Dont be scared of a flat head; unlike a blue they have very little jaw power and will not hurt you . The tail is the biggest deal on them

@ImTooKnown i live here in NC also. i fish the Neuse river- i catch big flatheads on live 5in bream- manhadden- shad- live mullet- big crawdads. hope this helps. caught a 60 plus pound flathead on a 5in bream a week ago. and lost 2 15min before i hooked the third because of a small hook. changed to a #7 hook and hooked up.
