You need the PERFECT CHEMISTRY to have the best live show. Here, neither were on that night; most people would pay around $50-75 just to SEE Whitney's body, but the other $50-$75 needs to have that great charisma (voice, emotions, good background) to make fans on the tour happy. The first 10 shows or so will be CRITICAL to see how to tour will end up; rave reviews will mean sellout after sellout; "What happened to the voice?" will mean lots of half-filled arenas and some cancelled dated.

I've seen Aretha, Dionne, and Chaka in person or live since this performance. They all still sound good and really gives me faith for my Nippy to gain it back. Chaka did an incredible IEW recently in the original key and with great strength, and all of the women were standing and clapping. It was great fun!! Whitney's 2008 videos makes me CRY... while the oldies continue to shine, my Whitney feels like she is lost after her troubles. I pray for her after what happened to Michael Jackson.

well, You can say exactly what you want about Whitney. Even when she was sad, she didn't lip sync. She sung live. Celine has 80 % of her performances in the last year just lip synced. But she has also proved that she still can sing her songs like she used to. I think why, is because of all her lip syncs. Her voice has rested alot, and she hasn't got any vocal nodules like Whitney.

It may be the middle of winter right now, but simply look back at the meaning of Spring. It's alot like Whitney's career. Her first two albums were like Spring, the Bodyguard era was like Summer, and The My Love Is Your Love era was like Autumn. Whitney still wowed people in the MLIYL era, but there was growing personal conflict. Then came Just Whitney and winter with negative public rendition. It's been a long 9 years, and, like Mother Nature, Whitney and Spring will be here before you know it!

She had the guts to do it...i would have canceled or lips synced..used pitch correction live..anything to help the fact that she can't hold any weight in her voice. As a performer myself you could see that the sound was in poor condition it looks a disaster from the start. When Whitney started singing her second song you heard her ask for her monitors to be turned up. You can clearly hear her voice is there however it was a the band and backing vocals were all over the place!! Looking forward to the new Album!!
Ok Whitney fans i have some news... The other day i was chating with someone who is in the music industry... I asked him about when is Whitney Houston album is coming out... He said that the people are suppose to be aiming before summer... I asked him why what is taking so long he said that all her songs are not done yet... he said that her first single is done but there just waiting for an official date before they release it. he also said that Whitney Houston is drug free. Thank God.

If she were really trying to rehabilitate herself, she would do the work it takes to get her voice back AFTER being a drug addict. From what I see in this video, it doesn't look like she's given drugs up.

Whitney refuses to perform to tracks for this very reason. The band is taught to follow her lead whether its right or wrong. A track will embarrass you in public like this. Secondly, this city is 10 hours ahead of US and her voice wasn't having it. And thirdly, this was strickly a gig. She was working for a paycheck sick as hell. I wish she would be better to herself. She should have canceled this show and had a cortisone shot and slept through the night.

well, You can say exactly what you want about Whitney. Even when she was sad, she didn't lip sync. She sung live. Celine has 80 % of her performances in the last year just lip synced. But she has also proved that she still can sing her songs like she used to. I think why, is because of all her lip syncs. Her voice has rested alot, and she hasn't got any vocal nodules like Whitney.

@DazzAwhi Yeh i agree, it wouldn't have sounded that bad if she had some decent backing singers and musicians, OK fair enough she was very hoarse here but I still think it would have sounded much better if it was organised properly. At least she didnt lip-sync, theres nothing worse than doing that !

@whitneyfan90210 whitney has never really needed dancers shes not really that type of singer. the backing singers were the ones trying to rescue the songs but when your backing singing your affected by the lead singer in terms of moral and enthusiasm. that doggy little area at the back is a common place for backing songers thats why they are called backing singers they are not meant to be upfrontyour only realy supposed to hear them. stop making excuses for whitney's bad tired performance.

It may be the middle of winter right now, but simply look back at the meaning of Spring. It's alot like Whitney's career. Her first two albums were like Spring, the Bodyguard era was like Summer, and The My Love Is Your Love era was like Autumn. Whitney still wowed people in the MLIYL era, but there was growing personal conflict. Then came Just Whitney and winter with negative public rendition. It's been a long 9 years, and, like Mother Nature, Whitney and Spring will be here before you know it!

Sad, And I'm glad to hear she's clean now cause she looks spun out here. I agree with the sound too...just a disaster from the beginning. She had the guts to do it...i would have canceled or lips synced..used pitch correction live..anything to help the fact that she can't hold any weight in her voice. Maybe she was too high to know or care. Sounds like she has nodes. sad... Reduced her range to like an octave....maybe and a half. Still a huge fan. No one can sing the way she did. NO ONE!!

As a performer myself you could see that the sound was in poor condition it looks a disaster from the start. When Whitney started singing her second song you heard her ask for her monitors to be turned up. You can clearly hear her voice is there however it was a the band and backing vocals were all over the place!! Looking forward to the new Album!!

Ok Whitney fans i have some news... The other day i was chating with someone who is in the music industry... I asked him about when is Whitney Houston album is coming out... He said that the people are suppose to be aiming before summer... I asked him why what is taking so long he said that all her songs are not done yet... he said that her first single is done but there just waiting for an official date before they release it. he also said that Whitney Houston is drug free. Thank God.

i still love this girl, no matter what! i think she doesn't sound so bad. she can somehow hit the high notes. and the most important thing is that she tried to sing despite of some changes in her voice. that's why she is called "THE VOICE.":)

Whitney refuses to perform to tracks for this very reason. The band is taught to follow her lead whether its right or wrong. A track will embarrass you in public like this. Secondly, this city is 10 hours ahead of US and her voice wasn't having it. And thirdly, this was strickly a gig. She was working for a paycheck sick as hell. I wish she would be better to herself. She should have canceled this show and had a cortisone shot and slept through the night.
