I see you've jumped on McCain's negative campaign bandwagon with this "socialism" ploy. Obama is now a "socialist" b/c he dares to suggest that maybe we should look @ our tax structure. Taxes are always a redistribution of $, & most of it goes back to those who pay it. They are necessary for the common good. There's nothing wrong with examining the tax structure, or who should be paying more or less. To say that that makes you a socialist is an unfortunate characterization that isn't accurate.

Am I a socialist because I once paid more rent and utilities than my ex so that we could have a better home, be in a better school district for her child, etc.; would the wealthy (with their 20ish year old nonworking trophy wives) move into a home or living situation affordable by both to be fair? Or does it make sense to "spread the wealth" for a common good? Hell, in practice, the rich do this more than the poor, in their own lives, because THEY CAN. The rich are now SOCIALISTS!

Considering MOST of America resides near the poverty line and earn well below $200,000, the VAST MAJORITY of Americans will receive a tax break. And about his additional spending, those figures are for NEW spending, that doesn't count what will be axed. If I buy $200 woth of groceries a week, spend $50 on new items and then substitute it for an equal amount from my routine purchases, that's not $50 of additional spending.
