  • seriously?? how the feck??

  • the bridge wins!!

  • When i saw this vid i knew he was going way too damn fast to even slow down to a complete stop to even see if the truck would even fit....Wut a dumb ass man fa real....lol

  • There goes his deposit

  • That's what happens when you rent a truck to an in-experienced driver.

  • they stopped flashing finally

  • Sorry Guv. the bridge shrunk as i approached.

  • not only did they ruin all of their stuff in the truck but now they just bought a totaled truck, sucks but as long nobody got hurt.....EXCEPT that woman's ego that was driving the truck LMAO

  • judging by the number of bridge strikes i would say this is a decently used roadway..you would think that after a while traffic engineers would instal a mcdonalds type clearence bar about a quarter mile before the bridge so there wouldnt be damage to vehicles...why such a low bridge downtown anyway?

  • One time, I was pulling off the freeway at the exit I take to go home and this exit goes under an overpass. Well, there was a flat bed with some sort of fully built wood shed or playhouse type thing and apparently, the shed thing was too tall and the point of the roof hit the overpass and completely ripped the building off the flatbed and it shattered all over the lane. I thought the bulk of it was going to roll down and hit me, but it stopped.

  • at least there was a cab beside them :D

  • Living next to this bridge is probably the highlight of these people's day.

  • Anyone that can pop a wheelie in a Penske truck is a BOSS!!!!!!

  • This truck is clearly 13 6 and the bridge it's self was about 12...lol can you say morron...

  • @navybeanification box truck 12' 6"

  • Ryder and Penske... they'll rent to anyone... IMO These 5 tons should require a CDL regardless of the brake set up...

  • truck drivers have got to know the basics. Going under bridges is always risky, you gotta know what you are driving. Think about the height. underpasses are no place for trucks, know your height, and then take the alternate route if you see a bridge that is too low.

  • big hit... front wheels got about 5ft in the air... impressive

  • Well at least,....his new promotion is safe now.

  • Glad you had fun... Altough the driver should have looked better but he could be seriously injured.

  • Thats gonna leave a mark

  • was that a cop behind him lol?

  • @wardragons00 No it was a taxi

  • You would think in this day and age they could make up a laser tripped overhead clearance warning system. If a truck was approaching the hazzard area and cut the beam of the laser, more warning lights would be activated. A truck taking a side road could ignore the extra warning.

  • and the bridge was like, "nnnnnnn-ope!" :)

  • Pity the guy didn't have his head ripped off

  • and the bridge did not give a fuck

  • Good luck getting your deposit back!

  • The bridge is like..."YEAH, WHUT?!?"

  • Looks like it popped it up so hard it cut pieces out of the asphalt

  • Cum On Feel the Noize solo in the background, hell yeah!

  • 3way stop?

  • they need a stop sign that way people arnt driving that fast into the bridge...

hope they got the extra insurance they always try to sell you when you rent a truck!

  • penske trucks never learn

  • fucken dick head

  • Dig the road deeper...

  • @JohnDH1977 sewer pipes, bro

  • I don't understand. Some of these box trucks have the height printed backwards on the body so u can read it through the rear mirror. Look once, think twice.

  • It doesn't make any sense to spend so much money to raise the bridge. Why should the City pay up for the stupidity of these drivers?

  • Did I hear someone in the background say that was the second time today? Too funny!

  • You could throw a few hundred grand at this bridge and put up a dual stop light, or just let the local treasure alone.

Next time we visit the out laws in SC, I'm going to take a side trip to see the 11-8'er.

  • É um imbecil mesmo!BURRO...

  • Bridge: 1

    Moron in truck: 0

  • Is the bridge ok??

  • massive Decelration.

  • The city should do anything dumb like, I dunno, put a stop sign before the bridge. Yeah, that might work,

  • @droppolo Yeah, blame it on the city... it had nothing to do with the driver being a moron...

  • Derpy derp. On the way back to the rental place to return this truck and collect my deposit.

  • I've seen more than 1 truck drive under a clearly marked 11 foot 8 inch bridge and there tractor/trailer is at 13 foot 6 inches.....How dense can a driver be?

  • It is a rental, the driver of it, the driver is probally not trained on hieghts.

  • @benjamin5028 its got big ole stickers all over it telling you the height.

  • @Duckyistrippin Yeah I know, I work in a gas station they never read the dam things, one of those rigs took out light on our canopy. Completely crushed it. Hieght listed everywhere!

  • @benjamin5028 You cant learn stupid, ya gotta be born with it!

  • Funny, I've never known sound to travel faster than light.

Guess this video proves that wrong.

  • Cool a Ryder truck pulling a wheelie! if they had an over height span or warning device it might of stopped the dufus from wrecking the truck and possibly messing up the bridge, who cares if he had to back up a mile, beats wedging the truck under the bridge. I'd be embarrassed t do it but not as embarrassed as if I hit the freakin bridge

  • 11'-8"

  • you would think they would close down the road to trucks that big...or at the town could make the road dip under the bridge a tad more....at least direct the big traffic around that area

  • I hope that guy bough the insurance if he didn't he bought the truck

  • truck : IMMA HIT YOU BRIDGE, GET READY TO BE DESTROOYYYYEEEEDDDD!!!!!!

