This game was built around them, stop pretending like this game is as complex as the Tekken series or Virtua Fighter. i used sheik in melee, but i think shes way lighter here in brawl , u can easily knock her with 70% , thats the only bad thing, but shes really fast and has good recovery. :)

Man, I love how many comments I see trash-talking when this was before the game even came out in the US. The Lucas player played pretty decently but KDJ's mindgames were just too damn good. And as far as Brawl goes so far, Lucas is considered a far better character than Sheik.
People dont seem to get that this tournament was held BEFORE American Smash was released and BEFORE advanced techs were discovered for Brawl. ALSO keep in mind that they were using Classic Controllers so it was defiantly a different experience. Everyone keeps complaining that they would do better but put yourself in that place at that time and you know what would change about this video?...nothing, KDJ and Comp still would have beat you all, so STFU.

This has nothing to do with my reputation. This has to do with people saying they would do better, yet this tournament was probably one of the very first Brawl tournaments held where probably about 95% didnt know how to play the game or play with the control setup. Just because you "know of" KDJ doesnt mean you know how he thinks. KDJ would have beat everyone with his mindgames. That's what seperates pros from scrubs.and who are you to call us out and nobody knows who you are either
I think i've learned my lesson about judging people when they are playing tournaments that are huge haha. I just won the Canadian National SSBB championship, but my final match was disturbingly n00bish haha and long at the same time.
Not gonna lie, the Lucas really did suck. Sheik was kickin' ass though. Sweet vid, Lucas really blew. I know some players who are way better than him.
TURN ITEMS OFF!!! Playing without items makes the game fair. A player could be dominating and then lose the match because the opponent picks up some bullshit item. Super Smash Bros. is all about pure skill in my opinion. This was still a nice tournament and even though Items were on Sheik deserved the win.
I think if you don't practice with items off you'll never be able to do tournaments without them. Relying on items is a part of a players strategy and if they were turned off, part of that players strategy is gone. More advantage to the players that rely on pure skill rather than a cheap win.
when items are on, its a completely different game. >_> There's also skills to abusing items, and how you position yourself depending on the stage(example, you might have a 2nd thought about gimping or edge hogging if items were on). Overall its just 2 completely different games with or without items, but a cheap win is a cheap win(just chances of a cheap win are a lot greater with items..)
I don't think the purpose of this tournament was to show whos' best. It's to promote the game , thats why nintendo would host w/ items to showcase final smashes to casual players.
it was still an entertaining match nevertheless, so props to both players
He also didn't need to worry too much about picking up the dragoon right away, because even if lucas picked up the dragoon peice as long as sheik kills him, the Dragoon peice is back in the field and spawns where lucas is and with lucas at such high % its easy to just kill him. That being said if he got the first kill, then dragooned he could just light arrowed the third kill and it woulda all been over with Sheik at like 35%. Now that would be an awesome finish.
haha, Lucas actually has character advantage over sheik. This was probably not bad for the skill level given the date this was played so you guyz really shouldn't be that mean. For sure many people could have beaten either compton or KDJ aka daniel Jung with relative ease. For starters KDJ didn't at the time realize light arrow can kill at zero %, he actually tried to attack lucas some more, and he also missed a dragoon which is pretty unforgivable.
true any character can be the best if used correctly, though thats no the case with this guy using lucas. though i shouldnt talk as though i am a knowitall since i did lose this tournament before he did.
KDJ is good, far better than the lucas player, but at first glance seems to rely too much on old melee tactics. i guess we'll just have to wait and see when some REAL AT's are discovered (not worthless ones that an idiot found and named after himself).

I don't think the purpose of this tournament was to show whos' best. It's to promote the game , thats why nintendo would host w/ items to showcase final smashes to casual players.
it was still an entertaining match nevertheless, so props to both players

He also didn't need to worry too much about picking up the dragoon right away, because even if lucas picked up the dragoon peice as long as sheik kills him, the Dragoon peice is back in the field and spawns where lucas is and with lucas at such high % its easy to just kill him. That being said if he got the first kill, then dragooned he could just light arrowed the third kill and it woulda all been over with Sheik at like 35%. Now that would be an awesome finish.

haha, Lucas actually has character advantage over sheik. This was probably not bad for the skill level given the date this was played so you guyz really shouldn't be that mean. For sure many people could have beaten either compton or KDJ aka daniel Jung with relative ease. For starters KDJ didn't at the time realize light arrow can kill at zero %, he actually tried to attack lucas some more, and he also missed a dragoon which is pretty unforgivable.

Lucas > Sheik if used correctly. Lucas has plenty of annoying combos including the very basic A A A which is almost a circular attack.

true any character can be the best if used correctly, though thats no the case with this guy using lucas. though i shouldnt talk as though i am a knowitall since i did lose this tournament before he did.

KDJ is good, far better than the lucas player, but at first glance seems to rely too much on old melee tactics. i guess we'll just have to wait and see when some REAL AT's are discovered (not worthless ones that an idiot found and named after himself).
