They are always black, but as they get older and their feathers come in, you can see the beautiful fluorescent blues and greens.

I don't know what alesburry ducks are - are they small? I just know that yellow bellied slider turtles can get quite big - my 2 biggest are about 9". They eat anything. I was just thinking they would take a nip out of the ducks feet. Just keep an eye on them.

Used to have a blue swede. Her name was Jake (we named her well before we figured out she layed eggs). She used to swim in the tub too. Try getting some minnows and filling up the tub and letting them go. She also LOVED little goldfish. Also, for a good dry snack she liked crickets and worms.

Thanks, he's grown so much. He's definitely a Miracle as he almost died at 1 week old. He's now 6 months old, very healthy and happy.

When my daughter bought him for me, they gave her the wrong food. It was medicated, which was very bad for ducklings.

He was a week old when I got him. Each day, he became worse--could not poo, stumbling all over, near brink of death.

I did quick research on ducklings and found the right food, nursed him back to health, had to help him poo (eww) and carried him around in a pouch all day with me. His name, Shadow had to be changed to Miracle.

I have other vids of when he was smaller.
