  • Daniel probably just has aperger's like me. His story sounds the way Asperger's tends to work. Why try to fix a child? They are wonderful just the way they are. Yes, challenges come, but don't they come for everybody just in different ways? I am a mother, I have a good job and a business on the side. So how is that not productive?

  • Great news piece! I live in the OKC metro area and have a daughter with ASD. She is nearly recovered with diet and supplements (after 2 years), but if she accidentally gets gluten, she regresses back to the way she used to be. It takes 6 weeks to get her back. I guard her mouth with my life!

  • when I was a child, I have ADHD, and now I have it as an adult too, but maybe in lower degree. I have alergic to gluten and wheat too. and I am very sensative to smells. I personally think, disabilities ARE somehow related to food alergic and sensory experineces.

  • it's triggerd by gluten and lactose based products

  • If a child 'recovers' from autism, they never had autism to begin with. Autism isn't biomedical that can be treated with biomedical remedies, it's neurological, the way the brain is formed/wired. Any child that supposedly recovers from autism, was misdiagnosed with it from the start. That is the fault of the doctors who gave that label when they should have been looking for something else all together. My son has no biomedical issues, he is healthy, but he has autism. There is no cure.

  • @TheRealVenna There are different types of autism. Some types respond to these treatments and some don't. There is new research to support this.

  • @fuzzawuzz Autism is autism, there is a spectrum, but not different types of autism. A person either has it or they don't. There are other disorders and conditions that fall under the ASD umbrella that are not actually autism. There are also conditions where autism is co-morbid. These treatments are not real in the treatment of autism or any other ASD. Chelation is dangerous, GF/CF diets can help with digestive issues, but they won't do anything for autism.

  • Milk would not be the only cause but it could have a profound effect on her. I would suggest removing the cheese for one week to see if you can see a difference. Be aware that soy can also cause problems.

  • my autistic daughter has never ever had gluten. Do you think just milk could cause it? She only drinks allimentum (formula that is made for milk allergies) but she does eat cheese b/c else wise she'd starve. She still can't use a cup hence the formula and our worry she will waste away since she does not enjoy eating too much.

  • @rsfff You should remove all dairy as well as wheat. The fact that your daughter only eats cheese is a very good indicator that it should be removed from her diet. Gluten and casein has an opiate effect on kids with ASD. Also removing as much artificial colors and flavors and processed food in general from your daughters diet with be a huge benefit to her. The good news is that casein usually only takes a week or two to clear your system so you should see improvements quickly.

  • @rsfff Cont. As where gluten takes months to clear a persons system. My son was also addicted to wheat and dairy products. It was also a major concern that he would starve when taken off wheat and dairy. We implemented the SCD diet 7 months ago and he now eats more than he ever has. He went from being borderline "failure to thrive" to the 95th percentile for his weight. The first week or two might be rough. Just stick to your guns. You will regret not doing it sooner.

  • It must be so hard being the parent of a child with autism so I can see how searching for a cause and something to blame is so popular with many parents. But please have an open mind, for your child's sake! If you want to look for causes and cures, don't listen to quacks on the internet, speak to your DOCTOR. If you want the facts, try reading about autism on Wikipedia and follow the studies that are linked to there.

  • @blabby102 It's parents for parents of children with Autism? Bare in mind it's even harder for the children with autism themselves.

  • PLEASE STOP OR REDUCE USE OF THE WORD 'CAN'T'...if you think and believe that something can't that it probably wont...anything is possible, just believe and act upon CAN and WILL...

  • I'm very glad Daniel got better and I hope he continues to do well. Great work! :]

  • I was diagnosed with some aspects of asperger...'

I grew out of it, however I was still stuck in a terrible autism school... that sucked...

uhm, yeah... that't it... I did not take any special diet or medication or something else...

  • I wonder if this is related to breast-feeding your kid...If the mother is eating unhealthy, those minerals are passed on to the kid...or while in the womb, the kid is getting all these F'd up metals and minerals s/he doesnt need....

Maybe the answer lies within a better diet as a parent while pregnant and eating healthy while feeding

  • I see the frustration in daily lives of both these kids and families. Anyone saying that they are proud to be 'autistic' have learned most of the tasks through therapy and supplements. A boy I work for was constantly overwhelmed with not being able to open the door before his mom. Now that we worked on it that has passed and it is one less stress in his life. he LEARNED it! he is on the diet and chelation and suppl. IT WORKS for some. Family dont even know he had it and label is entirely off

  • Thanks for posting this. Everyone needs to see this. This applies not only to Autism, but most "diseases" out there.

  • YOU CAN NOT RECOVER! God, why is this so difficult?!?! Thinking like that will only damage the kids. Not to mention, autistic children can take care of themselves in ways others can't.

And stop acting like you're better than them, people. I'd rather be autistic, which I am, then be a normal boring person who doesn't have anything special going for them.

If anything, norms tend to have more problems they don't take care of while special people can. Though it does depend on how severe it is.

  • @ReinGatto1 I share your frustration. Too many people try to vilify things into being the cause of autism, yet studies have shown otherwise. Still they continue. My son has autism. He is the youngest of 6 and the only of my children who is not neurotypical. I don't believe his autism was caused by chemicals and heavy metals, but something else. It's misleading that they don't list the number of deaths from chelation treatments. Mercury poisoning is quite different from autism. Look it up!

  • I'm love how this is all about biomedical interventions but there are only two mentions of ABA. Daniel received 15 hours of ABA per week, no? And his parents attribute his recovery to the diet and the supplements? ha. ABA works people! Forget all the other crap.

