  • what in denture tablets for?

where can i buy that from?

  • @02rash The tablets help to whiten nails. You can get them at at drugstores and grocery stores.

  • @DivineBlackness thanks :)

  • what in denture tablets for?

  • you accually should not use a zigzag motion if you file your nails.. just stay in the same direction because your nails can get weaker if you ue a zigzag motion. just saying ;)

  • What if I don't have a hand spa? Is there an alternative? :P

  • @sha101297 A small bowl with warm water.

  • bam! awesome video,

  • Thanks for sharing. Love your videos.hug.

  • OMG! I have the same nail buffer!

  • i love your personality and your reviews!

  • I can tell tht she's ghanian from her tattoo. Ghana all dai <3

  • @blacbabyphat6 Nope, I'm not Ghanian. I just have gye nyame. And sankofa behind my ear. :)

  • Great tutorial! Thanks!

  • I've been tryna keep mine in a square shape.

  • after this and few other videos I think I should seriously start taking care of my nails.

  • you sound exactly like meagan good!! good tutorial though, thank you :)

  • another tip:

You know when your nails get kindda yellow from nail polish?

add slices of lemon to the water you soak your fingers in and

    that will remove the stains

  • @rachl8400 I've heard of that but haven't tried yet!

  • You shouldn't really ever trip off your cuticles... If you get rid of too much, it can come back worse. It's best to just push them back :)

  • @PeeEsPee Also you should file/shape your nails BEFORE you soak them, because your nails will absorb water, making them softer, and makes the possibility for breakage much higher. BEFORE applying the base coat, use nail polish remover to dehydrate your nails, so the base coat really adheres well to the nails. :)

  • i heard that cutting your cuticles can cause infectons

  • you have such a friendly voice :)

  • Good job.

  • I agree with you 200%. I received a fungal infection that took one year and several trips to the doctor to cure. I have been doing my feet since that incident. I save money, time and no risk of infection.

  • I LOVE UR TATTOO ON UR WRIST! good turtorial too! :)

  • @franigirl429 Thaaanks!

  • Couldn't fit this in the last post but a tip I learned from someone is to use cotton pads and a lil bit of rubbing alcohol and wipe the nail instead of washing the hands. I also use a Hydrator as a base (Sephora by OPI) which is great either by itself or with a nail color. Great vids, keep them coming. It's great to see tutorials and product reviews for women of color by a woman of color.

  • Yep, the alcohol works too but I find that it dries my nails out a bit. I'm going to have to try that Hydrator. Thanks for the rec and support!

  • I, too, do my own manicures and pedicures almost 2 yrs ago after seeing how the salon I was going to cleaned their tools and basins (NOT sanitary!). I've always wanted to try the crystal file so I'll look into that and the Burt's Bees cuticle cream is a MUST! I use Carol's Daughters Cuticle Oil. It's good but Burt's would be easier ( and less accident-prone) to carry in my purse.

  • Some nail salons are SO unsanitary. A crystal nail file will change your life. :)

  • @nunyabiz000

I agree with you 200%. I received a fungal infection that took one year and several trips to the md to cure. I have been doing my feet since that incident. I save money, time and no risk of infection.

  • @nunyabiz000 how about a glass file ?doe it work the same as crystal file?

  • @lamekimkim Not sure. Never used one of those.

  • @lamekimkim yep

  • I think you also emailed me so I will respond to you there with a link. :)

  • when u file ur nails... ur not supposed to saw back and forth like that.

  • @zestrus11 You can if you're using a crystal nail file.

  • yh ur right, your suppose to file straight across (like your using a violin)because it damages ur natural nails:) (im a nail tech)

  • no need to buy all these stuff.. go to k-mart...there u will find a kit for menicure.. worth 1.99 $... and vaseline is there in all homes.. ok . then.. happy menicure............

  • Oh wow....I definitely need to check that out.

  • can u do a nail polish collexcction

  • I'll add that to my list of videos to do. :)

  • i'm just wondering if i can use petroleum jelly (vaseline) as a cuticle cream? i've ran out of cuticle cream.

  • Ummm, I would go with lotion. It's a bit more moisturizing than vaseline.

  • oh ok.. that's really good to know. Thanks for your reply and awesome video.. keep the good stuff coming =)

  • Some people have thicker cuticles than others. Pushing them down is okay. Cutting them off is not.

  • This is so helpful to me!

  • Do you have any qualifications in doing manicures/nails?

  • Noooope, I sure don't.

  • omg! i totally love this video!! i always pay crazy prices for salon manicures. i still love going there, but now i dont have to fork out the big bucks as often because i do this as a mantinance thing. thanks!! (:

  • I SO don't miss going to salons. I've saved at least $50 a month on that alon. Woo hoo! More money to go to other things. LOL!

  • LOL!! Exactly. Perfect way to justify it. Loves you for that. *hugs*

  • Thank you, I would so rather do this by myself than fork out some bucks and my dignity, while having my nail tech talk about me or not to me at all in a whole 'nother language. GAWD so rude and unprofessional sometimes.

  • I agree. I love not having to go to the nail salon. I miss the pampering but loooove the money I'm saving.

  • Glad you agree! Some poor women have had that bad service for years and don't know it shouldn't be bad. They just think, 'That's the way it is I guess.'

  • Aww, I appreciate it. Clumps loves the love!

  • Thanks you really helped me!

  • I'm glad! Thank you for watching.

  • Thanks for posting. I really needed this.

  • No problem. Thanks for watching!

  • Please could you give me some tips for totally jacked up nail cuticles like mine but I can't cut them cos' I haven't got a nipper but I've got all the creams and stuff.

  • you can use nail clippers if you're really careful. and sometimes you can use your fingernail to scratch it off but that's only if you put a cream on it beforehand.

  • Thanks for he vid! I'll be trying that sally hansen stuff!

Can you please do a tutorial on how you polish your nails? I'm a leftie and have such a hard time doing my left hand with my right!

What cuticle nipper brand do you reccomend?

    Thanks!

  • I will add that to the request list, chica. I promise.

I don't even know what brand that cuticle nipper is. I want to say it is Revlon. I got it from Walgreens. You can find them anywhere. :)

  • when you paint your nails, how long does it last

  • I usually polish my nails every day but if I am too lazy to do that I am sure to use a good base/top coat and I can get a good 3-day wear out of them on average.

  • I will love if u can list products to use on the feet. I hate paying money to get them done when i do it my self 2 weeks later my feet looks dry as hell.

  • I am soooo obsessed with doing my feet too. I pretty much use the same products on my fingernails, on my toenails. For my feet I use a Mr. Pumice bar EVERY NIGHT in the shower. I will also follow up with Vaseline on the feet and some socks. Try it!

  • I am definitely going to get some of that burt's bees cuticle cream today because i have such JACKED UP cuticles. I hate them.. :(

  • That cuticle creme is the truth!! Using that on your cuticles once or twice a day will dramatically increase the condition of your cuticles. You can do it, mama!
