this is the version from "The Fantasy Album", played by the Czech orchestra.. I loved it from the first time I ever heard it:it was on tv, as score to a documentary of wales and orcas in the sea of Alaska. Of course I recognized it as the Highlander soundtrack, but this particular version is pure beauty. Thank you for loading it.
I love Highlander !!! Of course, the original one with Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert is by far the BEST one !!!! Yes, Michael Kamen's score is AWESOME too, along with QUEEN...(smiles) ...and I am in my 50's and still love it !!!!
How can anyone even try and remake this classic. Against C. Lambert, S. Connery ans Kamens' score you can only bomb at the box office. Some movies/franchises should just be let rest in peace so that we can saviour their greatness!
best film ever. i watched it for the first time in 1993, i was 17 at the time and i got chills in my spine the entire movie.since then i trully live forever
This is very powerful music I like all of the music in Highlander especially this song snd Queen who wants to live forever classic movie music at its best RIP Michael Kamen.
I was hooked right from the moment I first saw that flick in '87 or '88 when it premiered on German TV. I was around ten years old. The sneakers / blue jeans / trenchcoat-look became a constant for my teen years - and I still do it sometimes today. I heard about a franchise-reboot - and I hope they don't do it. It could only destroy the magic of this movie.
Michael Kamens score to this relatively unknown movie back in 86 was so captivating. I personally vaguely heard of the movie until my roommate in college played it for me me in 1990. I was Instantly a fan of not only the movie but the soundtrack as well (Queen and Kamen) Even today this particular scene touches me,the whole training montage. It brings me to tears.
I wish this movie had more advertising back then, but I believe it still has a great fan base - enough to spark a TV series.
The Highlander Series started in 1992 - correct. I remember that Christopher Lambert Played bit parts in a couple of episodes. Im not disputing that. Im Just talking about the Score mainly and how the first movie that sparked the TV series and the movies seemed to be relatively unknown and mostly underground at the time. Just a girl who LOVES that movie and the score :)
@Ampersandra Im afraid you have misunderstood what I was saying. When highlander came out in 1986 it was relatively unknown(at least with me I *bearly* remember when it came out)
But it did have a great underground following. I was stating that this underground following WAS great enough to spark the TV series which aired in 1992.
But the point of my post was to highlight the fact that Michael Kamens score was outstanding! *God Bless*
@Mahlercougar you want ot know something I remember advertising for this movie, vaguely in 86', but they played up the soundtrack by Queen. It was in the theaters for five minutes and then gone. It wasnt until it went on video that it caught a cult following. The first time i saw Highlander was in 87 and the music literally captivated me,along with Queen. Too bad all the sequels sucked.
One of the most captive and beautiful soundtracks ever! Michael Kamen is a genius and HIGHLANDER will always be one of my most favourite movies of all time! Glad that I own the complete extended soundtrack on CD!
For all searchers - try "eBay" - I got it from there quite cheaply! ;-)
if anyone could make a vid with the beach scene from the movie (that's where this music is) i'd be over the moon - been trying to find it for months =(
Type in, highlander - training montage in the youtube search bar, and it's the whole scene where Ramirez is training Connor, including, the beach scene, it should be, 5:05 long.
You're not alone, I too feel the need to invest in the new undergarments after hearing this. Goosebumps all over...the thrill of all the potential this film series never lived up to but could still recapture!
