I had a diamond sword by that point, and was getting really cocky, when this massive slime, bigger than 5x5 blocks, and glitched through the mineshaft, but still somehow moving towards me. So I figure "OK, I just can't miss it, then." I attacked it, it split, I tried to fight them off, and they split again. By the end of it, I was cowering in my house with half a heart and about 30-some slimes outside my door.
Wow, you are SO full of shit. The largest naturally-spawning slime is 2.4 blocks in height, width and depth. There's a 4.8-block variant, but it only spawns if hacked in. So you're bullshitting us on the size.
Further, slimes split if AND ONLY IF the killing blow doesn't do even a half a heart of overkill damage. The largest slimes have 8 hearts, the next sizes have two hearts and half a heart, respectively, and a diamond sword does 5 per hit.
While I'm at it, the hugest slime--The one that you claim is smaller than yours, and doesn't spawn naturally to begin with-- has sixteen hearts. This means that attacking ANY slime exclusively with a diamond sword won't even result in a single splitting. Finally, when they DO split, they split into four. The smallest slimes are completely harmless. The absolute maximum number of slimes you were dealing with is 16, and they were harmless. If they could hurt you, there were only FOUR.
@ChibiTails I admit I was freaking out at the end of it, and didn't realize that I could stop running once they were tiny. It's possible that I have the size of the mine wrong (5x5 does sound a bit large now that I think about it, but I'm sure the slime was a Huge), but I remember the diamond sword, and I remember it splitting. I'm not sure if this was a glitch or something that's been changed or what. As a huge, that sets the maximum number at 64 (4^3), and I don't think I split every one.
I still don't believe you. There's no way that thing spawned without the game being MADE to spawn it. It's simply just not in the code for it to spawn naturally under any circumstance.
Plus there's the fact that 5x5 sounds too big for you but the Huge slimes are just barely smaller than that.

@Jaricko i also remember my first slime. it was trying to climb 1 block ledge that was over lava, but couldnt. i tried to save it by building a cobble platform on the lava for it to drop down onto, but before i was done, the slime dropped down anyway and quickly fell into the lava. feelsbadman.jpg
@busterboy360 That's a viable strategy, used to be you couldn't do it with an iron sword, only a diamond one. Recently everything got a damage boost, so now you can do it with an iron sword, too. :D It's not always feasible though because if the creeper gets blocked from backing up you might end up getting blown to high hell.

@RCeus255 Kill a large slime. get 3 medium slimes that grow into large slimes. kill those three large slimes, get 9 medium slimes, kill the 9 medium slimes, get, more small slimes then you can count, they will just grow into medium, then large, and the madness never ends!!!!
@HellHound60248 actually, from what ive seen, nothing says anything about slimes growing into larger sizes. from 1 huge slime, you only get 64 small slimes, after all of the dividing. if u use a weapon that doesnt take away exactly all their heal in a few hits, they will not divide. and btw, there are 4 sizes of slimes, HUGE ,big, medium, and small. and the damage is small. i guess huge does 3 hearts, big does 2, medium does 1, small does nothing. im running out of space now. bye.
@chiinatso only 2 damage with arrows. hard to kill with a sword, but easily killed with another bow, you can use their arrows to attack other hostile mobs to kill it, and are killed with sunlight. not much of a challenge, i would say. but a ton of skeletons may be hard to fen off, like trying to avoid dodgeballs in a dodgeball field. but i would say they arent dangerous. creepers ARE dangerous though, unless you have a bow and arrows. ghasts are dangerous too, and so are zombie pigmen.
@RCeus255 Zombie pigmen are only dangerous if you want them to be, if you're a good marksmen ghasts aren't an issue, also, you should never move on the surface of the Nether anyways. Skeletons are not hard to kill with a sword if you utilize the contours of the cave wall to shield yourself as you advance. Creepers can be killed with a sword easily due to knockback and being able to walk backwards, and zombies... pft, if anyone finds ZOMBIES hard they need to stop playing video games.
@sirfragalot92 yea lol but look at how funny skeletons are and how easy zombies are in Msanimator7's 75th episode and 69th to show why to be in the nether and how dangerous ghasts are and how neutral zombie pigmen are. :3
@RCeus255 Well, sure, if you want to use the Nether as it was intended AKA fast travel, move around, but you really should not just make a run for it. Make a tunnel, preferably out of stone taken from the overworld and glass because the AI can't see through glass so you can still see the pretty pre=placed Zisteauian Lighting Techniques and the Zisteauian torches all over the place. Also, Ghasts make huge targets so unless they're far away they really aren't hard to hit.
@jmjmjm97 Well, that's true I guess, for some reason zombies have a melee range of two blocks instead of just one on multiplayer. Whether it's to balance them due to having more than one person around to fight them or if it's due to bugs I don't know. It's certainly not just connection because even when your connection is good their hit range is BS.

I love slimes yet I hate them because they get in your way and then you end up killing them :( I have a slime farm now though it's hard getting them in a box to well at the same time you have to keep them in it without them following you

u make all mobs sound deadly in ur songs. like slimes can be easily drowned by water. and zombies are so slow, you can kill them easily. but i still like ur songs!

@RCeus255 Kill a large slime. get 3 medium slimes that grow into large slimes. kill those three large slimes, get 9 medium slimes, kill the 9 medium slimes, get, more small slimes then you can count, they will just grow into medium, then large, and the madness never ends!!!!

@HellHound60248 actually, from what ive seen, nothing says anything about slimes growing into larger sizes. from 1 huge slime, you only get 64 small slimes, after all of the dividing. if u use a weapon that doesnt take away exactly all their heal in a few hits, they will not divide. and btw, there are 4 sizes of slimes, HUGE ,big, medium, and small. and the damage is small. i guess huge does 3 hearts, big does 2, medium does 1, small does nothing. im running out of space now. bye.

@chiinatso only 2 damage with arrows. hard to kill with a sword, but easily killed with another bow, you can use their arrows to attack other hostile mobs to kill it, and are killed with sunlight. not much of a challenge, i would say. but a ton of skeletons may be hard to fen off, like trying to avoid dodgeballs in a dodgeball field. but i would say they arent dangerous. creepers ARE dangerous though, unless you have a bow and arrows. ghasts are dangerous too, and so are zombie pigmen.

@RCeus255 Zombie pigmen are only dangerous if you want them to be, if you're a good marksmen ghasts aren't an issue, also, you should never move on the surface of the Nether anyways. Skeletons are not hard to kill with a sword if you utilize the contours of the cave wall to shield yourself as you advance. Creepers can be killed with a sword easily due to knockback and being able to walk backwards, and zombies... pft, if anyone finds ZOMBIES hard they need to stop playing video games.

@RCeus255 Well, sure, if you want to use the Nether as it was intended AKA fast travel, move around, but you really should not just make a run for it. Make a tunnel, preferably out of stone taken from the overworld and glass because the AI can't see through glass so you can still see the pretty pre=placed Zisteauian Lighting Techniques and the Zisteauian torches all over the place. Also, Ghasts make huge targets so unless they're far away they really aren't hard to hit.

@jmjmjm97 Well, that's true I guess, for some reason zombies have a melee range of two blocks instead of just one on multiplayer. Whether it's to balance them due to having more than one person around to fight them or if it's due to bugs I don't know. It's certainly not just connection because even when your connection is good their hit range is BS.
