At the part of the movie were they are done with bastone and assault the town of foy. I-company had to be warned for artillery on the other side of town. Respect for Lt. speirs he runned through the germans defences and all across town to warn them. and HE CAME BACK. that requires some braveness and gut. Band of brothers <3
Where is Captain Sobal? Did he survive? It was his training of these men that helped them to survive. I think his contribution to their being here can be attributed to the training they received under Sobal in jump school.
the sad thing is that I bet most people have no idea what these guys did and what challenges they faced and stood up to in a time of war.. We take it for granted and may even get pissed that these old people are driving to slow but although they may be old, they're fucking heroes that took action when our country needed them.. Much respect to all of these guys.. true fucking heroes..
The sad thing is that these vets will be gone in 10-20 years and WW2 will have no live people on the front line to tell the story but I guess that's history.. We all have a limited time on this earth and it will be sad when the day comes that the last WW2 vet passes away but I guess that's history.. In the era I've grown up in (born 1983)some of us have grand parents that are vets but they're aging and time will take its course. I hate to think that way with such heroes !
@thejbwade I must admit...it's mostly true. I am a teen now, but I would say I really do appreciate all they did. Watching Band of Brothers didn't glorify war for me. It made me really appreciate all the bravery and sacrifices these men made for this country. It's truly heroic and worth commending...It is sad many kids in my generation don't appreciate what these men did. Of course, not all of them are like that, but I wish there was a way for kids these days to appreciate history more...
@Kolashov Not all teenagers, some teenagers respect the idea of a brotherhood. I'm an example, i find all the ones that laugh at this very idiotic barbaric people.
i have spent time with veterans, both that served in normandy and those who fought in the skys. one man took a bullet through his hand, i shook that hand. a man who flew a mustang, killed over 30 german pilots.one of them was a german ace, he said the man jumped from the cockpit and still lives to this day. years later they actually meet, and when he told me it, you couldnt have a bigger smile on ur face. i shook his hand too. something tells me that if you ever meet a true hero you, shake hands
If i Could i really like to spend Time with those guys, Evrybody needs to respect them. If they werent there we possibly wouldnt be here today. And the whole world was possibly German.
All Veterans Of WO II You Are My Heroes. And Band Of Brtohers Was The Most Interesting 10 Hours Off My Life, Love You Guys. YOU ARE TRUE SOLDIERS !!!
definately, there courage is something we lack nowadays, and people actually look down to people trying to serve our country. it just sickens me. They are true heroes.
I spend a lot of time with old Waffen SS veterans from Scandinavia. Can you beleive? Thougest bastards ever lived, what ever the war history tells you.
The mens of the easy company are just awesome and they were leaded by a great chief, the capitain Winters. These guys are heroes, as much as all the other soldiers who fought against the German, Italian and Japaneses troops during WW2. Thanks for sharing this great video !!
Unfortunately my English is not good enough to understand it all...
It's nice seeing Don Malarkey and Scott Grimes together :)
I wish the interviews were a bit longer in the Band of Brothers DVD set ; those memories are worth so much! (especially to me, because these men helped saving my country)
Thanks so much for finding this and putting it up. I've seen the pictures from the 02 reunion but this video is just awesome. Hashey, Shifty, Perconte, Wild Bill & Babe, Michael Sobel making peace with everybody, the bodacious Susan Smith Finn, Matt Settle and his broken leg, Richard Speight Jr, Grimes and Malarkey together ... just awesome.
I noticed Wild Bill, Babe and Shifty.. I assume the guy waith the cast portrayed the GREAT Lt. Speirs. But which one was Sobels son? I just finished Bill's and babes book. Bill mentioned that for the longest, Sobels daughter was livid and was ready to kill someone but she ended up going to a reunion and she found some closure. She happened to pass away soon after.
RIP Major Richard Winters
