Thank you for the review, I have an N80.... How is the Battery life on the new version. It looks like I would still choose the N80. The Screen is better and so is the camera. There is not much difference really, it just has more memory on the newer version and a bigger screen but lets not forget the N80 ha s a BETTER screen. If you get a 2GB MiniSD disk... That is more than enough for your music. If you don't mind charging your phone every 2 days... go for the N80, I say.

but N81......not really felt like a toy when I went to the shops and it rattles!

dk: I'm w/ you. I'm not fickle owner & Nokia bests itself before fully releasing a model. There will always be a better model coming from Nokia. They don't fully realize the sales potential of any model they make. I just ditched my 6600 for an N80ie. When you spend this much for a phone & it's this good, you don't switch for every new tweak. ;-)

i think n81 is shit because you cant play call of duty with that phone its realy unhandy in that way ngage 1 was way better for the contrlls you can pay mario with n81 yea easy control but for many games also emulator because thats why people buy SYMBIAN PHONES well i aleast do it is verry verry shit!

I have the old Nokia N80 and love it to bits, when i saw that Nokia were releasing the N81 i was excited as it was aimed more to wards gaming, the 2mp camera isn't a big deal for me as id rather use a dedicated camera but taking video clips are going to be choppy as it's down from 30fps (N80) to 15fps :(

But the big put off was the smaller 240x320 screen, i love my sharp 352x416 screen and feel gutted their not carrying it on.

cokker: Heavy-duty gaming belongs on teen phones, mass-marketed flip phones, not a smartphone, anyhow. ;-) Extra games certainly aren't worth a smaller screen, fewer fps & 1 less megapixel. N81 must be geared to America where we'll pay higher monthly fees for PDAs. US mobile carriers don't advertise or offer smartphones on their sites for this reason. It's either gaming phones or PDAs so they can charge more.

have never seen any problems with the screen of N80, it is as fine as resolution of N90, but to carry that high resolution those smartphones needed faster processer.

Good thinking Nokia about people who buy mobiles for gaming the two buttons at the top is a very good intervension an will please loads a buyers of the N81,i just wished Nokia would have put a 3.15 mega-pixel on the N81 instead of just the 2 mega one

Yeah, the camera has been really downgraded. No autofocus/macro is the big hit. 2mp with autofocus isn't horrible. 2mp with no autofocus is pretty bad.

Will have to wait for reviews to make my decision.
