  • @GtrDudeL probably because of the shit gibson nut :P

  • Dude, that is some sick rock noise, I think that's my next head unit if I'm not careful haha

  • The other guy actually plays at the end of the video :O

  • jack daniels on the AFD amp :D

  • You guys should demo the Marshall VM.

  • 12:17 that's a realy nice riff :)

  • Fucking increible sounding amp! I dig the bottle of Jack on top of the head. LOL Nice chops as well

  • This thing sounds like it has no soul. No body. Just a twangy, Tinty piece of shit. And your guitar is out of tune.

  • @djpuppy28 Your fucking mind is out of tune, mate!

  • @djpuppy28 Kindly go away. Do you ever hear people say "Who's Jeff!?" to you? You're probably deaf.

  • i have been playing since i was 6 i did studio work in my 20s in NY and in Nashville and i like too think i KNOW my changes and play well AND IMPROV/READ ECT...and i cannot for the life of me see or HEAR what the fuss is with this fuckin guy(Slash)a great player he is NOT and this OBSESSION with the whole AFD nonsense...everywhere i go EVERY FUCKIN kid is playing this mindless riff...maybe its me...sorry folks.

  • @TheXXXDB you're right, it really isn't anything truly special. it just happened to get lucky and reach a bunch of people. some things stick in people's heads, other things don't. it just happens that way. doesn't have to really be an extraordinary piece of music. it's just a lottery.

  • @TheMetalHeaD256 i agree brother it is a lottery.

  • @TheXXXDB It's DEFINITELY you, I THINK. I'm NOT sure, ACTUALLY no, it's your OPINION. Oh WELL.

  • @IsaacDeanMusic kiss my ass...clown

  • @TheXXXDB YOU have to SHOWER first, otherwise I'M not going ANYWHERE near your sweet, sweet BUM hole.

  • @IsaacDeanMusic I've suffered from tinnitus since childhood. :)

  • @IsaacDeanMusic I have had an operation on both wrists and three fingers. GOOD AS NEW. Ready for another 20 plus years!

  • mine didn't sound anything like this thin trebley limp took it back

  • @dannywild100 Almost definitely your fault.

  • Les Paul + Marshall + JACK DANIELS

Too much awesomeness at one time.

  • @roockieguitargod you forgot the playboy magazine.

  • I actually bought this amp through my local music store in Western Colorado. The amp sounds great I think. We even ran it at a full 100 watts right there in the store to see what it was capable of, and it is quite loud I must say!

  • Mr.Brownstone riff sounds so nice and Jack Daniels on top awesome! Expensive though. Awesome amp anyway.

  • Haha Chappers does the twitchy Jaw! My brother does that when he's really concentrating on his playing. Apparently I pout :/

  • Slash has a signature line of noodles coming out soon

  • Rob, what cabinet do you use with afd??

  • @niico666niico666 the captain mentioned it a few times.

  • @IsaacDeanMusic Great but I'm not speaking english!!

Instead of writing this, can you tell me so??

    Thxxxxx!!

  • Hey @RobChappers dude what were the settings on the amp

  • That bottle of jack is for free when i buy this head ? :D

  • that guy failed at paradise city so bad

  • @awsomecentral123 I agree. I was like "WTF."

  • @JamesisaHokie terrible lol nice guitars tho

  • Seriously, people have you heard of Google? Research copyright! Amazing Amp!

  • he plays sweet child wrong slash uses his little finger so he sort of uses a barre chord shape its easier that way and should be played a step lower than in this video i normally play it at the 11th fret not 12th like he is here still sounds great though and i am just being a bit of a perfectionist sorry lol

  • @shredmaster100 funny you only mentioned that cause he played almost everything wrong

  • i think its something to do with copyright hes not allowed to play the songs exactly the same or hes just a crap guitarist lol

  • @MLplayer78 dude he ait teaching you how to play it he is just reviewing the amp hes just showing you what it sounds like .. and even Slash doesent play everything rite got that

  • @shredmaster100 do you know something called punctuation? AND slash doesn't use his little finger playing the sweet child riff.

