  • just one word,EPIC

  • @ownage4561 Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • @TRUExSIGHTS 0:57 I like how the camera is zooming out the sound changes to as if the speech switched to space comms. Your idea or naturally like that? Been revisiting here since 2008 haha. Well put together.

  • @Jarheadftw You mean when Cain is doing her speech for the first minute? If so, that was nothing to do with me, was all from the origional series. I agree, the effect of it is very good.

  • This has always been one of my favorite videos.

  • Lux Aeterna really goddamn ruined this video. Awful sound issues, cliched song, etc.

  • @Strand0410 Look at the date of uploading please. Nearly 3 years ago now. Add into the fact that I was using Windows Movie Maker (and Windows files then) the quality was reduced significantly. Then also add into the fact there was a glitch in the upload (there were other videos with exactly the same issue, I don't know why and never will) and I no longer have the origional file to re-upload or edit, so can not change this. And remember, I said in my video description, this WAS my second video.

  • My life for Auir.

  • Admiral Cain remidns me of Commander Shepard(female) from Mass Effect.

  • SONG?!?!

  • @perojecareeeee It said at the end of the video. The song is Lux Aeterna which is also known as "Requiem for a dream"

  • A few too many viper launch scenes, but I enjoyed it.

  • Thumb up if u want to pilot a spaceship after this.

  • @Mentidero I always want to pilot a spaceship :P

  • Dradis contact! Hell awaits...full throtle!!!

  • War!! Perfect

  • This is just so awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • Beautiful video...but you just made me realize that this series is yet another with the idea that fiery explosions would work in space. *sighs* Think a show will ever figure out that a realistic slow burn or fireless explosion can still look dramatic?

  • No more of this music...NO MORE

  • Admiral Helena Cain is the best!

  • @Firephoenix330 So Say We All!

  • Personally speaking, the humanity and charity in my country has been won through blood, sweat and tears. If anyone tried to take that away again then our imperative would be WAR.

  • great video

  • This is very good! Great job!

  • This is very good, nice work :D

  • Isnt this song very very VERY close to Requim of a Dream? Like it seems they just add some singing.

  • It is Requiem for a dream. The actual song name is Lux Aeterna, but was used in the Requiem for a dream movie. You may be thinking of the Requiem for a tower version which was used in the lord of the rings trailer (for the second film)

  • @TRUExSIGHTS You´re right, i had the Tower-Version in my mind because its the first i ever heard, thx for the info :-)

  • Just think, this could really happen in the future which makes me cry for the souls lost in the fight. :'(

  • Don't forget, if this is the future we've already been nuked to oblivion :P

  • @TRUExSIGHTS: IIRC they arrive on earth 150k years in the past...

  • @Helge129 but the whole thing is hinted at being a cycle, so there is no past or present as such, until they broke the chain. It went from Kobol to the 12 colonies to earth and back to kobol, a cycle of evolution and destruction

  • @TRUExSIGHTS but at the end the Baltar "angel" asks does it have to happen again and six says she doesn't think so.

We should not fear our machines but we should keep them on a tight leash.

  • @Jcorp67 but the actually answer isn't definate. She says she doesn't "think so" but they then do a multiple of shots showing Artificial Intelligence with the hint that it may happen again because of the technology we are developing.

Its a series with mixed meanings/messages but quite a few do actually apply to real life and are worth remembering. Once a machine has Intelligence, we won't be able to control it, not matter what we try, unless it relies on a plug...

  • @TRUExSIGHTS once a machine has intelligence and becomes self aware it will most likely try to destroy us because in less then a second it will realize our reaction when we find out that the machine is sentient.

Machines make our lives easier but we should always have ways of maintaing control and we should always assume that a sentient machine will learn ways around our controls. In other words have a back up for all our back ups.

  • @Jcorp67 which is why i say we destroy the DROIDX phone Immediatly.

  • @Helge129 the original earth was inhabited by human cylons and was destroyed. They found "our Earth" 150,000 years ago.

  • This is the president... babylon 5 she stole that line, not that I'd take anything from that psychotic bich. Let us all surrender our humanity for victory!

  • @efetherman

No one has ever said anything like that before Babylon 5.

  • Besides, the voice over i used is from Admiral Cain, and it goes "This is your admiral" and that is not unique to Babylon 5. If anything, it was stolen from the Navy.

  • I saw scar too!

couldnt think of the girls name, I'll ck the wall.

  • SCAR!!!

  • For example, try "Leave No Man Behind" from the Black Hawk Down soundtrack. It fits right in between the title cards.

