@LMHS63 so when your cats are done scrapping kitty litter over there fresh poop you allow them to jump up on the table, you can tell alot about a pig too
Great video's got my first Garand a few days ago, I agree with everything you said. Awesome gun and it is cool to know that you are holding the gun that was so important to the US during WW2
@frankward67 gotta get a vid up for it man!!!... I bought the bayonette later down the road for this and it makes the gun look awesome...just feels good while holding it
Are you sure abut the 10 clicks = 100 yd zero? I don't have an M1, but I just watched the old WW2 Garand training film and it says 10 clicks = a 200 yd zero.
Beautiful rifle, Isky. Just sent in my ppwk to the CMP for a correct grade Greek return HRA. Now the damn wait! Been scanning the web for any info I can get. Thanks for the vids, and for your the service!
@PRao700 the ar is a very fun and easy rifle to shoot.. however there's something about this rifle I can shoot it till my sholder falls off than i should switch to my weak side and keep shooting.. it is a sure pleasure to fire..
if you really like M1 Garands you should go and get some of Scott Duff's books. he is an expert on the M1 and so is Jim Thompson, both avid collectors and shooters with multiple books on amazon.com
Hey can some one help me with a question about the garand, one of my friends has showed me one that was given to him by a relative and it has a three digit number Hand painted on the but stock what does this mean
I've got a full WWII American 101st AB impression (mainly reproduction as I'm on a budget) and all its missing is one of these bad boys. I'm 17 now, soon to be 18 and I'm going for my FAC so I can hopefully find one of these beautiful rifles and complete my collection. :D Such an awesome rifle.
@foist101 I wish you luck. there absolutly beautiful.. Hang around cause in maybe a week or so i'll be posting footage of me shooting this Garand in fun and in rapid fire sucession
@lskw1 Yeah, except the sight knobs are Korea, the rifle was re-issued in Korea. I have to find the Windage and elevation sights. The reciever is 1944 though, im not sure, i still have to look i just got it 2 days ago. Other than that, it's all original.
@WWIIAustrailianTroop will be worth a pretty penny in years to come. you shouldn't have issues w/ those parts there's an aray of sights deticated to M1 parts. good luck.
Wow... so I can tell Chrome warned you about my perversion lol:) He is too kind to me, and a class act all around. I am so glad you said its an honour to own this rifle - I think its important to get that across, especially to those who will never meet the grandfathers and great uncles, etc., who actually saw WWII. Our society isolates us from the wars our servicemen fight for us, and feed us little digestible chunks in the media... LEST WE FORGET. But I digress...
@gnashings Sorry about the history tirade... just something close to the heart for me. About the vid - I LOVED IT. OK so I am one biased fuck, but still - I will try to be objective - lost of great info, great anecdotes from your personal experiences, and its really obvious that you have a huge amount of respect for what that gun represents, and a great passion for the history. Oh yeah, and it is a beauty:) One more thing - I dig the cat, let him hang out, man! He seems like a cool feline.
bro you got such a great rifle...i wouldn't say your lucky you got such a good deal on this gun...god let there be a good deal on this gun b/c he must love you....lol...cant wait to see it on sat...
Bro, I am going to fly up and go to the range with you, I wish. lol. I am telling 30-06 is a mans round and it feels like shooting a .22 with it. It is such a well balanced rifle and add the wieght you have a sweet shooter.I am happy to helped even in a small way. Have fun and do clean it as quick as you can when done shooting, it makes all the difference in the world and much easier on you.Bring on the range.
@lskw1 Then after the AK, I'll be getting an AR, most likely the M4 Carbine model... but I know nothing about M4's like I do Ak's so have any advice? I'm looking for a very good M4 Model with a detachable carry handle because I want to mount a scope on it without it looking stupid and clunky... got any ideas?
@lskw1 Look, at least thats one thing I do do before I buy a gun... I study the shit out of it so I know it down to the history of the firearm and the price range lol.
I have 2 Garands. I purchased both of them from the CMP. My first is a '43 SA and the second is a '55 HRA. They do a real nice job on pumpkins.
