What a great tutorial! Just got Logic 9 and tried fixing up an acoustic guitar in a busy mix as my first trial of Flax, but I just got my knickers in a twist - I guess I should have watched this first as I didn't get the trigger 'threshold' adjustment (+/-) or the region quantise procedure. Wow - what an easy process it looked like in your lesson!
Great video. I searched for exactly what I needed and it happened to be the title of this video and exactly what I wanted thank you for the time u spent for everyone else!
shit man, you just explained this technique perfectly... Thank you! Now im going to feel like shit for making my recorded drums sound better than i can actually play them. Damn it!!!
Dude I can't find the Green Q button (I do have Logic Pro 9). I tried under "Configure Track Header" but I just can't simply find the button. Would you be so kind to tell me where to find it please? Thx! :) by the way, nice video!
can't see the comment where someone couldn't find something in logic. flex works great.. for older projects however, sometimes it doesn't work right. the checkboxes for "group active" & "phase locked audio" ALL have to be able to be checked at the same time (without errors) for this method to work 'exactly' as shown in this video.. on older projects, its not as smooth. doesn't want to work. you can force it though without re-recording actually.
iamlamontage - Quantize, or Flex audio is only available in Logic 9. If you are running Logic 9, you may be looking at the wrong dropdown field in the inspector. Else, I can't explain why you're not seeing it. Good luck!
@iamlamontage Maybe this could help..Try reloading the program in your computer again with all the program disks, And then see if the inspector boots up properly.. If that does'nt work, you might have to check and see if the disks are corrupt, at an apple store..
Very helpful and clearly explained, thanks very much!!

Is it normal that when I first turn on slicing, the entire drum track moves out of sync with the metronome, before I've done anything else?

@bolali The Q Button only appears if a set of tracks are in a group and that group must be set as 'Phase Locked Audio.' Hope this helps!
