As cool as it would be for them to finally get together, the brains behind the show put a stop to that long ago. Back in season 2 or 3 Derek said that he would NEVER date a person he worked with and then they added Kevin for Garcia so there may never be a Marcia relationship beyond the one we already know.

He tried to move on in S.4 (with Jordan, who btw WORKED with him) and 5 (with Tamara). It didn't work. So he´s alone, but it's clear that he's not that season-two guy anymore. He isn't fooling around, in or out of work. He seems to be waiting for something. I think the scene above makes clear what it is. Or who. ;)

@Ki33y but I think there's more to it than friendship, and I don't think sexy-kinda-love exclude the soulmate love. I think it's part of it, if it's there. There are a lot of couples I watch on TV that I don't see a sexual potential. And no, love is not always about sex. But I think that's the case here. It's a full love ride between these two. Which is why I favor they take the only step that's left in their relationship.
