactly a controlling stake.
Also I believe these are private donations from the people who work at each company, in which case, good for them.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
To those dismissing my suggestion that this behavior is illegal:
In Ohio it definitely is illegal, and it's under investigation. You'll find several articles confirming this if you search Google News for Limbaugh Ohio Fraud.
The only question they're asking is whether there's enough evidence to prosecute anyone.
Penalty=6-12 months in prison and $2500 fine.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
Nice number crunching! There's nothing illegal going on, but I suppose it could be a bit immoral. Just think, you and your 300 subscribers will be able to vote for hope and change and the future! If you believe in the future, then vote for Barack! If you hope for change, Obama's your man! I want change and hope in the future, so I'm voting for Barack Obama!
Gixxer335iCoupe 3 years ago
Great analysis my a**. What do you idiots think the Dems did in the early primaries in New England? They didn't vote for Democratic candidates. They voted for McCain because they figured he was the weakest of any of the Republican candidates. Unfortuantely, they were probably right.
Deputy276 3 years ago
Show evidence or lose the argument.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
What argument? Every news channel reported in their exit polls that Dems and Independants were voting for McCain in every state where they could crossover. Now, when the tabels are turned, the Dems are crying like babies.
Deputy276 3 years ago
You'll need some comparative numbers, and some opinion questions that suggest voting in bad faith for the purpose of sabotage. The data's out there. I used CNN.
JoeFelice 3 years ago
So you don't believe the Liberal-slanted media? That's odd. And it's not "sabotage" as long as it's legsl...which it is.
