  • This is the first video I saw of yours so I had no clue you had an accent until I watched another one. amazing job! :D

  • Nice you nailed like 99.9 percent of the lines. Good job;)

  • where's the shower mohawk?

  • @chloewalker8089 I couldn't do it. Surprisingly difficult to film yourself in the shower, do weird things with your hair, and capture audio at the same time!

  • anyone tell u that u remind them of Jesse Eisenberg?!

  • @KerrisLibertina All the time.

  • @RogueBlueJay

Good point. Now u get a thumbs up! LOL! And a sub!

  • Great job with the accent, most British people end up sounding like they're southern. You could have played up the Chicago accent but it was still very good

  • You and your dad have the same shirt?

  • @xXoUtWiThMyHeArTxX and hair :)

  • @RogueBlueJay ammature

  • @xXoUtWiThMyHeArTxX If you want professional stuff, YouTube is not the place to go looking.

  • thank you, this helped me a lot because i couldn't find any videos of the opening scene which i am studying so this seems close enough for me :D lol

  • @GroBom78 What are you studying it for?

  • @RogueBlueJay school, writing a film response...

  • This is awesome! watched the film yesterday, this is really well made :D

  • Mad props.

  • haha good job

  • This video would have been 10 times better if you did the shower mohawk. Still pretty good!

  • @ThatGuyAdrianLF I totally agree with you

  • epic fail ,u always look like you are acting, pardon my french but if u took a lump of coal and stuck it up your ass,in 2 weeks u,d have a diamond!

  • Where's the towel?

    Nice try.

    (pay attention: TRY......)

  • @Pascalsmit1971 Even over a year later I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. The reason no towel? I have no idea how to get it on my head like that! I should have asked my sister.

  • ... well, stop side glancing at the cue card 3 times a second.

  • @WebsterAnn No cue cards were used in the making of this clip :D I just like the film WAY too much!

  • 1:24 wow, you need to shave your armpits man

  • @kaal33 No, you must be confused, I am a male :P

  • Pretty good.

  • FAIL

  • I have the same external hd

  • now we can be externl hard drive buddies!

  • The movie version is better, so why would you do this?

  • @morbels hahaha, first of all, I TOTALLY, COMPLETELY 100% agree with you that the movie version is a MILLION times better.

As for why I did this... Uh... It was fun?

  • haha thats good

  • haha...dude ur so gonna get this vid taken off for copy right... but while its till up here ill give it 5 stars.

  • @xlrious1 hahah, I kind of doubt it especially considering REAL clips of the movie are still up :D But cheers for the five stars :)

  • this is so good! ferris Beullers day off is one of my favorite movies ever!

    good job! :)

  • improv?

  • i guess i just dont understand how its improv. please explain.

  • It is SO amazing that you don't talk with a country accent like all my other friends that are British. Switching between this video and some of your other ones is just so mind blowing. haha

  • haha, glad you think so. I am planning to do another, 'movie scene' soon so it might have an accent, we will see if it is as good!

  • awesome. I'll definitely keep a look out for that. :]

  • WIN!

  • AWESOME accent! for a moment there, i forgot that you're British!

  • thanks :D

  • nice it takes me right into the movie.

    GOOD SHIT

  • good job with your american accent- mad props- best movie evaaah

  • thanks :)

you did an awesome rendition of it!

  • lol x i am the walrus, good song

  • goo goo ga choo.

  • I am the eggman xD

  • hahahahaha

    awesome :)

  • Fantastic 'American' accent.

  • <3 It's like my favourite film of all time...pretty much anything by John Hughes during the mid 80's is just pure gold.

"Though we go, on our seperate ways, still the memory stays, for always, my heart says, Danke Schoen."

  • i've seen that film it's really good

now i wanna go watch it again

  • so good!!! i love this!

  • Funny video,I liked that movie, your shower seen was very clean,LOL. I was waiting for you go outside and get in your Ferrari. Peace

  • :D loved it!!!!! Haven't actually seen the movie but you did a good act!!!

