My favorite book. They changed a lot for the movie, left out a lot of details but they did a good job with this movie. In the book, Francie burned up all her stories and made a bargain with God that she would not write if he would let her mother live.
the mom annoys me,.shes the type of person that would make me wanna punch someone,.not trying to be mean, i feel bad for francie at least neely always had the mom to fall on,. francie only had the dad then he died,.=((
@misslindseyxoxo No her mom is actually very loving.... She tries to balance the family with a gentile and sweet husband who unfortunately is an drunk. She never makes her husband look like a failure, but a wonderful man!!!!!
@misslindseyxoxo the mother might seem mean but in reality shes trying to teach her daughter to survive so she will still be strong when her mother is gone. Johnny loved his daughter a lot but he would rather have "given her a doll instead of milk" which doesnt teach a good lesson to a poor, hungry girl like Francie.
