why do people think they know what they are talking about these Fosgates are prob better then any MTX in the same price range yeah you can go buy some type R's that are 3x more expensive or some MTX that are 2x as expensive that are about the same quality never buy MTX its always a gamble if you want some sound try some w3's (you can get these subs in a slim sealed enclosure for 130$ from amazon if your going to run these use a GOOD amp subs suck with a shitty amp

Fosgate is way better than MTX. I was thinking on getting MTXs before I got these RFs as my 1st system and so glad I went with RF. I don't have them anymore, my friend dose but for them being about 3 years old they are still bangin and wont stop anytime soon, and when i had them I pushed the crap outta them and they held strong. If someone wanted a cheap but good system, I would recommend these in a heartbeat.
@zux9Alex depends MTX 9500 can blow away any RF products. Even though this guys setup is nice I would recommend MTX Audio Terminator TNP212D two 12inch Subs with a box and TNA251 Monoblock Amplifier 600 watts max 250 watts RMS. this come all together at around 250 dollars. RF is good though if you can get them at a good price. :)
A quite decent system you got there. Not too loud and not too expensive. I'm also a Rockford user myself. Well ignore those haters and don't listen to the people who compare your subs to the other subs cause what's good for you is good for you dude. Peace

Facing down is fine. It just sounds different depending how you have them. My buddy has a 95 z71 with these RF R1s in them (I upgraded and gave these to him) and there downfire and they sound great.

Yes, these subs are worth buying. While I had them they never messed up, I was putting 800 watt in them when they only need 300 max a per sub. (though I had the amp turned down a little) I just helped my friend put them in his '95 silverado with a 300 watt amp. and there still going strong. Even after over a year and a half of pushing them with 800 watt. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to buy them.

@DylanK811 ACTUALLY, it ABSOLUTELY changes the amount of wattage the sub sees. the correct way to set the gain knob on an amp is to put a DMM to the amps output, and put the HU around 3/4 volume, play a test tone and then adjust the gain to the desired AC voltage. you take the amount of power you want to give them, multiply it by the resistance of your sub/s and then take the square root of that, which would be the AC voltage you want... what the hell do YOU think the gain knob is for

@maddmatt02 Fair enough. I'm actually running 470w on my 600w Focal amp because not only do I not have enough voice coils to drop it to 1 ohm, I don't want to overpower my P1's. And my gain is set at half.
my cars empty right now, ran about 1100 to a trio of PCX102's rated for 900(all 3) not sure whats up next, probably something like a single 12 sealed in the spare tire well off the bridged rear channels on my small amp (~180 is all I will get out of it) so it stays light and I keep my trunk. that setup must have weighed almost 200 pounds between sub/box/amp/wire... and I had NO trunk. in the wifes car I got a REX12 rated at 175 and its been seeing right around 250 for a long time.

@DylanK811 once I tore the subs out, I only had about 60 watts to some audiobahn comps setup in my doors and of course the real real lows had no power, but it was the first time Ive had something in the doors other than coax's off of HU power, and it was actually pretty impressive. in the next car I still ended up giving about 100 watts to a 10 in a small sealed box just to make up for the missing lows the comp didnt have, but theres better set that handle more power as well
@maddmatt02 I got about 60 to 80 watts going to each speaker right now. I put in RF speakers. Idk exactly how much wattage they're getting though. It's an Xplod and you know how Sony is about their "power ratings".

If you mean the stock Infinity system, then no, I don't have it. Just the normal radio system. I do need to replace my rear speakers though, they are the only stock speakers I have in my Jeep.
Does it look like a care? No. And of yeah your 2 JL's will sound better, these RF R1's are just entry level sub's that are less than $100, but they still sound better than a lot of over $100 subs. but a JL is really expensive and I don't know why you are even comparing my subs against a JL. There not even comparable, there is too much difference.

@DarrMack I have 2 15" RF punch stage 1 subs in separate ported boxes in a '89 ford Taurus station wagon on a RF p400-2 and they're awesome. you can actually see the roof of the car move with the music. everything from the back doors to the rear bumper rattles like crazy. inside the bass is enough to make you feel like something's beating on your chest. for the price, you cant go wrong with RF. get 15" subs if u can afford it and have room....
sealed picks up lows way better and it gives a sub a longer life also it will hold lows better but on the matter of those subs UPGRADE my paper weight hits harder lol
I don't really remember. My power wire is longer than it needs to be and is looped in a couple of circles under my hood, so I say maybe 20ft and my RCA wires are about the same, if not 17ft.