  • aw gosh, I love this movie <33

  • This was good. I love the movie.

  • This was like ACTAULLY so amazing. Well done. :DDDD

  • how did you not laugh with the american accent??

  • I did it thru a couple of times!

  • nice!!!(^-^)

  • Pwahh :D hehe ali that was one of my fav vids by you :D

  • how much awesome can you fit on a wall that much: 0:34

  • I know! My entire wall looks like that! Lots of posters!

  • I just got told "Comment Limit Exceded." and to type letters into a text box. The last three letters were 'ali'.

    Reenact the whole film? :D

  • I like your armpit hair XD

  • this was so good! I need to see this movie again now. <3

  • Haha, this was great! I love this movie.

    Pretty good accent too :]

  • Never seen this movie, but I've always wanted to...and now I want to even more!

Your accent was pretty consistent and believable as well...good job!

    Awesome video as always

    =D

  • Brilliant! Loved it.

  • I've never seen the movie, but your accent still needs a little work. You're not perfectly consistent, and it sounds like you're trying too hard in some cases. Listen closely to the "get better pumpkin" part; it sounds more imitation-Irish than American. Also, pay particular attention to vowels, especially when they're near an r or p. With a little practise, you could be very convincing.

  • Yeah, the You get better pumpkin was difficult because its a female voice, then a male voice, all played by me, all in one take! lol

But thanks for saying I could be convincing eventually! That would be cool!

PS: See the movie, its awesome!

  • Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not saying it wasn't well done, but with a little more work, you would probably be able to fool most Americans most of the time with that accent.

I thought you got "they bought it" done quite well, but listen carefully to the way you pronounce things like "career", "bent over" and "car" and compare it to the movie; there is still a hint of your natural pronunciation.

If you're at all interested, give it a try; you'll see what I mean.

  • Fantastic!!!! And great American accent!!

  • You nailed it! Perfect! Brilliant! I loved it! That movie is a cult classic. It is so good it is timeless. It may be over twenty years old, but still hysterically briliant.

  • I missed so much school I have to take summer school

  • This is the first vid of yours I've seen, and you totally fooled me with the accent! It freaked me out when I watched another of your vids and realized you're British. So good job to you!

  • heehhe! Thats awesome!

  • Very awesome. I hadn't even realized the accent until I read some of the comments and realized that, yes! you are in fact using an American accent.

I'm gonna go watch that movie now.

  • :D such a great movie

  • man, now i want to watch Ferris Buellers Day Off .

  • I know! EVeryones been saying that! Im thinking they should have paid me for this!!!! lol, maybe I'll settle for not being sued!

  • Wow, when you first started talking, I was like, something is different. Then I realized it was your accent. It was so good, I didn't even realize that you were changing your accent.

Also, great acting. I want to watch this movie again. Ha.

  • I'm impressed. I think you should do like Hugh Laurie and star in a hit TV series, playing an American character. There were only one or two spots that you kind of slipped back into your natural accent but you have to listen very carefully to notice it.

  • Thanks :) Out of curioucity where did you think I slipped back into my normal accent?

I did the They Bought it , lin about 10 times, It stopped sounding like real words! Just couldnt get it to sound right!

  • Huh, a while ago when I decided to sub to you, one of the reasons was that you liked Ned's. Now here you are reenacting one of my favorite movies. So yeah... I guess that makes you cool.

  • God, I wish they would have made more eps of Neds!

  • Oh I know!

I wanted them to go to high school so badly. Between that and the suckage of new Spongebob episodes, I've been boycotting Nick since.

  • Sounded like a pretty good accent to me :]

  • That. . . was. . . amazing. Chicago accent was spot on =]

  • Why chicago? I struggle to tell american accents apart, except Californian (because I hear it alot)

I was copying the movie and that was the accent that was in it (give or take!)

    Anyways, cheers!

