Back in the '60s, when I was in high school, I had an automatic record player in my room. Every night before I sacked out, I would put on a stack of my favorite albums, turn the volume down low, and go to sleep listening to them. After I crashed, the remaining records would play as I slept. That gave me an almost encyclopedic knowledge of lyrics, and all the minute nuances of the music of popular artists of that era. Yes, my brain is filled, every neuron, with irrelevant and useless information.

Probably commented here before but tough, I can't remember doing so, so it may as well never happened either way. My nan had a record player. It was in the front room where all us kids were ushered in to stay out of the adults' hair while they had coffee or whatever. Anyway, nan let us use it so long as we were careful. The device always fascinated me. Shame she got rid of it, though she probably had her reasons.

my uncle own a record label with his friend and instead of producing CD's which they think are overrated the just release the songs digitally and for those who want something physical they produce vinyls. so you can buy the vinyls (wether you can play them or not) and you get the digital music for free. i love that system.

i brought a usb record player for my laptop, i dont know what made me buy it, i just saw it on offer in a shop it was only 30 pounds so i brought it, then i went to a record store, and brought a load of lp's of bands i knew, i found my favorourite band on lp and brought it, i took it all home and i was amazed at hoe good it sounded, yer its not as clear as digital and its crackly but its barely noticible sometimes, i now have a huge collection of records, im only 20 xd

I was saving up for one of these portable types of record players for a while cause I have quite a few records that I play on the big system, but I thought it would be nice to have one in my room. But I stopped saving when a couple people told me that the sound quality is quite bad on these. Just wondering, does anyone have any differing opinions?

@cleaningagent101 Vinyl sound quality is better than CD. a CD is a 16 Bit 44.1 Khz representation of a track at a little above a megabyte a second. This means that there is lost sonic information from the original sound. Analog sound on a durable medium such as vinyl captures the original sound information, not a digitial representation. An Mp3/WMA/AAC is even worse, because they are lower bit raate than a CD. There are digiital forms better than CD as well. Send me a PM for more information

Just always brush dust off and clean them well. THe pops in the sound come more from dust than light scratches.
