nice track always preferred the chief tho. ps wouldnt say it was at the start of the scene im sure this was at its peak start of 1990 just when the original scene was dying - i suppose after 2 years it was all wearing off for a lot of us. remember it more from the pirates as i stopped raving at end of 1989 for a few years
i forgot to say he was a real red indian not just a bit of indian blood but the real full blooded thing i remember a video at the time - how cool is that - he must be the only American Indian pop star ever
@marknett that's weird as he even looked like a North American Indian in his video IIRC (but like you say over 2 decades is a long time as I was probably recovering from a rough one when I saw it on the Chart Show or something!). PS well Surinam is in SOUTH America but like you say that's not what I meant - I don't think they had South American Indians! as those with wigwams and Sitting Bull etc!
@ssxxpp i still play tony scott even thou my fucking poncey cunt mates in brighton dont get it, good fellas but how could you not love this old school house????
many raves many parties, many towns, many cities but this tune ALWAYS raised the roof. Vividly remember driving around many great places in the UK looking for illegal raves to start and this is one of those tunes that always seemed to crop up. A M A Z I N G Tune....
Tell me if I am wrong isn't Tony scott a dutchman? I heard that track for the first time from a dutch mate of mine dj freddy j. Great memories, I did my first mixing with the same vynil an other of the phat tracks we could hear in those days !!!
@zefanfan yes he is dutch, as far as i know he is a musicteacher in a highschool in Amsterdam. Once he did perform at a schoolparty in Zaandam back in 92 when i was still at school.
This was a great tune,I remember listening to this in the local gym,the manager was a dj,I remember mc silver bullet,20 seconds to comply, all sorts of tracks were played, takes me back this tony scott track.
Massive choooOOONNNNNN! Big up Tony S. Shouts to the Camden Palace Crew form Luton 90-92 dem WERE the DAYS, Proper, hardcore oldskool style, best years for tunes, no contest
they sampled quite a bit of the song from stevie V thats why the bassline was mainly samples from stevie V but i absolutely love this song, despite being 13 :) ohwell OLDSCHOOL for life!!!!!!!
awesome awesome awesome - this and the chief are probably my favourite tunes ever! and yes he was dutch originally from surinam (dutch guyana) - nere they play good shit like this in londoned places to go whe
At the time it seemed like Hip House was the way that things were headed. In retrospect it was just a short phase. Toni Scott and Twin Hype were two of the leading lights.
Cracking addition to Youtube - been waiting for this one! Shame about the record jumping a couple of times. Amazingly, the Internet is telling me that Tony Scott is actually a Dutch guy called Peter van der Bosch. Go to discogs and look him up if you don't believe me.
This is a classic, Set the foundations for house music in the UK. along with the oldskool hip hop legends such as eric B, Skooly D, if ya know.. .ya know...TUNE!!! wicked oldskool break. and nice mellow sample flowing tru!
Tokyo Joes, Magaluf 1989! Classic. Could play this over and over.

He's actually dutch, born in Surinam, but immigated to Holland in his youth ... So red and Indian all right, but not american ;-)
Minor detail though, 2 decades later the song still is f*ing awesome!
