Surfing also doesn't give you the same cardio workout (core strength, butt and back strength benefit a lot) but if you live on the coast, cycling should be reserved for windless days! I run, but only because I have no where for a bike :(

than if you are doing it mainly for fitness you have to be vigilant to all the obstacles and idiots

around you but if you pick your track the chances of injury are rare.

Windsurfing is great for fitness if you are doing it more than 3 days a week same as cycling.