Bridge : man.. my belly itches -_-'

  • I love this website!!

  • any one ever heard of cashew mill rd in Newark Delaware it,s under pass has calmed countless u haul trucks

  • Should've put a cargo crash test rating instead

  • maybe its a secret goverment crash test with these trucks!!!!

  • Thats a really well made bridge

  • well that truck looks like its from the second world war anyway so its better of demolished ...

  • Unfreaking believable! You would think that since this is an obvious major problem- 13 trucks in 13 months, that they would LOWER the roadway under that thing about a foot- ramp it down and up on each side.

Geez, Ive seen the DOT raise up traffic bridges over the freeway a foot when multiple repavings and road work built up the road under it too high.

  • Same bridg :D another truck :D

  • WOW it looks like a bananasplit :)

  • Rent a truck and return a flatbed? Could lose your deposit for that!

  • @eddiebruv Always buy the damage waiver, lol.

  • hope he got the extra insurance......

  • Um , Hello Mr Penske , Do you remember the um , um , truck I hired from you ? Well um , there is this bridge.................

  • That bridge is the greatest troll of all time

  • Daddy the top came off

  • Looks like a newbie driver.

  • @WeirdoWithABeirdo84 Well DUH, it's a rental truck. It's not like the guy drives them all the time

  • @Ninjalectual Thanks for explaining the obvious.

  • The bridge wins again. If they had a lightweight span just ahead of the bridge that would alert the truck driver when it hit the top of the truck before it got to the bridge. This would save a lot of trouble. Of course this accident was the drivers fault. But my idea might have prevented it.

  • @ejcm55 ... an overheight beam is usually a good idea, but here it can't be done because overheight trucks have to be able to turn into the side streets.

  • @yovo68 In which case you set the crossbar higher than the roofline of any truck that wouldn't be a police escort requiring abnormal load, and have dangling, rubberised chains and/or a lightweight (vinyl?) sign (with rounded edges so it doesn't snatch) hanging down from it to about 11ft 6in off the deck...They'll make a noise along the rooftop of any overheight vehicle without damaging it (might mark it, but not damage) whilst allowing them to pass & turn off. Seen it done in enough other places

  • @yovo68 one would think that if the sign thats flashing means your to high one would go around, but maybee not

  • @yovo68 Classic case of a non CDL possessing idiot renting a truck clearly too big for him to handle. Either a Frieghtliner or International. Either way Penske Spec's these trucks with hydraulic brakes and registers them at the maximum legal weight of a standard license. As a truck driver we see this and many other dangerous manoeuvres by drivers like this, especially people and their Rv's who seem to think its the same as driving their car. Gov needs to close that loophole

  • @ejcm55 "A truck does not a trucker make." most of these are under 26.001lbs GVWR, so anyone with a class C could drive these. The words “Truck Driver” is use way loosely. Even someone driving a small pickup, calls themselves a truck driver.

  • convertible

  • Pink slip

  • "But i drove under it yesterday with no problems-in my Toyota"

  • "Ja git yer truck stuck?" "Naw, I was just hulin this overpass and I ran out of gas!"

  • great shoot angle :)

  • it was 11 foot 9...

  • asshole^^

  • 0:39 "how many times do they have to do that?"

    haha! funny reaction ^^,

  • Audio sync fail

  • Sweeeeet wheelie!!! :D

  • The only thing not working is the brains of these drivers. They're plenty of warnings at that bridge. I can bet all they thought about was getting in and drive, who cares about the dimensions of the thing.

  • He smashed right into the low over pass sign with 2 blinking lights. some times when driving a truck it is a good idea to get out and look at things , like where you want to back into, also lok at where you are going into incase that you can't get out

  • You imagine the g-forces at impact, let alone if the driver didnt wear a seatbelt.

  • IT PEELED LIKE AN ORANGE!

  • HAHA!!! That driver knows how to make a wheelie with a truck :DDD

  • rental truck ,.....

  • I love this bridge!

  • Rental driver.

  • i give props to the guy listening to ratt round and round nice choice

  • Amazing no one gets out and sees if the driver's ok; especially the cab driver. Also, I hope there's a sign way before that bridge because by the time you've approached the bridge and see the sign, it's a little too late to try and stop a rig.

  • The braking force must have been somewhat evident... Maybe equivalent to landing a plan on a carrier. Or..? I guess the driver just had to know.

  • "Just a little off the top"

  • ... what bridge?

  • So, your job is keeping the camera rolling waiting for an accident...

  • should have gone to specsavers! (Y)

  • I know the guys at this web site for bridge crashes sit around all day getting off on this shit.

  • @SellTheBenefits Can't blame them, it's rather amusing :P

  • Good one.

  • goes to show 11 foot 8.5 inches > 11 foot 8 inches

  • do a compilation of this bridge for christs sake

  • where is this fucking bridge...

  • Gotta love a rental and people who have never drvien a moving truck before.... Stop being sheep and think before you act people!

  • See sound does travel faster than light....

  • wheelie!