  • sorry about my bad spelling thats the result of going to school during john majors government lol and doesnt matter anyway cause slash kicks this guys ass

  • I see we're subliminally advertising jack Daniels now, are we?

  • Just £3,299 only!..ok I'll take 0...give me Ceriatone all the way!

  • I think you guys are trying out the wrong amp. You guys need to play the one on the left side!

  • @pilotoatomico haha, funny -_- I forgot to laugh

  • pls tune the guitar next time thaank you!

  • wow with the 59 reissue it sounds perfect, identical to the record

  • @indgiu it's 58 ;)

  • and make a review of it?? Please :)

  • can you guys get the slayer kerry king marshall head?

  • What is that guitar Chappers uses to play Sweet child o mine?

    and how much is it?

  • 5:26 did he just say "orgasm"?

  • that is way more gain than what is used on the AFD album Listen to the guitar master tracks, it's mild gain at best.

  • Does the AFD 100 hav a footswitch? isnt it one channel?

  • @Rock4Ever80s the footswitch switches between the afd and jcm800 sounds

  • @Jpalmieri4 ya i discovered it further in the video but thnx anyway ;)

  • Thats some fierce rock tone, alright! Sounds great!

  • "Just £3,299.00 at Andertons"

    I'll take three of them!

  • I love how these British dudes play guitar-

  • @DaBigSmokeDawg its enough to own a signature gibson to me, but you want the whole deal, slash signature gibson, slaash signature marshall head, slash signature dunlop crybaby

  • MAN!! I want that amp, like, NOW!!!!!

  • Why can you guys play actual Slash riffs and someone like Paul Riario from Guitar World who demoes the Marshall JCM 800 Kerry King can't play Slayer riffs, due to copyright issues??

  • @astro2069 maybe but if not u can always boost it with a tubescreamer then u can get way past metallica

  • Do you think this head is capable of getting heavy ala Metallica? Sad thing is, I'd have to use a 112 at home for now

  • does this amp sound good with celestian greenbacks? I just ordered one and I have a 425a cabinet.

  • lol xD

    i m in leve with a amp (afd100), i been talking about

    I m in love with a amp (afd100) i cant live without

    xD

  • SPEAKERS????

  • Can you bedroom gig that?

  • Awesome video. I love the AFD100!!

  • I'm getting one before christmas. It's gonna sound awesome with my vintage modern cabinet.

  • les paul + marshall with nothing in between just = sonic... orgasm

  • Chris Derrig made the replica that Slash used on AFD

  • @peteq1972 actually he played a replica of a Les Paul. It was not made by Gibson or Epi. This Gibson he is playing in the video is a Gibson replica of a non Gibson Replica...kinda funny

  • FUCK!

  • Great video guys, I was wondering can you still remove 2 valves from the power amp and run it at half power or does it mess up the power control and biasing dohickys?

  • what is that pedal on top of the afd 100?????

  • @Budafinga reverb pedal...

  • @Budafinga i think its a boss pedal made to model a fender 57 bassman

  • I wonder why Marshall never issued an EVH signature amp with the unique features that

Ed had on his. I would think everyone would buy it.

  • @DrPhilist sorry but you are wrong. Slash did not play a Gibson or a Les Paul during the recording for AFD..wow, you guys need to do,your homework, I am not going to hand you the answer.

  • @HayesProject79 I think i read in his book he had an Epiphone les paul for all the recording of AFD, he bought a gibson when he made tons of cash??? :)

  • Hey Guys, hate to break up the love fest but Slash did not play a Gibson Les Paul during AFD

  • @HayesProject79 wtf of course he played a les paul!!! where the hell have you found this mis-information bro?

  • @DrPhilist i think what he's trying to tell you is that the famous AFD guitar was actually a replica.it was built by Kris Derrig

  • @HayesProject79 100% correct

  • They never even opened the bottle of Jack...they're not rockstars...

