Secondly, I am planning to dye my friends hair next week, she has faded permanent purple hair, and I'm dying it blue-purple all over, with pink-purple highlights/streaks. Since they are similar colours, will it be okay to do all together, like do the lightlights in foil, then do the rest of her hair? And would I wash it out all together or the streaks first, then the rest? Since the colours are both purple based Im not too worried about them mixing x

@KeepingKibbles Hey, yeah, in fact you can do any colours together at the same time if you are careful, it only becomes tricky when you are washing it out, as the dyes can easily mix a bit. in your case you are lucky in that if they do mix it will still be a nice colour and not muddy. if in the future you are doing colours that don't mix well, then doing it in two stages will be safest. washing out the streaks then the rest is actually really difficult to do. Would love to see it when its done!

When you had the blonde hair wrapped in foil. how did u wash the black out? didn't it run onto the blonde :|

@deliciosobebe Hey, the black takes time to develop. so in the shower if the majority of the black dye is washed out, then the foil is removed and all the hair washed. the black dye wont have any significant effect on the blonde parts. Plus the blonde was then bleached. so no worries at all.

Hey, I have really dark black hair, I want to dye a small streak pink. I have dyed it before, I had a blue streak (i bleached the streak blonde first then added blue), it went green-ish and the bleach took about 9 months to come out. Is this normal? Advice? And any tips for when i'm going to dye a streak pink?

@FishFairy32 last time when you bleached it, it must not have been light enough, and so the yellow in your hair mixed with the blue to make it green. Bleach doesn't come out, it isn't like a colour. Bleach is where you take out your hairs colour, so you need to dye over it, or let it grow out. Dying pink is much easier then blue, i have a video on doing pink streaks, called "pink streak, with atomic pink, special effects hair dye."

@FishFairy32 the pink i put in her hair grew out before it faded. so a few months. depends on the colour you use, and how long you leave it in for, and the type of shampoo you use etc... but the pink we used was really good and lasted ages.

@SydtheKiddy Hey, there are some colours that tanned people can wear easily. but fair people can wear anything. its more about confidence and style then just colour. but having said that, a blood red or something should work fine. try find things of a similar colour and hold them up next to your hair. or even find some clip in extensions you can try on. see how they look, then decide from that!! :D

@hellokittyizawasome dont worry, you can do what you want one day. i had my whole head blue at one stage, looked great. and dying is fun, and if it doesnt look good, you can always dye it back.

@SpidorWeb could do, hard to say. depends on the exact shades. But atm i have purple with light brown hair.. and that looks pretty good. so things like that can work. can always try the blue and if it doesn't work bleach it blonde.

@DreamTonight1 hey, no worries, it was a black dye, but we ran short. so it just got thinned out in some areas. it did cover her whole head, but with the camera and lighting it shows up more patchy. but in natural light, and in person it looked much smoother and often totally black. just occasionally showing highlight areas with strong light.

If u want coloured streaks that last LONG go to a salon dealer (sells products used in salons basically) and buy bleach/developer an the colours u want plus the container, brushes, foil, that metal separator looks like a Rat tooth comb with metal end and start the process the colour is way more vibrant than drug store brands and better!

@thisishowitgoes32 can definitely get colours that last longer. but they are no where near as vibrant and bright. these two colours are two of the less vibrant in the range. but some of their others are the most vibrant and bright i have seen anywhere in the world. and some even grow out before they fade.

@BriannaBommb wildflower washed out faster then most colours i have used. but i dyed a girls hair with atomic pink, and it stayed bright pink for almost 3 months before starting to fade.... and even then it was quite bright. i think it depends on the type of shampoo you use, and how well it was dyed in the first place.

@0oDewyo0 depends on lots of things. fade time depends on how long you left the dye in for, type of hair, and type of shampoo you use. regrowth depends on how fast your hair grows. but in general i would redye it in 6weeks or so to keep the colour nice and bright.

@saikouxs100 lots of people ask about blue, it is one of the hardest colours to do. you have to make sure your hair has all of the golden/copper colours removed and is a very pale colour before doing the blue, or else it will either go green or a muddy grey brown colour. But if you can get your hair nice and light then you can get some really bright blues happening!

@haoemo Everyones hair is different, and each colour can be different too.

When i dye my hair it often lasts many weeks, and i get lots of regrowth and redye it to cover that, not because it has faded. but some colours fade faster then others.

They sell special effects locally here and they aren't that expenisive. I myself has a proffesional experience with dying hair wild colours. I love the choice of colours you decided to use, however the black wasn't a very dark black and it looked a bit splochy. The hair cut didn't blend very well either.