  • Thanks for the info - I guess these drivers either didn't pay attention or maybe the bridges were marked wrong.

  • @corky7ca Well... they were all rental trucks that hit that bridge. That goes to show you that there's people out there driving a truck thinking that it's a car. Bwuahahaha!! I don't think that they check the height of the trailer before they take off..

  • wheres the swift logo!

  • @blkbvr

    or CRST!

  • @blkbvr Hey man! I drove for Swift and I'm pretty good. It was the other students that I was worried about. LOL!

  • again?!

  • That truck forgot to hit the crouch button.

  • Shouldn't they tell you when you rent the truck how high it is? I wouldn't have a clue if I rented a truck. Does it say somewhere on the paperwork? If not, it should.

  • @corky7ca Generally it's on the windsreen of renta trucks.

  • @corky7ca when i rented the uhaul i read the manual they have its says in there. Also in my truck it had stickers on the dash very clearly stating the clearance required.

  • @corky7ca it says it right on the mirror of the truck

  • DO you live right there? Must be fun!!!

  • They should have had lots of signs up, maybe with some flashing lights warning of the height restriction to prevent this kind of thing.

  • These rental trucks do not require anything more than being maybe 25 years old and having a car license. As a big truck driver I see many damaged vehicles of this type.

  • another DF

  • thats when you drive away

  • Just because you can rent a truck...does not make you a truck driver lol

  • LOL! I don't know why, but I find that comical! Idiot....

  • its a cabrio now xD

  • Having watched the videos on 11foot8.com, I'm shocked that they haven't fixed this. They could simply remove 2' of earth beneath the bridge, which I think would be a better solution that raising the bridge.

  • I wonder if they got their deposit back? LOL

  • @TheSeattleTexan Yeah try explaining that to the rental company.

when we moved in 1980, my uncle rented a ryder & said we had to go a different way to

avoid low Bridges, geez i learned that back then & i was 10.

id go out of my way anytime to avoid this.

  • Honey, im gonna be a little late tonight, but dont stay up and wait for me ok, lol

  • Comment removed

  • a la verga!

  • love how nobody got out to see if he was ok

  • @mharrop396, you are 100% right but damn it is funny and if i was in one of those cars at the light and saw that i think i would have died from laphter haha

  • WTF THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF YOUR SCREEN AT 0:27. GHOST CAR?

  • DENIED!

  • JAJAJ SUELE PASAR

  • @neonlights0488 en tu pasi se negros cara de indios suele pasar macaco olor a mono

    jajajaja

  • this is a famous bridge...

  • idiot ...

  • I CANT BELIEVE THE ENGINEERS NOT MAKEING THE ROAD ONE FOOT DEEPER UNDER THE BRIDGE TO AVOID THIS COMON PROBLEM.

  • @nycworldsfair Could be the city/town doesn't want to spend the money. Seems if it happens often enough they would to keep that bridge from being damaged and possibly causing even bigger problems with it collapsing while being traversed. But it's typical of don't fix the problem until a real disaster like that.

  • @Nivicoman ... Norfolk Southern installed a crash beam right in front of the trestle to protect the structure. A 100-year-old sewer main runs a couple of feet below the road, so lowering the grade of the road is not a real option. The road has a 25-MpH speed limit and most truck drivers see the signs and turn onto the side street. Drivers of overheight trucks who are speeding on this stretch and/or who are inattentive occasionally pay the price for their mistake ...

  • @yovo68The city might have to upgrade the sewer main before it starts having leaks. That would be a chance for them to reroute it if possible and deepen the road bed. Obviously lowering the main would screw up the gradient. At the least they post the bridge height so they're coverered in that aspect but my thinking has always been to fix the problem rather than work arounds.

  • @Nivicoman ... the owner of the trestle, Norfolk Southern, installed a crash beam years ago to prevent damage to the trestle. So a major disaster is unlikely. The crashes are still a real hazard, but mostly to the inattentive driver himself. Of course if you follow too closely, or text while you drive, you might end up on one of these videos as an extra bonus ... see my website for more info about this canopener bridge.

  • 11' 8". Learn it. Live it.

  • the driver of the truck was probably like " Wowee WTF did I hit !?! "

  • i think i can i think i can i think i can i think..... i lost my rental money

  • SRY guys

  • It was a rental truck driven by an inexperienced driver. A professional truck driver would have known that bridge was way too low and would have chosen an alternative route to get around the bridge.

  • alright Sherlock no need to explain the obvious

  • It just went form a rental to a purchase!!!!

  • so this is your hobby? videotaping peope hitting a bridge all day. you need a job

  • I'm a truck driver from NC and I've had to turn around at that same bridge, there is hardly any room and I've pissed a lot of people off in the process. This bridge looks a lot higher in this video than it does on the street. I'm just glad I never tried to go under it, I almost went for it once. Lol

  • ...maybe he thought the sign was just showing him the current time?...

  • i hope the bridge is okay

  • popped a wheelie.

  • So thats the one structually sound bridge in the US, Awesome!

  • That's not covered under the Penske insurance policy! Lol

  • HAHA WHAT THE HELL xDDDD

  • I give him extra points on the wheel hop!