  • Darn it, you teased me so much with those pickups in that Slash epiphone on loan and that STOCK gibson... Next time, why not try Slash's pickups too? God, it's like you completely ignored the Seymour Duncan APH-1 Alnico II Pickups and just cared that you had a Gibson Les Paul, I'm still left by saying cool guitar but so freaking what? The pickups are important to the tone like the amp, yet, you didn't care to mention that. You're all like 'I gotta Gibson, looks like Slash's' - I mean, wtf

  • @treborillusion dude, slash used stock gibsons way longer than his signature duncans, so better stfu! just cause he has signature stuff now doesnt mean that he always had it!

  • Comment removed

  • @givemeajackson What kind of retard over looks something so vital to electric guitar tone as the freaking pickup is beyound me.

  • @treborillusion what kind of retard thinks that most slash sounds were made with his signature duncans?

  • @givemeajackson Who said anything about his Signature pickups? Those came out in 2010 and were based on the pickups in this guitar he used on AFD... I'm saying Slash used Seymour Duncan APH1 for bridge and neck with GN'R, signature model or not, it matters not... It's like they got the right am, and the right guitar, and even the right pickups (in the Slash epiphone) but decided to for what ever reason (maybe to piss me off) not to say anything about the pickups and just cared about the guitar

  • @givemeajackson you better not use that Les Paul he used in the November Rain video as evidence, because if you do, I may have to kick your ass... A; That's a Music Video, and B; That was Joe Perry's guitar.

  • @treborillusion 1 i have never planned to do that 2 slash has got his duncans like 2 years ago. before he used standard gibsons 3 i'm no gnr fan.

  • @givemeajackson Well that's okay, I hapen to be a GN' R fan, 1. Slash used a Les Paul when recording AFD, that guitar had a set of Seymour Duncan APH1s, 2. He used regular Seymour Duncan APH1s and 3. In 2010 I think, Slash got his own signature APH1s, which the only difference is, the Slash set is a reissue of the year of the APH1s that were on that Les Paul he recorded AFD. - I really would have LOVED them to run a set of Seymour Duncans APH1s through that amp.

  • You got a gibson, that's nice... BUT so what?

You've got Alnico II Pro Humbuckers on that epiphone but you didn't plug it in to the Slash amp... Yeah Slash used a Gibson Les Paul, but so what? I use a Gibson Les Paul too, the difference between my Gibson Les Paul and your Gibson Les Paul is the freaking Seymour Duncan pickups...Sure you enjoyed playing on the Gibson, who wouldn't, but it's so annoying seeing you over look something so simple yet so vital as the freaking pikcups.

  • Dear Chappers..

Brilliant demos, great humor..you might want to get ricky gervais in with you one day..however..one question...are the transformers on the amp the same quality as a good old british marshall or will they need changing to mercury magnetics..you know ..many cheapo type trannies these days....what do yo recommend?

  • @RobChappers What was the setting on the amp ??

  • Actually it was a Marshall 1959 Super Lead but carry on.

  • @TheMDR7506 It was a 1959 super lead tremolo...

  • @98GuitarTECH slash said it was a jcm800 2203

  • @bradas128 was so heavily modified it was basically a jcm800 shell, a jcm800 board, but modded to HELL lol, watch the slash and marshall building the afd100 video :)

  • @TheMDR7506 Like you were his recording engineer. There's a lot of speculationgoing on from years, nobody's gonna know with 100% certainty which amp Slash used on that album.

  • @arcuz92 read his autobiography he talks extensively about it

  • @dimebagalways He doesn't remember shit about what he used, in some interviews he even says he used a JCM. It's hard to tell what amp you used while you were constantly on heroine or heavily drunk. Plus he's not a gearhead, he doesn't really care that much as long as Marshall pays him. And I read the book, but still it's no proof as long as his memory is completely fucked up.

  • @arcuz92 It was also modded... For some reason nobody thought to take a look inside before it got confiscated because they were fucking idiots. :)

  • @arcuz92 i agree completly

  • can someone tell me the scale and finger pattern at 5:48?????????

  • Reason being you havent herd alot of 6550 amps is because they werent common in england they were for the american marshalls. England had the el34

  • 6:30 boobs

  • how about you demo that Rosewood strat back there

  • 6:05 JACK DAGNIELS!

