There is something odd about this song.. its like music, tempo and lyric is from 2 separate universes. music is happy, and optimistic... meanwhile lyric is dark and angry. it's like they take punk or hard rock song and put dance music over it.. :)
I would expect Prodigy to have that kind of lyrics..
@yammie75 I think it was because this song (being one of my alll-time favourites too) was one of their best songs and the others were..... well, much more forgettable. But this song, this version has clocked up the most listens on my Ipod. After owning one for 6 years.
This is different from the album version, and honestly i prefer the album version. But the album is also 1 of my all time favorites. It's just awesome track upon awesome track. Sadly impossible to find vinyl copies these days.
It's on my "top5 albums everybody should know" -list, and on that note may i suggest a reissue totally unaltered on both CDs and Vinyl? For the sake of earths cultural legacy...
Do you have problems... does life throw you for a loop? Do hate it completely and find you wish something could be different... yet, you are trapped... in your life?
Do this... take this song.. and thow it very LOUD on headphones... and just cry...like I do!!!
Also -- many people think the name is "Pressure Us", when it is just Pressure. This came from different UK and US releases, resulting in the confusion "Pressure" -> "Pressure U.S." -> "Pressure Us" ...
1993 was probably the best year in the 90's for dance tracks, there are many old skool classics from this year, yet at the time I never fully appreciated how lucky I was back then and took these dance tracks for granted, how times have changed with the crap around today. I miss those years back in the early 90's.....
They had really bad representation, and had contractual problems as a result. Many of their releases became legal battles, and that vastly limited their audience. There are entire albums that went unreleased, to this day.
Remember this song well from college. I was a DJ at my college radio station, and played this song ad nauseum. Brings back memories. Thanks for posting!
I remember the first time I ever heard this, whilst walking round HMV in Leeds in 1993. One of those 'wow!' moments. Still one of my all-time favourites 15 years on. A total classic that never really got the recognition it deserved.
Excellent song!

God damn, I miss early 90's techno. It had such an energy that todays house and trance just cant duplicate.
And those pianos... :)

Awesome song! =) (BTW - the US in this song refers to the U.S. version. The song's proper title is "Pressure", not "Pressure Us".)
As a slight aside -- does anyone know what the guitar/bass heavy version/mix of this is called?
