i always have trouble reading long documents for extended periods on time on lcds, tfts... i think it is pretty much due to the backlight rather than the dpi of symbols. i say this because i have a cybook gen3 and i dont get the eye strain (has no backlight, higher dpi, not as much as print though). my reasoning is mine and could be wrong ;).. do you have eystrain doing this?

Is there any way to get rid of that gray background around the book? Otherwise that's a pretty nice program.

Machine Age Reader is an old program. I don't think it allow for one page viewing. I think it only reads text files. But the color combinations are easy on the eyes and you can fully customize it.