  • Hey, i understand you point about Lux Aeterna, (same to yanxaw aswell) but at the time of making this video i was new to youtube and hadnt seen many vids so didnt know about it. However, there really are no other pieces out there that make the kind of feel and atmosphere that Lux Aeterna does (Look at my "eternal war - fallen heroes" video to see what i mean) And i'd also like to say, that you should see my other videos to see the range of music i have used.

  • A great video, but the Requiem for a Dream is a bit overused.

  • Vocês poderiam disponibilizar versões dubladas em portugues, Brasil.

  • Very good! Normally I would not like the video because the over-used Lux Aeterna, but you picked great scenes unlike some of the other repetitive vids on Youtube.

  • Cheers mate. This isn't my best video, but it was one with my best ideas behind it really, or best emotions so to speak (after my first video Viper Tribute). I only found how used this song was after i finished it, so never knew about it till then lol. And if you think this was good, check out my "Eternal War - Fallen Heroes" video which i think is one of my best videos ever (though i may re-upload at some point due to a glitch in it) but the editing is just way better.

  • not really a criticism, but can you do one without lux aeterna? it's been soooo overused. there's a lot more music out there.

  • Agreed if I see one more youtube vid with this song that only reminds me of requiem of a dream.... I will comment...

  • Thanks for the comments everyone, and thanks for watching =D I just wanted to say, i've currently got two BSG videos under work. One is just being thought out at the moment, but should be my best every (meaning i will probably take 1 month + making it :P) and the other is around half way through the editing stage. I'm hoping to get that finished in the next week or two, depending on the time i get free.

And just again, Thanks for watching =DDDD

  • Great video! Kinda wish the original sound was there, but the amazing visuals make up for it!

  • I'm assuming you mean the origional sound effects (like the main guns firing and explosions going off). Well, there are some in there, which i have left in, but the majority just wouldn't have got a place over the music at the points i wanted, or the music from the clips drowned out the music of the song i used in the video. Like the pegasus firing those forward guns right after the speech, that has louder music there than the song i used at that point. Anyway, thanks for watching =D

  • Kick Ass Job

  • so cool.

  • What episode was that last sequence shown in? Where Apollo was flying into a battlestar's fire zone. Holy crap what was he thinking?

  • I think the episode your talking about is "scattered" - thats where he does fly into the firing solution yeah. Agreed, it was crazy, but atleast he got the cylon heavy raider :P even though it crash landed about galactica and 4 centurions caused havoc

Thanks for watching my vid =D

  • Damn fine video

  • before I get the miniseries and season 1 on DVD, can someone tell me if this has a good storyline to compliment these awesome battles?

  • I can honestly say, the storyline is as good, if not better, than the battles. This show does not revolve around the battles, rather, they are a supplement to it. As the story progresses, so do the characters, and the storyline.

It is easily one of the best TV shows. And you are doing the right thing, which is to get the miniseries first, as that brings you into the whole galactica story, and you should understand the basics atleast from the beginning.

I would definately tell you to get it.

  • fair enough. i just wanted the opinion of someone who'd seen the lot before i take the hit to my finances. i think, based on your comment, i will get it. cheers

  • yes and no some have good storylines others are kind of crappy but most of them were good

  • Then again, you get that in almost all series, as the brilliant ideas are used up, or reserved for later, so they run dry on amazing plots. Even though they might be crappy, if you do watch closely enough they do in a way develop the plot further, just a small bit though. Overall i'd say all the good episodes (around 85% +) cancel out all the kind of crappy episodes which makes this series great =] And thanks for watching =D

  • It pains me to the heart to see the Pegasus go down. Dumb ass Adamas. Too much emotion in that damn show.

  • too much religion too but man are the battles epic lol.

  • Word.

  • No, there's the right amount of religion for the situation.

  • no the religion is the perfect trigger for some of the characters and conflicts. it supplements the story nicely.

  • Yeah agreed, Without the religious aspect then some of the storyline would be gone, and it can even be said that one of the main reasons that the cylons hate the humans is because they worship many gods, not just one. It also adds a sense of reality, as humanity always has to have the feeling of there being something supernatural and bigger than itself, which usually comes out in the form of some sort of religion.

Thanks for watching my video guys =]

  • this music has been used too much, but still good job

  • yeah, i only found out how many videos had this music on after i made it. But i used the music because i think it represents BSG's atmosphere. It has a dark and kind of mournful theme, and then it has the action sections.

I really used this because it was a more harsh audio clip, and i wanted to show on this video the death and destruction that the cylons have caused on the colonies and to the fleet and all her crew.

I'm looking for less used music now, so keep an eye out for my next vid.

  • Intense, nice work.

  • wow i must say amazing especially the use of cains speech!

  • I'm freaking scared...Good job anyway. ROFL. 3/5
