And just like that, I got it. I have been juggling all the basic patterns (underhand, overhand, reverse) for like a week now so once I understood the pattern it was pretty easy to become fluid.

Wow, I got it. I followed your instructions to the tee and it worked! Took me about 4 days of constant practise. What helped me with the Mills Mess was that when I threw the 3rd ball under the other arm, I hesitated just a millisecond before the underhand toss, and that enabled me to catch all three balls. Anyone can do it. I am 66 years old and now flawless with the Mills Mess.

difference between them.

Check out Reverse Mill's Mess by eiji916 The easiest way to understand the difference is first looking at Reverse Mill's Mess and knowing that the ball that hops in the center would be become and under throw(under the other arm for Flo's Mess, and for Mill's Mess instead of the ball hopping in the center it would instead be brought over the other arm and tossed back to the arm that tossed it and caught by the opposite hand over the arm that tossed it.

Seriously, check out the only Flo's Mess tutorial on youtube, then check out the Mill's Mess tutorial by the same author - I just can't figure out what the difference is, or even if there is one.

But if I'm doing it right, why don't any of these tutorials refer to the incredibly simple method of switching sides on side circles?

I still can't figure out if this is just alternating side circles. Someone else who does tutorials posted a flo's mess and a mills mess both, and the flo's mess looks like what I thought was mill's mess, which was the alternating side circles. This may be why I am having so much trouble with the Mill's Mess reference to Burke's Barrage. Any suggestions?
