Great guy. When he hit a Homer for the twins, and made the Phillies 5 run Lead go to 3 I think, We applauded him, and Cheered. Btw We lost that game. I have a special 1 in 1000 bat that is his 400th Career Homer special. Great guy. Even though if we kept you We would have never had Howard, we still miss you!
wait wait wait.... this guy proved you DON'T need steroids to hit home runs. wow, this is such a new concept. no steroids suckas! go chicago baseball woot!
Bravo joezak5 even tho he does not play in Philly anymore you still like him....Unlike the stupid Cleveland fans that boo him all the time...really how could anyone boo a guy like Jim Thome !?
I was there, and he went 0 for 4, looked like hell, then he comes up and drills the ball. It was also his bobblehead day, and the interview afterwards was pretty touching. That was a helluva game.
i was in right field too. As a lifelong sox fan i never had access to any playoff or world series tickets so this was extra special for me. Go go white sox. sox pride is forever
Just because fans don't go to the games doesn't make them fairweather fans. The reason I didn't go to this game is because the Bears played that afternoon and staying at home I could watch both games on tv. The night before this game, more than 36K showed up to watch a last place team. Last year the Sox averaged over 36K (90% capacity) during the regular season, which was among the top in MLB. Think about it, would you rather pay for playoff tix or a regular season game that means nothing.
what are you talking about, people were there to see jims 500th home run. I am a season ticket holder, and of the 15 games i went to last season, about 10 of them were right before thomes homerun or the day off. This run was the only thing worth cheering about last season. and besides that, sox always have a lot of people there. the least i ever saw was the last day of the 2001 regular season, there was like 20000 people.
Man I was there until the very last pitch! Looks like you got a great view of it! I sat at right field near the 3 sections back from the foul post. It was a great game either way and nice weather. Great vid thanks!
I can watch these videos all day. He is awesome and I wish he were still an indian. But I am so happy for him I could just cry. Great job and happy 500!
whats the name of the song there playing for thome when he got into the batters box

Assuming Griffey never used PEDs, then only 5 players have ever hit more home runs than Jim Thome without cheating.