  • This guy has some tasty licks

  • @ Rob Chappers Dude i've got this amp but i'm confused that which one is the AFD ?

  • Half way is FUCKING loud ! this amp is as loud as the 1959RR !!

  • On the wah-wah pedals , When you said "they suck the tone up" do they do that when you not even using them , so its plugged in and everything but your now "Wah-wahing "it ?? And JCM 800/900 "Marshall" Do you have to crank them for disttortion ? cos ive got a Blackstar HT5R amp , Amazing thing but ive got a couple of big giggs coming up so i reallydont know if i should get a Head (i.e Marshall jcm 800" pleasee heelp Cheers :D

  • @JamesBentleyTV buy the kerry king signature jcm 800, its more versatile, has more gain, a noise gate, looks cooler and is the same price as the regular jcm800. i saw that you live in the uk, so check out engl amps, they're pretty cheap in europe. the screamer or thunder head are fine, if you want 100 watts, check out the ritchie blackmore sig.

  • The guy playing is quite possibly one of the worst guitarists i've seen in a while...

Maybe take some lessons before showing off your 'skills'.

  • @Dannyman123 Are you for real?

  • @oRusty00 Yes... he might be good at fast riffs, but he makes every note sound random somehow...

  • Bought it from andertons. No shirt...

  • Is this based on a 1959 plexi or a JCM?

  • 0:10 epic

  • Hey Chappers could I play any Whitesnake on this amp ?

  • I have one question... but is of topic... (nearly)... I bought marshall JCM 800. i thought i can find in it that "slash" sound... but that head disappoint me... Does anyone know whit f**k what slash boost that amp? someone says whit boos od-3 someone whit boss ds-1... Zakk W. boost it whit od-3 if i know... i dont say JCM 800 is bad amp its awesome... but i trying find the cheapest way to boost that amp in that slash way... i spend all my money only on that amp and speakers... please help

  • @savior1307 Hey ! Slash's JCM800 is moded just like all the other dudes like ZakkWylde and many others . I hope that helped .

  • @savior1307 Slash doesn't use a stock jcm. His #34 jcm is modded and the original afd amp was possibly a 1959 super tremolo with the tremolo stage turned into another gain stage. He has also used his old sl555 sig amp and a vintage modern. Cant remember off the top of my head what he boosted with. Something from custom audio. A line driver possibly. Hope that helped in some vague way

  • @savior1307 make it loooooooooouuuuuuuuud!

  • That Les Paul is one of the sexiest I've ever seen.

  • Any ideas about EQ settings throughout?

  • you should demo a tuner

  • what did you mean by "change over to the afd" at 4:10? because I liked the sound before more. What amp was that?

  • @muzapstar Dude the AFD100 Marshall 100 Watt head has two modes . 1. is called the AFD (Appetite For Destruction ) sound and tone . 2. is called the #34 for Slash Moded JCM800 sound the amp that Slither and his more current stuff . But for his newest Record he did with this amp but of course some stuff that is on his isn't on this . Cheers mate !!

  • @muzapstar I think the JCM 800 but I'm not sure !

  • Dude Rob !! do you live in Guildford ?

  • Gibson had chambered LP's in 58? I did not know that

  • Hey Rob dude it was actually the 15th fret on the E string !! watched the same vid like 40 times !!

  • Is a hundred watts loud ??

  • @RocketQueenBand201

    yes, its loud as fuck

  • @piemeljan Do you have to put on like 15 earplugs to make it softer ??

  • @RocketQueenBand201

a 100 watt halfstack is not made for playing in your bedroom ;)

but it has an attunuator to power it down, so i gues you won't need your earplugs...

  • Chappers are you a v-man or an explorer man?

  • oh my god, i shited myself

  • that's SWEET guys !

  • I played that SAME guitar when i was there ITS AMAZING

  • Uploaded the day after my birthday !

  • UPLOADED on my B-DaY YES !!!! Hehe ;)

  • Comment removed

  • Sounds so cool! would it sound even better (more Slash) with the Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-2 Slash Pickups? Iii|; )'

  • 5.19 pure sex!!!! :)

  • 11 people dont like slash
