All those White people causing crime in Detroit. Blacks are the victims and they even had a Hebe street cop with a huge nose. Wanna bet who produced this was a JEW?
First, 1-8-7 is California police code not used in the D. Second, not even a third of crimes are solved. Third, the D is a 'black hole'. Fourth, the state of Michigan pays out more than it collects to these Hollywierd studios. F the D.
So I just finished watching Detroit 187. What a fucking joke!
Of course they couldn’t be honest about the demographics of the crime in Detroit because that would be politically incorrect. It would be racist if you actually showed the truth because it would highlight very distinctly the fact that Detroit is a BLACK hellhole like all the others. It’s not mostly white like the show would have you believe.
Reminds me of an episode of Hill Street Blues...lol! So let's clear up some things b4 you all start thinking that the unrealistic parts in the show are true. First off ppl in Detroit dont wear GOLD TEETH! They DO like to say "What up Doe" old school translation " But what up though" outsider translation, "Hi ..How are you?" and since recently, Detroit officer's were intimidating to look and didnt play...most were big, black, strong, smart and had swagger..not corny lol!!. I luv Detroit!
I enjoy the show, especially living in Detroit and hearing the references to the city...I do wish theyd clen up up tho...its good but kind of cheesy and the coedic relief makes it kind of corny...could have been more polished but il be tuning in nontheless...

more tough talking sarcastic self-rightious cops. just what we need. they're the heroes while the real poverty of Detroit and real social issues are simulated into this illusion to keep the masses distracted and indoctrinated with the idea that the police help this society. No progress has been made since we first started glamorizing this occupation in the days of Adam 12.
michael imperioli, what are you doing starring in an ABC show... he should've gotten in another HBO show or like gone to AMC (breaking bad and mad men, good shows) or some other channel that allows you to swear
Another black crime drama about blacks terrorizing Detriot with their drug and murder. Just what a wholesome family in America needs to see. Niggers being typical niggers. We know it already.
@ePsil0n74 umm look at all the csi shows based in various cities in the world, and to be fair detroit does have a fairly high crime rate. i live in troy michigan just sayin
Detroit is a cesspool. The hipster yuppies who live off mommy and daddy all bought cheap property and suffering businesses and now claim the city as their own. Immigrants from around the USA who wanted to live in a 'piece of art', but are in over their heads. I dont see how a tv show chronicling the crime will help.
Detroit has such a disgusting history of Pig brutality its a damn shame that the first show to be made about Detroit has to be from the perspective of a Police Unit. And god it being aired on ABC, I can't wait for all the boring white people to be convinced that this is Detroit.
I saw a promo featuring each individual character, and there is this scene where this black woman takes offense to a neighbor calling her about her kids loud stereo. Isn't that messed up, a cop takes offense about somebody complaining that her kid is disturbing the peace, and her excuse was..."teens just play their stuff louder". Fucking palease. ..........
...........Yes, he's a kid, and kids don't have the full maturity to understand things all of the time, and that's what a parent is for, sheesh. Anyways, people of legal age do it all of the time too, what's their excuse ? That's why society is in the damn toilet, because even parents can't act like responsible adults, and in Detroit neither can one who's a cop obviously. This show I feel will skew the realities of why detroit is the way it is while glamorizing and instilling the ills.
the only thing they got right is fat fucking detroit cops eating food and not solving crimes, and yes this shit should have Dennis Franz tay,tay diggs and be on hbo or showtime not abc
@KentCountyMI That's not even true. It's 50/50. I successfully graduated high school so I manage to say Meijer, Kroger, and Ford without pluralizing them and I also say "Deh-troit" because "Dee-troit" is a pet peeve of mine, and yes I'm a local. It all depends. If you have an obnoxious Michigan blue collar accent then maybe, but it's certainly not how everyone says it.
@noyesa They aren't plurals, they are possessives - Mr. Ford's company, Mr. Meijer's store, Mr. Kroger's store - just like Field's in Chicago (Marshall Field - no "s") and Bloomingdale's in New York (the brothers Joseph & Lyman Bloomingdale).
Hey, noyesa - they're possessives, not plurals - Mr. Ford's company, Mr. Meijer's store, Mr. Kroger's store - just like Field's in Chicago (Marshall Field - no "s") and Bloomingdale's in New York (the brothers Joseph and Lyman Bloomingdale).
OMG... it's so crazy that I recognize all the scenery. I live in midtown Detroit. It might explain why there were so many camera crews this summer. Too bad I don't have TV. Maybe it'll be an excuse for me to get a digital converter because this looks promising.
they already fucking up not one nigga in DETROIT have gold teeth just little shit like dat ruin it 4 me it should have been a documentary they bout 2 have white drug dealers slanging on 7mile yea rite.
It's nice that it is being filmed in Detroit, but not a single one of those actors sounds like they're from Michigan. They'll get laughed out of Detroit if they ever pronounce Lasher incorrectly.
like every good new show, it will probably be canceled like all the other cool shows on the major networks.... Sorry people i have little faith on when it comes to these "MAJOR NETWORKS" to keep anything on the air for more then 1-2 seasons. They keep saying on past shows that there were not enough viewers, only like 2-3 mill. (SMH, Duhh) you mean to tell me thats not enough??
I feel bad for the writers and everyone who works hard to bring us decent entertainment just for it to be snuffed out by a "Major Networks" extremely high statistics review. We all have been let down before. get attached or don't, but don't be surprised if we all love the show and its gone after the 1st season (if that).
"CHRISTOPHA!!!!" Nice to see Imperioli back on TV, Going from a heroin junkie on the Sopranos to a Homicide Agent on this show is a big leap, but he can pull it off.
I think I might have driven by a scene they were filming if they were there in early August - saw a foot chase of a perp through a vacant lot off John R. just a few blocks north of Comerica Park : cameraman chasing the cop! - either that or it was an actual criminal pursuit...
the real detroit cannot be shown on network t.v. They should have done a HBO show like the Wire. Its too real in Detroit, to sugarcoat it and try not to cuss and show real violence. The show will not be authentic.
@knileb96 I absolutely agree. All this looks like is a standard cop drama with the D as a backdrop. I better hear somebody say "What up, doe" in the 1st show.
@joeslaps1 not to offend anyone, but I think the Wire was made more for the African American Audience . ABC wants Detroit 187 for the all around viewers. Just my Opinion.

This was not the original trailer; they removed the funny quips. The first being about the homicide board..."we just might be the last assembly line in Detroit." Another line, "This is what happens when you look for bullets in Detroit." Looking at this version of the trailer, I wouldn't be interested at all. Sorry Detroit, the cat is out of the bag! Detroit is long past trying to cover up it's dirt. Just own it and laugh at the ridiculousness of the histrionic and mendacious media attention.
Looks a lot like Southland....which is an awesome show. However the whole mocumentary thing where the characters acknowledge the camera doesn't look too apealing to me. Although it does look very grity by showing the ugly side of Detroit which I like. No offense Grim or anybody from Detroit
