DONT buy the "classic" you dink - it's the original style non-alkaline 4x carbon-manganese cells like batteries were made in the 60's before alkaline cells came out. The "classic" with the cat and lightning bolt is made for uses like lanterns where alkaline is for long drain but small current uses like radios. There are 32 cells in some others but not in the classic. EverReady is happy you bought one of their batteries to experiment though LOL