Yes! It's an awesome vehicle and I don't plan to get rid of it anytime soon. I actually plan, if it gets to the point where I need something else for a daily driver, I'll keep it and just make it a more offroad and some street driving vehicle. I like it that much.
that amp is probably putting out like 100 watts max... those subs barely even move i mean i know they can only take like 150 watts rms but i doubt they are getting 150 each... pretty good begginers set up tho im not hating or anything just sayin...
I know, I had the amp turned down cause I had just got this not a week before I made this video. So i was still getting used to everything and letting my subs get some use before I turned my amp up, but I have had them over a year now, and I have moved my amp and turned it up, so there getting more power now than they where, in fact I recorded a video not too long ago I just have to upload it.
i got 2 12 inch rockford fogate P1 12's and a 1000 watt amp and they hit hard you can feel it in your chest big time i recamend them there great working subs im going to be posting a vid of them hitting soon so keep checking my chanle and see
You have those hitting pretty nice. I'm personally not a fan of RF subs bigger than 8" and those are just for mids. But anyway for only have 800 pushing those good job.

its alright. I know some people that have those subs, they art as loud as they should be when you push rms power. they arnt very eficient but they sound damn good
i work for a car audio shop and i can personally stand by these subs. i just recently put 2 of these subs in a dual chambered slot portted box on a kenwood amp thats dooing 700rms, and they pound WAAAY harder than i expected with absolutely NOO distortion. these subs can take way more than they are rated for, just like any other rockford product they are under-rated HUGE.. throw those bad boys in a slot ported box, turn you amp up and watch them work. lol
If I get a bigger amp It'll blow the subwofers. Anyway, I took this video when I first got the subwoofers and I had the amp turned down so I could break in the subwoofers and now blow them. I have the amp tuned back up so they hit and move harder now.

If you mean the stock Infinity system, then no, I don't have it. Just the normal radio system. I do need to replace my rear speakers though, they are the only stock speakers I have in my Jeep.

Does it look like a care? No. And of yeah your 2 JL's will sound better, these RF R1's are just entry level sub's that are less than $100, but they still sound better than a lot of over $100 subs. but a JL is really expensive and I don't know why you are even comparing my subs against a JL. There not even comparable, there is too much difference.

@ps3dcp8138 yeah man I don't know why people always like to compare subs not in the same category. The RF R1's are pretty bad ass for what they are. My ex ran a couple of 10's and they sounded great. I plan on getting 2 12s real soon myself.

@DarrMack I have 2 15" RF punch stage 1 subs in separate ported boxes in a '89 ford Taurus station wagon on a RF p400-2 and they're awesome. you can actually see the roof of the car move with the music. everything from the back doors to the rear bumper rattles like crazy. inside the bass is enough to make you feel like something's beating on your chest. for the price, you cant go wrong with RF. get 15" subs if u can afford it and have room....

dude usually if you don't have a port in the box it will put stress on the subwoofer because the air needs to have somewhere to go.

@TheNatestate no. Rockford Fosgate R1 Prime subwoofers are meant and made for a sealed box. Put them in a vented box and it sounds like SHIT.

I don't really remember. My power wire is longer than it needs to be and is looped in a couple of circles under my hood, so I say maybe 20ft and my RCA wires are about the same, if not 17ft.

Yes! It's an awesome vehicle and I don't plan to get rid of it anytime soon. I actually plan, if it gets to the point where I need something else for a daily driver, I'll keep it and just make it a more offroad and some street driving vehicle. I like it that much.

that amp is probably putting out like 100 watts max... those subs barely even move i mean i know they can only take like 150 watts rms but i doubt they are getting 150 each... pretty good begginers set up tho im not hating or anything just sayin...

I know, I had the amp turned down cause I had just got this not a week before I made this video. So i was still getting used to everything and letting my subs get some use before I turned my amp up, but I have had them over a year now, and I have moved my amp and turned it up, so there getting more power now than they where, in fact I recorded a video not too long ago I just have to upload it.

i work for a car audio shop and i can personally stand by these subs. i just recently put 2 of these subs in a dual chambered slot portted box on a kenwood amp thats dooing 700rms, and they pound WAAAY harder than i expected with absolutely NOO distortion. these subs can take way more than they are rated for, just like any other rockford product they are under-rated HUGE.. throw those bad boys in a slot ported box, turn you amp up and watch them work. lol

If I get a bigger amp It'll blow the subwofers. Anyway, I took this video when I first got the subwoofers and I had the amp turned down so I could break in the subwoofers and now blow them. I have the amp tuned back up so they hit and move harder now.