  • I'm so sorry Luke's parents are spending $6000 a month. We healed our daughter for $800 a month plus supplements using NAET. We completely detoxified her for mercury, fluoride, pesticides, herbicides and other chemical neurotoxins. We stared at age 4.5 and she was completely healed by age 9. Now she is 14 and in gifted and talented programs. I wish I could talk to Luke's parents to explain how NAET works. There are no chemicals involved and no behavioral therapy. It's easy and makes sense.

  • You can't recover.

  • please listen to my 21 year old autistic son sing Alan Jackson songs aaaauction youtube

  • I am happy to see Daniel recovery, thank you for sharing with us. where can I find New Beginning N. book. also other than Enzymes do you give supplement with every meal. I thought that is what I heard this video. amazing recovery, your hard work shows and gives hope many people.

  • pokeruler100 you are wrong; I agree with jogtheviking because I have Asperger's syndrome and know myself that as a life-long condition, anyone suffering with an ASD who "recovers" from it never had it in the first place: they were mis-disgnosed by sloppy specialists.

  • She say it fast Chelation removal of heavy metals from Vaccines

  • jogtheviking, you are WRONG! I have proof.

    I am proof.

  • @poker: i am god, i have proof, i AM proof!

  • that is really cool he is out of his own world.

  • I see the mother is selling this recovery concoction- hmmm, thought there might be some gain in stating he is recovered.

  • No one whose life is effected by autism believes it is untreatable. There is always hope for recovery, good on you for trying.

  • There is NO recovery from autism, do not claim otherwise, it is a LIFE-LONG CONDITION!!!

  • Thank You MiSsSarahx0ox

  • Is that Daniel Jabonski.

Love Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy & Russell Silver Syndrome Michaela Schwartz, 16 years old & 4'9 tall & Madonna School

  • No. This is Daniel Knowles.

  • yeah, but there's a thing in autism called "regression" so we can all rest assured this kid will surely return to the LULZY EPIC FAIL that his life was.

  • What the hell are you talking about? Sure, there is a thing called regression, but if these boys keep up with the diet, and vitamins, they will never end up there. Take your freakin' pessimism somewhere else.

  • My brother is on GFCF and suppliments. My mom is a member of the Autism Action Plan. She got help through lend4health. We are trying to get more help because our regular pediatricians have not been helpful. They won't listen to our online DAN doctor. My mom gets real sad. We are looking for a new ped. in FL. that will take my brothers insurance and that will really want to help my brother.

  • That is wonderful that you're happy in your own skin (as you should be!) But these kids we're talking about are not always happy. alot of the time, they can not speak. They can't ask for something, or tell mommy when their tummy hurts! They need help! I'm sure if they could, they would ask for it!

  • @milograamans ?????????????????????????????????

  • it doesn't work for everyone.. but it does work

  • that is all lies ,i tried it for my son,thy are just trying to take your money !!

  • I've seen it for myself, in two of my best friends kids. It's not lies, and I have no reason what-so-ever to lie to you. I will not benefit financially by saying, these things CAN work! Just try it for 1 week, and see what happens! Wheat causes a chemical reaction in the brain. As does casein in milk. Just give it a shot! You may be thilled with the results!

  • Parents also need to stop obsessing over having the 'perfect' child when they clearly do not exist.

  • Looks like this kid had the same thing I did. I had a form of autism that I grew out of, I now have asperger's syndrome, I did not take any special diet or special therapy, chances are the same thing would have happened to Dan if he was left alone. The reason why this bogus diet theory doesn't work is because there are so many autistic spectrums, some of which people grow out of and have mild symptoms as a adult, and can function in mainstream society, this makes it 'look' like the diet works

  • This is not the case with Daniel because one time, I fed him wheat waffles in error and he experienced a huge regression. Once I figured out the issue and stop feeding it to him, within one week he was back to where he was before he regressed. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that the diet was CRITICAL for his recovery. You may want to see my other video that shows his speech therapist giving a testimony to what happened to his progress once we started the diet.

  • Diets such as this one is something that needs more research. Autism cannot be cured, everyone is surprised when I tell them I am autistic, I function quite well, but I have quirks that will never go away. I hate being hugged, cuddled, I have my obsessions, but I am married, with a house and job, I love the way I am. No one knows how Dan will do when he's a adult, but I do know that once you are autistic, it will never be 100% gone. My biggest beef is the people who think vaccines cause autism

  • See maybe the children are mislabeled as AUTISTIC, instead they should be labeled as:

    Toxic Heavy Metal Overload,

    Sensitivity to chemicals

    Nervous System Allergies

    etc

    etc

During the diet you can't even use soap that contains Gluten, not even detergents that contain gluten, lipstick, stickers, that is all out, if your kid is sensitive

  • @VideoPhotoFX

I don't think kids should be deprived of foods that are good for them. Stopping foods like wheat and corn just decreases the omega-6's and helps balance the omega-3. This can be solved by not having a special diet, and just give omega-3 supplements.

  • If my son eats bread he can't fall asleep untill past midnight. While his siblings are asleep at 9:00pm, he wakes up before they wake up.

Watch Dr. Rapp videos, I have it favorited too,

Bottom line is keep your kids healthy, feed them good quality food, without any preservatives, artificial stuff, and CHelation has its place but its not for everyone.

I too feel that after few months, kid could just change, but I see effects of diet within days.

  • @chibicat13 You don't "grow out of autism". Maybe you never had autism? That would be my guess.

  • @brianmaui

I am autistic. I was diagnosed when I was 3.

  • Thank you for sharing your story and giving us and others hope!

  • I am so happy for your family:)
