  • im a feild hockey goalie its so fun!!

  • @NSuttonPictures yes, it is. most high schools can't afford turf, believe it or not.

  • i was thinking u were talking goalie in football

  • @sonicguy11223 well then you kinda fail, don't you

  • @kateharrow23 you mispelled equipment so. there's that.

  • @xoxocatixoxo gtfo. haha fixed it

  • i am the real freshman here i mean i had my first partice on a game and that was my first time ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i got injuired on my first game but i love pain!

  • Boriiinngg

  • Thanks Kate...very informative for starters...I was a goalie before when i first started to play this game. Are u still actively participating in tourneys

  • @kanggaruman i'm actually not, in the fall of 2008 i dislocated my shoulder and had to have surgery in the spring of 09 so sadly my field hockey carreer is over

  • good vid, but at one point I thought you where a robot. Nice vid

  • you're female and you play on grass, not very useful

  • Nice.. I like.. :) Do you play varsity or club..??

  • @kingramsu i played high school varsity but i don't play for college or anything since my major is super busy

  • Do you play varsity or club..??

  • thanks for the video, i am think about being a goalie but its my first year playing and its for my school. i dont want to let the team down by sticking at goalie. this really helped me decide that i would be good at goalie THANK YOU

  • @megantm98 you're more than welcome, glad I could help

  • you don't have to wear a troath protector!

  • @AnneVeenendaalAMW You do in our league!

  • @kateharrow23 oh ok!

  • @NSuttonPictures all of the teams here play on grass

  • wheres the arm protection?? nice vid by the way i am new to the position this video helped thanks

  • @liamizweird arm protection isn't at all necessary but some goalies like to use it. I personally don't because its hot and annoying

and you're welcome :) i'm glad it helped

  • The Neck protection is not a must have most goalkeepers do not waer one at the EHL (Euro Hockey League)

And do u play on grass?

    But Nice film Tho

  • @Avik00 in the USA, high school GK's have to wear neck protection

and yea we play on grass, most of the teams around us do too, very few can afford turf

  • Now I know why my dive were ending badly!

Thanks for uploading this - it really helps those who dont get trained

  • wrong.

  • Thanks I've found your video useful.5 star.

  • Thanks for the positive feedback, glad it helped!!

  • thanks this helped a goalie on a varsity team in highscoll and im on freshman

  • if it was so easy then there would never be any goals in hockey would there? trust me, its hard. this girl is just giving basic tips

  • agreed ! :)

  • it isn't, it is harder to move with a suit. you also have to save smaller, harder balls that go faster than a football. you also have to keep a good eye on your protection, so overall, hockey keeping is harder

  • not all that good... nice try, most of your techniques you showed were wrong! ive never seen a keeper try stop the ball befor clearing!? you should be able to make the clearence with one kick!

  • very true, you could just end up being tackled by a close attacker and before you know it...goal

  • What about the toque?

  • is that a lacross helmet?

I was under the impression that helmets with a peak such as yours aren't allowed, though i may be wrong

  • yea it is a lax helmet and that is a rule but it all depends on the individual league. For example, in Delaware, the outdoor high school league allows for such helmets while the indoor year-round league does not. It's a referee's call mainly, some mind, others don't

  • I hate to point it out but you forgot the box/cup/abdominal protector and I would recommend having a chest protector with arm protection. I've played hockey at high school and have had balls launched at my arms but without that protection the pain would be unbearable, they are more expensive but well worth it.

  • personally, I do not like wearing the arm guards. They are completely unnecessary and uncomfortable. If you sign up to play goalkeeper, you cannot expect to not have a bruise here or there. as far as the cup is concerned, it is included in 99% of goalie pants sold, so i didn't think it necessary to mention

  • Too bad for that 1%. Our equiptment is different and I guess we play different hockey around here (Australia) when I am faced with undercuts, penalty strokes, dragflicks and tomahawks I find that the extra protection provides the confidence to help me perform at my best I dont know much about american field hockey or for that matter womens hockey but that is just my personal preference.

Hockey is a great port all the same

  • yea that's probably it, I'm sure a guy can fling the ball alot faster than a girl can

  • oke just to help out. Your basic positioning is in a very old style. The new technique and basic positioning can be found if you loou for martijn drijver video's. Nice video though

  • it all depends on the level you're playing at and the area. For high school, it is usually required

  • i don't have neck protection and the thing that proctects the lower half of your body

  • =] <3

  • KATE HARROW, I LOVE YOU

    Goalie Love <3
