I have a BAd Boy MZ 48 mower, and man! I am REALLY IMPRESSED! That mower is the "Joe Homeowner" model, but it beats Toro, Bunton, Lesco, Great Dane, Bob Cat, Exmark, Scag etc for comparable models hands down! MUCH faster, better build quality, and MUCH better cut quality! I'll never own anything else but a Bad Boy! My next one is the Bad Boy Lightning Z 60"! MADE IN AMERICA PEOPLE!!!!
@mxz440skidoo they are good mowers. But not the best. there prices are okay, and engine chooses are fair. They big problem is they are a little sloppy in both steering(hydro), and cutting. They leave alot standing at over half spead or over 70 percent of deck usage. In there same price range i would recommed a snapper pro which is the same as ferris mowers(look it up if you dont believe) but with cheaper prices and no front suspension. snapper pro is same price tag as bad boy. hustler ok2
i got a demo on this mower and although the engine is rock solid at idle it shakes to death but its pretty smooth powered up, i use Hustler i have a super z 66 and a z 60 and i thought i was gonna break the bad boy, you can't mow with just a nice engine! i have had hustler since 1989 and my 89 251k still runs mows and gets used as a backup if needed. Hustler and scag own this market period.
dude i got a lesco mower and its invinsible i mean it made for yards we use it for cow fields and it hasn't broke and we've had it for a year and a half and those bad boy mowers are about three to five grand more.
Ferris makes 2 machines with CAT Diesels. The 28hp IS4500Z 61" Mower and the giant 33.5hp IS5100Z 72" Mower. The really nice feature of Ferris is the All Wheel Suspension and Floating Mower. I'd rather have a Ferris IS5100Z. We acutally looking to replace our current Zero Turns with a Ferris IS5100Z and maybe a second IS5100Z , or a Dixie Chopper with a Yanmar Diesel or a Scag with a 28hp CAT Diesel.
a dixie chopper would own that! theyre kinda wierd to get used to if u havnt driven a 0-turn before. i let my mom drive my 72" Dixie chopper and she nearly hit 4 trees! lmao
Nice machine, not so nice operator. I have a Dixie and that sucker is fast but it takes a lot of finesse and some maturity to not run it like an idiot and tear shit up. Personally I would never drive it like that on a piece of turf even at the shop! RESPECT the GRASS!!! I save that shit for the dirt lot at the shop!!
Does that thing actually mow grass or just tear it up? Most commercial operators are more concerned with a quality cut that speeding around at ridiculous speeds and ripping up turf.

Bad Boys are pretty nice.
Bad thing is they don't have axle suspension.

the bad boy will fly, but are delicate when you need them to be. i mow commercially with two bad boys, and i love them.

Looks like it'd tear up turf way too easily. No thanks.
