It's comimng to the Baltimore Maryland Science Center from Febuary 2nd to September 1st... and OMG my class is going on a field trip to it in April... I'm okay with it but I don't want to see the pregnant woman body!!!!! T.T
i don't really have an objection to the adults that signed up, hell, i may decide to donate my body it's kind of a cool memorial. but i really don't agree with the animals or the small children. This is coming to where i live and i'm kind of torn on if i want to see it or not. it looks interesting, but i think some of it would bother me...
i live in Miami but i've been to the one at Chicago Bodyworld 2, WOAH is all i got to say, it is AZAMING. they don't smell and it wouldn't gross you out, what it would do is make you much more curious and read everthing their all interseting as hell, you end up learning much more of human body then at school, i saw camels also :P and i went to the one at Miami
I just got back from Body Worlds 2 in Chicago. There are displays for just about every organ and body system. Some bodies just show all of the circulatory system with the blood dyed red. It surprised me that there are animals on display. I really like the camel display because it's huge. Of course, part of the exhibit is about how you can donate your body for science. I would recommend seeing the exhibit if you are in the medical field or just curious about anatomy.
this is absolutially amazing and i am soo inspired by Dr von hagens work (14 years old too) and i wish to see his exhibition when he comes to australia
I saw this today and NO it is not smelly. If it were smelly then that would be REALLY bad and would mean that the plastinates were not completely sealed.
Their is a lot of controversy over this its true. People aren't so much offended by the bodies as to the fact that they are posed to look more aesthetically pleasing.
The bodies in the Body Worlds were all donated by people who signed up for their bodies to be plastinated. A process which involves dehydrating the body of all bodily fluids and a process called plastination..They basically take the dehydrated body and cover it in a plastic substance to preserve the body. Most plastinates did not produce a odor.
I am going today to the O2 London to see it! I had already seen them in Manchester!

That's pretty cool. the vid needs some background noise/music. something classical might work. it's just too quiet =/

Yep - Philadelphia not NYC. I was unable to visit the exhibit but my Father was. He said it was awesome. Plastination is an incredible process.