  • American (and Canadian) accents vary from place to place just the same as in the UK. You pretty much have to have heard people from a certain area before you can recognize the accents. I'm getting pretty good at guessing where people are from in the UK by their accent. The other day, I was watching a YouTube video and I thought the accent sounded halfway between Birmingham and Manchester. Then I looked it up on the map and they were exactly halfway between the two. I was proud of myself ;-)

  • The accents used in the movie were Chicago accents. =]

  • Great video :) This is one of the best movies ever! Also you did a very good job on the accent !

  • thanks :)

  • OMG - great job!! I'm American and you had the accent down perfect. :)

  • Thanks, I had no idea if I was gonna have americans cringe all the way through or not!

  • that's a great movie :)

your accent is great, i actually forgot you weren't american for a couple seconds!

  • Thats really cool!!!

  • hahaha

    killer job on this!

if i'd known you were doing it.. i could've sent you the cabaret voltaire micro phonies poster for the wall!

or the file of sigue sigue sputnik's love missle f1-11 for the soundtrack

(those are just the 2 things i remember most on that scene)

    still! *applauds* bravo!

and uuhh.. great excuse to let the ladies see you in the shower ;)

    hahaha

  • Yeah, but the thing about the soundtrack is copyrights again!

  • haha this was so good

    nice american accent

  • AAaaaahhhah I LOVE this. This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and the opening scene is so great, probably one of my favorite scenes of the movie.

    Great job :)

  • That was really good! Your accent is pretty good too! It was more because I knew you weren't American that I can tell you weren't American, but if I didn't know, I'd just have no idea where in America you were from and probably guess like Vermont or something.

  • dunno, guess I was copying the accent in the movie!

  • Well done Ali. I'd give this more than 5 stars if youtube would let me.

  • Egads! A fellow movie re-enactor! If you'd visited my YouTube channel just over a year ago, all you'd have seen is me doing movie scenes.

  • haha, its just a scene I wanted to do :)

  • Haha, nice one mate! I love that film :) And your take made it all the better!

  • Well Ali - when you are a famous actor just remember the little blonde kid who was in a collab with you! Absolutely incredible video!

  • hahah, I will :) I'll cry untill the big director gives the star a movie with all the old 'tubers! lol

  • Excellent accent my good man. I lived in Chicago when they were filming this movie. My bf at the time was one of his stand ins.

  • Not bad. Not bad at all! Great video!

  • Pretty good man, It was like watching the movie all over again

    Peace,ace77man

  • The voice made my brain shoot up a "wtf?" warning but then immediately pulled it down do to the awesomeness said in said voice.

    "said in said?"

I'm stupid. I can't even type the next sentence due to how stupid it was.

  • Bravo. Good Job. Looks like you are having fun with

Final Cut. My favorite quote is from Grace the School secretary. "The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads - they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude. "

    Excellent!

  • actually this was on imovie! lol, I switch between them!

    Oh yeah Righteous dude!!!

  • OK. So you are still a FCP virgin! You are in for great fun when you finally jump in to Final Cut Studio. I am hoping for a Final Cut project from Australia!

  • nah, I use alot of FCP just not for every project. It greatly increases the amount of time it takes (due to rendering and stuff. I only use it therefore for complex stuff (usually involving complex audio edits)

  • Nice job, Ali!

  • Very well done. I have seen this movie in a long time, and now I want to watch it today. Good job I have it on video tape :D

  • lulz,video tape!

  • Haha found it in a charity shop a while back for 50p ;)

So couldn't resist buying it haha.

  • 50p?! you get 6 for 50p in basildon ;D

  • Wow really? :O I have to go there sometime then!

  • Maybe Ferris would condone nudism...

    Nice job!

  • Absolutely brilliant! Well played and acted. You are a true thespian.

    I love that movie...

    Ben Stein calling,

    "Bueller........Bueller.........Bueller....

Now, off to sing Danke Schoen.

  • Aw, thespians! Such a great word!

  • "They could be fascist-anarchists, still doesn't change the fact that I don't own a car."

    Best line ever. XD

    Great vid!

  • totally is!He is obsessed about that car!

  • You ARE the walrus.

    No doubt.

  • No, Im the eggman!

  • Haha!
