  • Excellent video, thanks for the comparrison.

  • I like this a lot!

But due to the thinness of the product, is it hard to play while standing up?

    Thanks.

  • thanks a bunch for the vid! I was trying to find what the thinbody Kala sounded like and this answered my question.

  • I don't get it. If this is supposed to show the natural sound of the two ukuleles, why add all the distracting electronic canned music? I would like to hear it as natural as possible. beh.

  • @eschelar You don't get it, because you obviously didn't read the note at 1:51 min which says "... use the stereo balance to hear only the ukulele ...". The natural ukulele sound is on the left channel.

  • @ukuleledotde You are right. I didn't read the note at 1:51. However having told me about that, I stick by my original comment.

If the purpose of this video is to compare the sound of two ukes, why go to the trouble of adding all the distracting music so I then have to go to the trouble of faffing about with my speakers so I can hear it clean.

It's not meant to be a performance, just a comparison.

So is it me that missed the point? w'ever.

  • @eschelar "It's not menat to be ...". How can you know what it is meant to be? I thought I made the video?!

  • I played the thin ukulele while back and I really liked it also. Good video.

  • Thanks for the info Rigk, love the finger picking style you use on this vid. Danke

  • Nice demo of both instruments and a suprising result with the sound.

Can you tell me what the music piece you play is called please?

  • The song is called "Walking after midnight"

  • I thought thats what it was, I am pleased to tell you that your pieces are very clear and recocnisable!!

  • Thanks, Rigk! Very informative.

I'm trying to avoid the traditional, tinney ukulele sound.

Have you ever plugged your uke sticks into a guitar pitch shifter top hear what it might sound like an octave or two lover?

    Thanks, again,

  • Hi Douglas,

some time ago, I tested a guitar pitch shifter. I think it was an Octave Effect of the Korg Pandora PX4. It worked pretty good. But it sounds quite strange to hear the uke sound one octave lower. It is rather meant to play bass lines with a guitar.

    Regards

    Rigk
