Tried this but when I am doing the step at 5:00. moving the file to the iphone folder I get a error. as it says below -

Unhandled exeception has occurred in your application.....

And I can not run the global map download tool. When I click on the GMDL\bin\Debug\Global Map Download Tool.exe, it returns an error: "The application failed to intialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application. " Do you know why? I am running XP. All I did was download the zipped file that you gave the link to, extracted it and when to open it as you did and got the error.

Any help is appreciated.

@kkdashjava thank you very much for instructions. Is it possible to have the GPS functionality working while using one of these maps. (im an american going to be traveling a bit in europe and southeast asia. I'd like to have the maps already downloaded to the phone, and use the GPS to give me an idea of where i am on the map

@tommyfullofit yeupp.. GPS works using satellites which is built into the iPhone. If you notice, your blue dot on your google maps app actually moves without an internet connection, but there is no map in the background. Downloading the map allows you to actually see where u are.
