I own several sites (not music buissnes tho) and i dont agree on the numbers your saying, did you say 40,000 visits a day? well i would shit my pants If i had that kind of traffic.
As long as the content is good you will make money, you just need to execute it rigth, see whats poular and make tuts on that.
I think ppl are willing to pay some money to learn good songs/technique
Build a community/forum around it, this will make ppl feel more home, and user generated content is always good
