in 2005 he came to play in Argentina, and I was in the booth when he was setting up. I remember an Allen & Heath mixer full of extra gimmicks, and he told us "my dad did it". Then he proceeded to connect it to his laptop and he was mixing and controlling the software with it, all at the same time. 6 years ago it was quite impressive (there was equipment to do that, but in a more cumbersome way).
Used to see Ritchie (aka Plastikman) perform in Detroit. Amazing shows!! If you've never heard him before after being a so-called expert after 30yrs, then you've been studying history, instead of discovering the future. Don't discount his talent because of your ignorance. Take a listen and realize what you've been missing.
pioneer...hahahah.... Kraftwerk, Tangerine dream, Jean Michel Jarre, vangelis, Mike Oldfield, Giorgio Moroder, Kitaro, Klaus Schultz... these r pioneers...
@Misternadaaf Quite so. Or, if you want to go back even further, there is Léon Theremin, Edgard Varèse, Luigi Russolo, Joseph Schillinger, Laurens Hammond, Delia Derbyshire and The BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
@Misternadaaf No. Varese, Xenakis, Ligeti, Stockhausen, Ferrari, Henry, &c...that was 50´s (and even before) -- those were the REAL pioneers... And then in 60´s came minimalism, electric jazz, Wendy Carlos, &c and also first electronic pop bands.

@cullyvan Agreed. Never heard of this person and that should say something considering I've studied and produced electronic music for 30 years.
